This is my favorite course. Other than the olser guy at the desk, who is rude the rest of teh experience is great. I have played this course many times and will continue to play there. The summer twilight special of 25.00 after 3:00 p.m. is the best value in the area.

I really enjoy playing this course. It's pretty straight forward and not very long. I played from the tips and still hit several fairway woods off the tees. Even still, the course offers challenges. There are many elevation changes and up hill par 4's and 5's.

As far as the course condition, everything was is very good shape. The tee boxes were full, fairways and rough in great shape, and the greens were consistent and receptive.

Service was great as well. They paired me up with a couple and we went straight out.

Over all, a great experience and I hope to get back here soon and play again!

The course is in a lot better shape than last year. I always loved the price to play but last year the quality of the course went down. I decided to give it another chance and I am glad I did. The greens looked good and rolled true. The sand traps were nice white and raked. Unfortunately, I found my way there a couple times. Also, the fairways were in good shape with minimal weeds. Play was a little slow but that is to be expected with a course in good shape. Thanks to LMG my tee time was only $25 and it was worth every penny!

I have played this oourse many times and I like it better every time I play. The clubhouse staff and pro are very courtesous, fair and friendly. I usually find a great price either with the last minute golfer red flag or with an everyday pass. I love the many different layouts and the par 5's are very reachable in two with a good drive off the tee. The greens are awesome except that on a few holes the ball marks on the greens are not being fixed by some players. Overall, a great course at a super price...have fun!

Paid $20 on LMTT to play here yesterday. I have had the same problem before as the last two posts, but once the owners see this, it will be fixed. Absolutely no one on the course late yesterday, which made for relax free golf. Even with a 4Pm tee time, got 27 holes in before 8:30. My only complaint is they need to clean up the tee boxes from all the broken tees. Not managements fault, but people need to repair ball marks on greens. Great value, great course. I'd rather drive out here than play at Collins Hill GC, and I live right next door.

WOW I HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE AS THE LAST POST.
ON 6 HOLES A YOUNG GUY WOULD RUSH UP TO THE GREEN WHEN WE WERE ON IT OR CHIPPING ON THE FRINGE. HE WOULD JUST WALK AROUND WHILE WE WERE TRYING TO PUTT, HE HAD NO REGUARD FOR US. OTHER THAN THAT THE COURSE LOOKS GOOD, THE COUNTER STAFF WAS GREAT. I AM NOT A MEMBER BUT I LIVE IN THE PROVIDENCE CLUB AND I MUST SAY THE COURSE IS IN THE BEST SHAPE I HAVE EVER SEEN IT IN. IT IS A SHAME TO HAVE A GROUND CREW MEMBER RUIN THE DAY.

Course was in good condition and the price was reasonable. My only complaint is the crew has no respect for the players. The ranger never stopped if someone was about to swing...he even drove 20 yards in front of us right before one of us was about to tee off. Wouldn't be so bad, but because of his fast pace we saw him every other hole. Then when we were hitting our approach shots on 18, a young guy pulls up and starts walking around checking the green while we're hitting. You'd think he would've waited off to the side while we hit...but was even standing right in front of the pin with his back to us on a couple occassions. If I was good enough to hit him, I would have. Instead I landed just beside him. When I questioned if they usually walk on the green while customers are hitting their approach shots, all the punk said was "yep". Won't be going back soon.

This is good value for the money. The course is a tee shot course. With a good tee shot, most par 4s are reachable with an 8 iron or less. However, number 4 has water in play to the left with a sand bunker in the landing area. Do not go left unless you are a big hitter. Try to hit just right of the sand bunker and the ball will bounce to the fairway if the conditions are dry. The risk over the water is not worth the payoff. The clubhouse staff was very helpful and professional. This is a fun course and scores can go low with consistant tee shots.

