I agree with the previous post about the layout. It is just to open and not overly challenging. Having said that, the course is usually in good condition and service is good.

The course was in great shape, the greens very true (maybe a bit slow).
Cart lady came around plenty, and they actually have a BBQ set up near the ninth green, which can save you some time. Prices were reasonable as well, as a hot dog was $3 and a cheeseburger $4.
Something about this course makes me think I won't play it again. Too many wide open fairways, but I just didn't like the layout that much. The care taking of the course is second to none, but I just wasn't a huge fan of the course in general. I will probably generate some thumbs down for this opinion, but I just don't think the course is that remarkable compared to other Atlanta courses.

Course in great shape and wasn't very busy because of the heat. I had not played here before so I had no idea where to play certain holes. Drove through the fairway a few times on dog legs. It would be great if they added yardage books to their carts. I will play it again. Nice course.

Played Monday 6/30/09 for $30. Extremely high value for the money. The fairway was in excellent shape, plush grass everywhere. I played the blues, but noticed the whites were moved up even further from what the scorecard indicated (not a problem, just an fyi). We were able to go off a few minutes early and completed the round in 4 hours flat. We flew through the back 9 in probably 1:45. Saw the beer cart girl probably 3 times, which was adequate. Plenty of water coolers on the course as well. The only downside was a couple of the par 3's had lots of unrepaired ball marks, but I guess that can be expected. I will be back.
I played this course June 21st. From the blue tees its a solid challenge. The greens and fairways were in great condition (similar to Woodmont.) It was 67.00 on lmtt, which isnt much of a price break (we normally play for closer to 50.00) I played with some semi-hackers, and we were moving a little slow out the gates. The ranger let us know that there was a gap in front of us, so we picked up the pace big time! About 5 holes later, he stopped and spoke to us again (after we had gained almost 2 holes of separation from the group behind us, and said that people on the front 9 were complaining, and we needed to speed up? Apparently he didnt understand that we were not the problem if we had that large of a gap behind us. Dont get me wrong, I love to play fast, ready golf...but I dont care to be harrassed when we have left the trailing group in the dust. All in all, great course...and I shot 39 on the back, which didnt hurt!

I played here on 6/22/09, using an LMTT red flag tee time. Course is in fantastic shape, maybe the best I have ever seen it. It was not crowded, so I was allowed to play alone, which I had never done before. The fairways looked great, and the greens held and putted very well. The cart lady came around a few times on this hot day. The course is fair but challenging, with some nice views on several holes. I would recommend putting this course on your play list.

This a really nice course. I have played here three times. It is one of the most challenging courses around. It has a variety of hole designs that keep you guessing.
It is a bit costly, so the value is not great, but I would definately go back again for a less expensive twilight round.
Played at Bentwater on 6/6 and it was in great shape. I've played here before and the course condition was probably the best I have ever played it in. Challenging but fair. Staff was friendly. Fairways were were in great condition and greens were in even better condition despite the fact I saw a lot of unrepaired ball marks. Tee-boxes were good but a little long for my liking. May not have been mowed because of some recent rain. The course was pretty crowded but play moved along very well. Also, they had a snack tent set up beside #9 green with snacks, drinks, and burgers. I thought this was a great idea considering the fact that you have to go out of your way to the clubhouse at the turn if you would like something to eat or drink. Not sure if this is a regular thing or just for a special occasion but it's a great idea. Not to mention the burger was excellent. If you haven't played here I highly recommend it especially if you can get a LMTT tee time price. Well worth it. #10 is probably my favorite, you really have to hit 2-3 quality shots for a par or better.

I played Bentwater on Friday, 5/29/09 for the first time. Greens fee was $54 for guest of a Cannongate member. The course layout was challenging and the layout forced me to use most of the clubs in my bag. The condition was good, but the fee was a little steep for weekday play. I will play there again if I can get a LMTT rate.

I played Bentwater on 5/26. Course was in excellent shape despite the rain we have had recently. The fairways looked great. The greens were fast and the ball rolled well on them. I really liked the apples that were available in the barrel on the first tee...nice touch. The pace of play was very good, rangers keeping things moving, but never had any real delays, other then some rain. I used a LMTT red flag special here and it was worth every penny. Everyone that I ran into that worked there was very pleasant. I played real well, too. I look forward to going there again soon. I think it is a must-play course.

Played 4/28 at a $44 rate out here. I must say, this course is in the best condition of any around Atlanta right now. Fairways were greening up nicely, and the greens are looking good. Another 2 weeks and they will be perfect speed. We breezed around in about 4 hours. Although playing in front of a twosome, we were asked to pick up our pace once by the ranger, but at least he was pleasant and not snippy. (I thought the goal was a 4 hour round. Course is in great shape....100 times better than Heritage and Smokerise.

