Played in a shotgun scramble on Saturday. !st time playing on this course. It was in very good shape. Staff was exceptionally friend;y and helpful. Playing fron the gold tees (tips) was challengind especially with some ofthe long par 4s. Several water holes and dog legs make for some challenging shots. Overall course is not to difficult. A few fairways were alittle tight but overall faily forgiving. Greens were consistently smooth and very approachable with just enoguh protection to make you hit the ball true but not overdone where it had to be a perfect shot at the pin. I would play this course again and will probably enjoy it more playing from the white tees like I usually do.

Great course for the price. The greens were soft and a little on the fuzzy side but the putts rolled smooth with good pace. I don't like some of the holes like 1,the first par 5, and 9. It's a fairly easy/fair test but course knowlegde is definately a plus.

Course is in excellent condition, especially the greens. The only thing needing improvement is new yardage markers on the fairway sprinkler heads. Spent a lot of time searching. Beautiful view from the clubhouse.

Played here this past Friday and must say that the golf course is in good condition. I am sure that the recent rains have played a major part in this, however, the new management has done wonders with the overall condition and maintenance of the golf course. The greens were in fine shape and rolled true.

I love this course due to its low score productivity. Its a fun course, not the most challenging, however you'll be happy you played when you see your score card.

I play this course quite often, as it is less than 2 miles from my home. Played here on Tue, 05/26 and was somewhat apprehensive, given some of the recent reviews, regarding the condition of the greens.

Was pleasantly surprised and found that as stated in the most recent posts, that all but maybe two of the greens were in exceelent condition. Even the two that showed slight remnanats of the afforementioned damage, were still very playable. Add to this the great value of playing via LMTT for under $30 and it was a nice way to spend a day.

I would also be remiss if I did not commend the noticeable improvement in the courteousy and professlionalism of the staff, from the pro-shop, to the grill, everyone was very friendly. My previous knock on this course was that the old management and staff were quite "snobbish" and un-welcoming to visitors. Enough so that I did not play there at one point for nearly a year. Perhaps this treatment was only with non-members, but as I stated, having frequented this course for several years, I would expect more courtesy, given my patronage.

In any event... nice to see the new staff and attitudes. I look forward to playing here throughout this summer.

Great value right now. I played today and all but 3 greens were perfect. The other greens have come back nicely and the other 3 should be back within a week or two at the most. However, they are overly bad. Those three are just a little bumpy but they have done a nice job keeping the sand on them to smooth it out.

This is an ego boosting golf course. You can play terrible and still shoot in the 70's or play great and shoot under par. Perfect golf course to get your confidence back.

A MUST play for this LMTT value price.

Had to provide an update on that last review because it was pretty unfair. First of all, the greens are nowhere near as bad as this guy made them out to be. Not by the date he claimed to play, anyway (they were pretty much unputtable 5-6 weeks ago) Almost all of them have come back to their normal, good quality state. There are maybe 3 or 4 exceptions that are still bumpy from the bout of dollar spot but I've played there several times in the last couple of weeks and each time, the improvement is noticeable.

The fairways are in nice shape also. I don't understand why some people place such a premium on length, but to each his own. This is not a bomber's course, that's for sure. But getting around strategically with good course management is what works here.

The staff, from the brand new GM to the cart girls are all very friendly and upbeat. This is a fun place to play.

This used to be a fun little course to play. Not overly long, but critical to keep the ball in play. I was able to use a driver on only 6 holes, but was playing from the blues with the other members of my group. Strongly suggest you play from the golds if you drive the ball any distance at all! The greens, which were once some of the best in Atlanta during the late 90's... are now some of the worst. Dollar spot has taken over most of them and they are practically un-puttable. My strong recommendation is to wait until they get this fixed before you consider spending your time and money playing here. Once they get back to a reasonable condition, I would consider CCofG as a fun little venue.