This is the best deal in the eastern part of Atlanta. Easy ride down 316 to get there. I usually cash in yards and play the red flag deal. The course is always in great condition, staff is very courteous, they just need a cart person on the course, though they have water evry 3 holes. Even at $40, this is a great deal, especially for beginners, not too challenging.

Played on Monday 5/25. The course is in good condition. The greens rolled slow and the fairways were marked up from all the recent golf. No sight of a cart girl, but the starter was on the 1st tee keeping times spread out. Always a fun course to play. The green fees are average for this kinda course.

This was my first time playing Providence Club. Had always heard about the course, but never got around to playing it. Got a great deal on a later tee time yesterday, on 5/23/09. Now that I am familiar with this courses where abouts I will definitely be back to play it more often.

This course is a pretty hard and tricky course, due to the elevation changes, the rolling greens, and the hard blind shots. A few holes that have water in play, like the 3rd, with a straight over water par 3, give you a shot of making a well deserved birdie. The greens were in pretty good condition, and the fairways were about the same. This course does wind through a neighborhood, but you dont feel overwhelmed with houses barracading the fairways.

The staff was great, I have played a couple of courses lately, and with all the rain we are having down in GA, you hardly ever see the cart girls out on the course. Obviously if its a downpour thats understandable, but a little drizzle, c'mon people your not going to melt. But here, she was out on the path until the sky fell out. So kudos on that.

I would definitely recommend this course to others to check out, and I will definitely be back to Providence Club to play again.

Played Providence for the first time since the ownership change and was very impressed. The course is in great shape. The layout is very good, with elevation changes and a nice variety of holes, including a couple of fun risk/reward holes.

For a course that winds thru a neighborhood, you don't feel hemmed in by houses. Most are set well back off the playing area.

The greens are tough though! Very challenging. Unless you are really good at reading breaks, you will have a frustrating time. Most of the greens resemble an un-made bed- hardly a flat spot anywhere. And I don't know who p***sed in the superintendent's cornflakes that morning, but the pin placements were BRUTAL. I've never seen so many holes cut so close to the edges of the greens. Most were only about a pace and a half on. I half expected to see one cut into the fringe. And most of the time they were cut into the slopes or other devilish spots. This took a good deal of the fun out of the round for me and if this is the way it usually is there, it's enough to make me play elsewhere.

Also, be prepared to lose some balls. The fairways are surrounded by six-inch rough and weeds and if you ball ends up in it, the only way you'll find it is to step on it. This was the biggest negative for me. I realize that without these areas the course would play much easier, but come on, it's not the US Open out there.

The driving range is awkward with only 8 or 9 mats and fairways on both sides. Also except for one flag about 50 yds away, there are no targets to hit to except for one useless green at the far end.

I realize that a lot of my negatives are purely personal preference type things and others might find them to be a plus, so for that reason plus the fact that the course is so well maintained and fun to play, I give it a good rating.

This was my first round at this course and I wish I would have found it sooner! Very good layout, greens are very reseptive, undulating and in great shape. From the back tees, it's 6500 yards and a good challenge even with some short par 4's.

The staff was great and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I will play this course quite often!

Staff are nice & friendly. Speed of play was really good and my group plays fast. I recommend you play this course, I drove over an hour and say it was worth it. I'll definitely be back.

What can I say? This course is getting better at the season continues. The greens are rolling true and the fairways are continuing to grow. There are a few holes on the front where there is ground under repair, but other than that you will enjoy playing a good course. If you can take advantage of their twilight rates at $35 & $25.

I've played this course over a hundred times, and I have not seen it look this nice. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are in great shape. If your looking for an upscale feeling course at a fair rate this is the one for you. This course tends to hold a lot of water, so if it's rained in the past couple of days the course might play a little slow. If your straigt off the tee, this is a shot makers course. I've recorded my lowest round of golf at this course. Enjoy your round!!!

