I played Laurel Springs today as a guest of a member and had to pay $80 for the round........or should I say OVER pay?
I was not pleased with the condition of the course at all. Yes, this is just a few days after Fay rolled through town and dumped a ton of rain so I could give them a pass. But, the course had not been cut in a week except for the greens. The bunkers needed to be raked and turned-over so they can dry out a little. The greens were beat up with ball marks all over the place. I'm assuming that mostly members play the course and you think that they would repair ball marks.
The course layout was fun but tough. The staff was nice, but we only saw a cart girl (who actually was a guy) once the entire round.
I was expecting more for $80......I could've gone a few miles up the road to Bear's Best and put down $20 more for a much better golf course. Or I could've stayed closer to home and played Stone Mountain for $55. However, I would like to try Laurel Springs after it has dried out and been cleaned up.

I am a member at Laurel Springs and someone told me about the previous post and I had to sign up and dispute this ridiculous claim. The golf course is in fantastic shape and is one of the best Nicklaus layouts in the Atlanta area. Our superintendent is one of the best in the Atlanta area and has drastically improved our course over the last superintendent who killed our greens 5 years ago. To McPittman I say that judging by the other courses you play you wouldn'nt know quality if it bit you in the rear. You played the course the weekend before our member guest and the place was awesome. Greens were fast and true and the fairways were in great shape and not a weed to be found. I've played the other clubs you mentioned and give me a break (providence club? whatever). Laurel Springs should not even be affiliated with this website. We are premier club in the Atlanta market and not a 15 dollar special for you and your friends. Do us all a favor and stop spreading untruths because you are a crappy golfer who can't afford to play real courses.
Played this Course on 5/28. Got a $50 coupon to go check it out. They're looking for members to join, but its no wonder they can't find any memebers. The course is in horrible condition! Fairways are crap, and greens are beat up. Best part of the course is the nice fluffy sand traps. Layout is good. Course is just horrible kept. If you come across one of these coupons or get invited to play skip it and go play a nice course.