We played this course on 04/04. We all excited after reading the reviews for this course. However, after we started on the 10th, we were all completely disappointed. I think the saying of the day was "They are real proud of their course". For a rate $60(LMTT, regular $78) you would expect the weeds to be pulled on the course. The greens were slow and heavily sanded. Fairways were in pretty good shape despite all the rain. The course layout was unique. The cart/clubhouse/at the turn service was excellent. Too many other courses in better condition and price value to pay the rate they posting even through LMTT.

Played 36 holes on 4/11. Course was in overall good shape for the most part. Some of the tee boxes were ok, but most were a bit weedy and furry. Really only comes into play on the par 3's, making it hard to pinch the ball. They could use some manicuring. Greens were sanded and running slow. I had expected something better after over a month of recovery from aeration. Looks like may be a week or two from being in great shape. I love the layout of the course, several challenging holes and good risk reward opportunities.

Played the course 3/29/09 from the blue tees.
It had rained heavily over the previous 3-4 days, but the course was in surprisingly good shape and our foursome enjoyed it.
The layout was impressive with no two holes alike. It was a windy day so the course played much longer and difficult than the stated 6500 yds. The course winded through various neighborhoods, but it was not intrusive for the most part.
The greens had been aerated earlier in the month, but were in pretty good shape even with the recent heavy rains.
The service and food in the club house were good.
Although I wouldn't play here regularly due to the distance from my house, I would recommend it to others. I'm not sure it's worth $75, but the 20 dollar discount with LMTT made the price about right.

This is a first class layout and the greens are in great shape. There was no roll at all as the fairways are very wet and dormant. We played in about 4 hours and 15 minutes despite the course being quite busy due to the fine weather and cart path only from the soggy fairways. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a challenging layout. Watch out for the par threes, they are challenging.

Course was in great shape, a little wet though from the sprinklers. Staff in clubhouse was great. My only suggestion or complaint, was that the ground crews were all over the course. They constantly drove up behind us when we on the tee box and once they drove up and parked in the middle of fairway before we teed off.
Given my comments above, I would recommend the course highly.

Bentwater has always been a nice course. I played in a tournament there a few days ago and found the course in better condition than I remember. The greens were absolutey terrific and the fairways were in good shape.
It has a nice mix of difficult and "easy" holes. The course allows you to take chances and be rewarded. You can score well with a convservative game from the blues but your iron play has to be good.
I have played Bentwater several times and have always been pleased with the staff. One little detail they do which I find extremely considerate is the fact they have complimentary apples on the first and tenth tees. It's little details like that which seperate good course from bad courses.

played for first time 9/20, 4some took a little over 4 hours. the staff was very friendly and the cart girl came around every 3-4 holes or so.
overall condition was really good considering the drought. ball sat up well on fairways and the greens were in very good condition. the real benchmark i've found for most ATL courses has been the condition of the bunkers. bunkers were well cared for with abundant sand, very playable around the greens.
the course layout was challenging and beautiful at times. played from the blues which played relatively short. only truly need driver on a few holes, otherwise you're better off playing for position/safey off tees. a few risk reward 4s & 5s keep it entertaining. the course is surrounded by homes, some of the holes the homes were too close for comfort, but for the most part one doesn't notice them.
good value overall if you can find gas to get there.
This is a solidly above average course. I'm not generally a huge fan of homes lining the course, but this one is still very good. Nice clubhouse, good food and reasonable prices. You can play it from the tips to make a really challenging long course for anyone, or closer for a more enjoyable round. I recommend this one to everyone wanting a really nice course without too much hype and pretense.

Bentwater is my favorite course to play in the Atlanta/N. Ga area since it opened and I started playing it(yes it didnt have homes at 1 point! lol).
I brought a young friend of mine from Chattanoog, Tn to play today because I knew it would be a "wow" experience for him. And it was. I havent got to play as much this year so I havent been back to play since last golf season in 07. But man, is this course always a treat. We played the white tees as he hasnt played there before.
The greens were the BEST I had ever seen them. Putted flawlessly all the way around teh course. And from tee to green I could find nothing out of place(except for a few of my shots! lol).
The staff is always pleasant and helpful.
If you are ever in this neck of the woods make sure and stop in. You wont be disapointed!
I have played this course many times and it is always in great shape. The greens were fast and rolled very well. The ball sat up nicely in the fairway. I will definitely be playing this course again!

Played on Thursday July 31st and the course is gorgeous. From Tee to green the course has never looked better. Lance and his crew are very friendly and keep me coming back. This particular Thursday it had rained over 2 inches the night before and thus it was Cart Path Only. This made things more difficult, but even with the course not draining as well as it possibly could-still had great time. The after 5:00pm rate of $29 dollars can't be beat!!