Played the course on April 26th. Fairways have recovered from the standing water they received a couple of weeks ago and were in as good a condition as ever. But, the greens are going fast. Dollar spot is on all greens except 9 and 18 and putting is impossible since you can not keep a ball on line. If you don't want to take gimmes on anything within 3 feet, get ready for a lot of putts.

As always, the staff here is very friendly and knowledgable and the pace of play was excellent. It's not expensive to play here, so you can probably get over the poor condition of the greens. But, if you've never played here before, wait until the greens improve so you can experience the very nice course that this used to be.

Played this course for the first time April 21, 2009. The course was wet in spots due to very heavy recent rain, but considering the amount of rain the area received the course was in good condition overall.
The greens were in bad condition with large numbers of dead spots. Putting was futile at best. Trying to read the greens was a complete waste of time because the ball would bounce and veer drastically off the chosen line, often times stopping abruptly after settling into one of the dead spots.
There was no sand in the bottles on our cart making it hard to repair divots.
I loved the layout of the course, and the staff and club members were all exceptionally polite.
I only paid $30 to play the course and have payed a lot more money to play courses that were far less fun. I will gladly return to CC of Gwinnett again.

My partner and I played CC of Gwinnett on Saturday morning, April 18th and were thoroughly disappointed. Before booking the tee time I had read the LMTT reviews dating back to March 5th, when the reviewer mentioned that the greens had been aerated. A month and a half later the greens appear to be diseased with dollar spot damage. The greens are covered in small to medium sized divots that are much larger than typical aeration holes. This is inexcusable even considering the rain that we’ve had – other area courses that aerated greens weeks ago have superb putting services.

This condition affects every put on every green with the exception of the practice green, the 9th green and the 18th green. All of these greens are visible from the clubhouse (which seemed ironic). Most of the fairway grass is dormant and covered in wavy grass runoff from previously standing water. Several of the tee boxes are bare and appear uncared for.

Before our round we used the driving range. The driving range is considerably run-down and even on a weekend morning used mats.

The staff did a great job of teeing us off at the correct time and moving play appropriately. We finished our round in just over 4 hours and remained spaced between two groups through all 18 holes – never waiting and never being waited on.

The layout is a typical of a mid-90’s course. The front nine is contrived around a residential development and the back nine works away from the clubhouse towards Stone Mountain. The back nine is far superior to the front nine in terms of design, risk/reward and beauty. It’s very similar to the Stone Mountain Lakemont course. There are several granite outcrops and elevation changes out back, the front is very vanilla and meanders around homes.

Even using the LMTT rate (we paid $50), CC of Gwinnett is far below par! Should the conditions improve it’s value using a twilight rate would be comparable to other area courses. I will not return.

I played this course for the 1st time this past weekend. I really liked the layout as it provides several risk / reward opportunities. I was disappointed with the condition of the Greens although it is probably related to all of the rain that we've had recently. The Facility and Staff were excellent and I can't wiat to play this course again once the Greens are in better condition.

played country club of gwinnet on 04/04/09. as always the staff was very friendly and helpful. was greeted by the golf shop, starter, and individuals tending to the course.

driving range had multiple targets but you had to hit off from mats. the putting green is a good size with plenty holes to putt at.

the course conditions were ok. i have seen it in much better shape before. this is probally because of the recent rain we had. there are bare spots from the runoff waters. some of the tee boxes were thin, and the greens did not roll good at all. they recently been punched in about 2-4 weeks ago and there were plenty of sand spots on each green if not most.

this is a great place to play. you will use every club in your bag which i enjoy. you need to play this a couple of times because its a very hilly course that has plenty of blind shots. it is not long place to play but you will hardly have an even lie.

Played on March 23. I've played this course a few times. I always enjoy the layout. The greens have been punched about a month ago. I'm a little surprised they are not farther along than they are. Still really slow and bumpy. The fairways are starting to green and should be in good shape in the next few weeks. Service was good in the club house. Small complaint about no one manning the bar when I made the turn and no bev cart on a Monday. Played in a brisk 3 hours and 40 min. Overall you really can't beat it for the price.