Played here for the first time on Sat April 18 and was very pleased. Fairways, tee boxes, and greens are in excellent shape especially for this time of year. None of that winter and early spring bermuda clippings wash at all, none. Layout is interesting and diverse. Greens are slightly faster than average and very true, with some tricky pin placements. Fairways are generously wide on most holes. This is definitely a course you can go low on if you can hit your driver average distance and can hit your mid and short irons reasonably well. Nothing tricky about it. The clubhouse is informal with drinks reasonably priced. Cart girl came around several times. My only real complaint is that play was slow and we never saw a marshall.

Played Monday April 20th in a Charity Scramble. This was my first visit to Providence and I really enjoyed the course.

SUMMARY:Nice course, beautiful greens, fairways and tee boxes in good condition, and a friendly staff.

For more details, continue reading:
It is not a long course but it does have a wide variety of tees to choose from (Gold-6576, Blue-6159, White-5727, Green-5420, and Red-5048). For the very few that bomb 300 yard drives you may want to find a longer course. For the rest of us mortals I think you will find this a very enjoyable course. The greens are not real fast but they are beautiful right now. I would characterize the typical green as large, smooth, and having gentle slopes. The fairways are in good shape and starting to turn green. The course is in a neighborhood with houses along the fairways and lots of white stakes. However fairways are typically fairly wide. The OB stakes should not come into play, except for those with severe slice problems. There are several scenic lakes with holes that play across the water and holes that bend around the lake. Also a very nice par 3 that has water on 3 side of the green. There is nice variety of holes with doglegs, uphill approaches, downhill approaches, and both long and short par 3s. Other than the lakes and a few bunkers(that had plenty of sand and multiple rakes) there is not a lot of trouble to get into. The vast majority of the tee boxes were in great shape with plenty of healthy grass.

I do not remember any bathrooms on the course but the ladies will be glad to hear the front nine does end up back at the club house. The club house has a nicely stocked pro shop along with a nice bar/grill and dining room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The carts are electric and in good condition.

They have both a practice putting green and chipping green. After hitting my driver on the range, I did hear someone say there was a "No driver" sign, but I never saw it. The range does have a large green at the far end of the fairway. It is 240 yards away and uphill. The closest house is over another 45 yards beyond that. I would think the green is safely beyond the reach of all but the longest hitting players that can drive a range ball at least 260 yards. I do not remember a large variety of targets to aim at. It does appear to be mats only facility.

The score card has pictures that show the shape of each fairway and green. In addition there is a nice picture along with yardages at the tee boxes. They use colored flags to indicate where the hole is located on the green. They use sprinkler heads to show yardage to the green center along with a 150 yard pole and colored stones for 100 and 200 yard indicators. Generally there is plenty of signage to guide you around the course. The cart paths are in good condition. The course greens and hazards have been mapped by GolfTraxx.com if you want to use your GPS enabled Blackberry or iPhone to show your distances.

Overall Providence is a very nice course. I was told they invested over a million dollars in improvements in the last year or so. I only wish I lived nearby so I could enjoy it more often.

You can't beat the Super Twilight rate. $25 for a course like this and in this condition is a steal. The starter was very friendly, joked around with us, and did not rush us at all.

The course was in excellent condition. Greens rolled true and were in great shape. The cart girl was friendly, very attractive, and ran until around 6-7 PM.

Pace of play was a little congested. With that said, our foursome only waited on one hole...it wasn't bad at all. I've always enjoyed this course and I'm glad to see it up and running and in great condition.

Played Sat.4/11/09.Great weekend rate through LMTT.Thought we arrived early enough(30 mins. before our tee time)to hit a few balls.WRONG! We barely made a few practice putts,as the outside attendant constantly made comments and excuses to rush us to the first tee. Not a way to start a round-"BEING RUSHED". We played from the white tees and found the course to be challenging and in outstanding condition from tee to green. The fairways were soggy in some parts but 90 degrees was the cart rule. Greens were putting fast and smooth. Approach shots were releasing. As the new owners continue to improve conditions, this well maintained facility will become a gem once again.