I participated in the LMG March Madness Event at this course on March 25. I enjoyed the event and the course. We played from the GOLD tees although with my handicap I would norally play from the BLUE. It was a challenging layout but, I have to say the greens were extremely slow. They had been aerated in the past month and so they should get better as we come into spring. But you really had to slam the ball to get it to roll! The fairways were in good condition although they were just beginning to show some green. The part of the course near the clubhouse is pretty open, but there are some pretty tight fairways farther from the clubhouse where you can keep your driver in the bag. Overall, a nice place to play for a mid to high handicapper like myself. I plan to return when things get greener.

03/05/09, Played this course today with one of my sons and it was our first trip here. Today because of the recent SNOW in the area it was cart path only. The fairways were a little wet in places and showed some signs of the water, they had just areiated and sanded the greens so it was tough to tell about how true the greens are. The course layout is GREAT and we found it very challanging, we played from the BLUES and definately got out moneys worth, $25 even with the greens. Played the course in right at 4 hours and never really got in any big hurry. We will definately be back later in the year when things start to GREEN UP. Staff was very helpful and plesent.

For the most part I enjoyed the course. Several of the Par 4's are very short and with hazard placements could pose problems hitting a driver off the tee. I thought the fairways were hard and difficult to hit off. The greens were in good shape for the most part, but some were bumpy. The main issue I had was that we played late in the afternoon (2:27 tee time) and our cart's battery died just as we teed off on 15. It was a VERY steep hill up the fairway so we were stuck. By now it was 6:00. I called the clubhouse to get another cart delivered and was told They would send someone out. We waited for 20 mins. I had to call a second time and was told that everyone in the proshop was gone and the cart guy was out on the course with no radio or cell phone. We waited another 15 min as it got too dark to play and packed our bags and started walking back to the clubhouse. The cart guy showed up about a third of the way through our walk and just said "Sorry about that" We didn't get to finish our round.

This is a decent golf course with pretty good value. The fairways and greens are usually in good shape, but tee boxes are sometimes rough. Green speed is usually moderate to fast and roll pretty true. Bunkers are consistent.

This course is pretty short and has a few holes that you will find yourself trying to hit some tee shots no more than 200 yds. There are a couple of holes that I don't understand the logic behind when the course was created, but it's an aesthetically pleasing course. Pace of play on busy days is not enforced as it should be.

I would recommend this course for all skill levels as there are a couple of challenging holes and a few easy holes with different levels mixed in throughout the course.

I’ve played here a couple of times and the greens are in the best shape I’ve ever seen them in. They’re rolling very true and very fast. The fairways and tee boxes were in good shape even with the grass beginning to go dormant.

The staff was very friendly and helpful as always.

This is not a “Grip it and Rip it” course. It will require you to be smart about where you hit it or it will punish you. Be careful of when you choose to hit driver, it’s very easy to hit through some of these fairways. Put the ego in check on some of these holes by simply playing a nice 3 wood and you'll score!!!

It’s a fun course to navigate. If you hadn’t played it, I recommend that you do. You’ll enjoy it.

Renewed interest in golf after a 15-year hiatus. Been playing courses north and east of Atlanta all year. So far, CC of Gwinnett has become one of my favorite courses.

I play the blue tees and shoot between 100 and 110. Not great, but I'm basically a beginner. I find their course fun and challenging. A few easy holes and a few that are quite unforgiving. Placement of hazards and some over-water tee shots keeps you on your toes. Lots of hills adds to the challenge as well.

The staff is very nice and everything seems well maintained. Played 36 holes today and the course was in great shape.

Very affordable. Paid $38 (incl cart) on LMG. Only $17 to play a second round w/ cart. Not too shabby for a such a nice course.

Easy drive from ATL. I live in Tucker and made it in less than 30-minutes.
