leaving greens condition 0 because that's what they are, terrible, bunkers also, rest of the course is great if you like cheap golf and bad greens this is the place'(
I played Cobblestone on Wednesday, July 15 and was disappointed. The layout, staff, and fairways are all excellent. The greens and most of the bunkers were horrible. The greens were pretty thick and not well taken care of at all. You can tell they've had some work but not enough. A lot of the bunkers were just mud. No sand, just good mud or dried mud. I was behind a slow group of players but chalked that up to their course manners. The rangers came through to every so often to check pace of play (and to make sure we were doing okay because I had my wife and kids with me.) The views of the lake make this course worth playing as most holes border Lake Acworth. I'll give this course higher ratings once I see massive improvement in the greens and bunkers.
The free round on your birthday is a plus as well. I did have to pay $9.00 for the wife and kids to ride but that was expected so it was no big deal.
I played this course 07/11/2009 and saw improvement in the condition of the course. The fairways are beautiful and are well maintained. The greens are improving, but still have bare spots. They seem to be watering often to improve the condition and working on some necessary repairs. The course was booked solid and the rangers did an excellent job maintaining pace of play. The service was excellent(even brought wet towels to cool you off)This is still one of my favorite layouts, they just need to bring the greens back to where they were a couple of years ago.
Ive played there twice now, really great staff, course has great waterfront views. Tons of wildlife! The course was in excellent condition except for the greens, they could use a little work. pace of play was nice too

I played Cobblestone on Saturday May 23. Those of you who have played there know that the course is on the banks of Lake Allatoona, and that there are spectacular views of the lake from a lot of the holes. The course layout is excellent. Each hole is different, and from the tee boxes, you are required to think up and pull off good shots in order to score well. The greens were in fair condition. They will get much better as the bermuda grass takes off this summer. Fairways and tee boxes are in good shape. I would encourage Cobblestone to get with the program and offer us some LMTT deals. Why would I play Cobblestone for a full weekend greens fee of $69 ($49 for weekend twighlight) when I can play the LMTT rate at Barnsley Gardens for $75 or the LMTT rate at St Marlo for $50. My point is that using LMTT you can play much better courses for the same money they are charging and you can play comparable courses for less money. So I probably wont be back anytime soon (unless someone else is picking up my greens fees...like a work function.) Fun course though.

I played here on 5/9/09. They have a great birthday rate (FREE!). The course was in good shape, even from the recent rains and a tournament they had the day before. The fairways were good, a few soft areas again due to the rain. The pace was just over 4 hours, with the rangers keeping things moving, but in a polite way. The cart ladies came around plenty of times, so there was no shortage of getting something to eat or drink.
The course is fair but very challenging. The greens were very fast and the ball rolled well on them. It is a good course and I will go back soon.
This course is laid out beautifully. The views of Lake Acworth are worth taking a picture or two while you're out (especially with a couple of the par 3 holes). I played this course in July and the greens were in okay condition. Not great but not bad either. I was disappointed in the condition of the course a little bit because it is advertised heavily as the former qualifying site for the PGA Tour. But, everyone wants to play PGA courses every now and then so I understood some of the wear on the course. The pro shop was fairly small. The driving range is on the other side of the parking lot so you almost don't know it's there (it looks like a part of the course holes from the road).
If you want to try this course out just to get an idea, show up on your birthday, tee time or not, present your ID and play for free! Not even a cart fee.
I thought I would never say anything negative about this course. It seems a year ago it would be the first course I would ever recommend. These greens are horrible and I will never go back unless they are fixed. It is simply too much money for those bad greens. And what a shame, because this course truly is one of the best layouts North of Atlanta.

Told myself a year ago I wouldn't return until they did something about the greens. But the $39 special had a friend and me return to the same great layout made awful by the woeful greens. A pity indeed. There is no way they can justify the prices they want normally when the greens are that horrible. Looking at Lake Allatoona only gets you so far with greens like those.
The course is really swampy right now. The fairways are really wet and muddy around the greens. Many of the bunkers have standing water in them. And the greens as usual are in really poor shape.
very simple to explain. if ur looking for a fun challenging golf course this is the one. everything about this course is great the only complaint is that i have a hard time forking over the money to play sometimes

Always fun to play, but always seem to tell myself,I could have gone somewhere else for the money.
I saw they are trying out the Champion Bermuda on the putting green, hopefully that will work out for them, because the greens do have a tendancy to be in bad shape most of the year.
Service is usually good, but many times get stuck behind some SLOW golfers.
Great views of beautiful Lake Acworth

Great track, but greens always seem to be in poor condition no matter the time of year. If the greens were in descent shape this course would be worth the money.

Tough course. Good track for the money. Greens are a little beat up from the hot summer and lots of play (Repair you BALL MARK) but in general a good course with plenty of challenge for even low handicap golfers.

Played on August 3 after the storm of last night and there was considerable debris everywhere on the course. Greens are slow and not great condition but fairways are pretty good. Overall a fun time and played in 4 hours. I like the layout and it is good value.

Played on 8/2/2008.
Greens: Not in very good shape, some really rough spots. Fairways: In really good shape. Tee Boxes: Could be improved greatly. Range: Over-watered and lacking in grass.
I went early to work on my putting as it has been suspect as of late. Unfortunately the putting green was closed as they had topped dressed it. Same with the chipping area.
Cart girl was around every three holes. Top notch service.
Course is pretty tough, you really have to pick your spots and hit your spots or you are going to get in a lot of trouble.
Played this course on 7/22 and thoroughly enjoyed my time. There are a good mix of par 3's, 4's, and 5's as well as changes to hole design. The overall layout around the lake is really beautiful throughout. That being said, Cobblestone can definitely eat some balls if you are not careful.
I really liked the 200 yard drive across the ravine on the par 3 hole #8. You really have to look for flag placement on this one as a it is still very easy to 3 putt on this tough green.
Overall, the fairways and greens are in great shape. The bunkers are all well conceived so don't be surprised if you find yourself chipping out of the beach on a few holes.
We were caught in a storm while playing, but were able to finish it out even with some rain. Nothing really got too bogged down even with a steady downpour, so play was not affected too much.
Played today 7/27/08 after a torrential rainstorm yesterday evening. The course was in good condition considering the amount of rain received just 12 hours ago. It seemed to play incredibly long since tee shots didn't roll much at all. I was very impressed with the way the course handled the amount of water it received. Greens were very slow.

I played this course Monday, July 21st and the course was in excellent condition. The course, which is right on Lake Acworth, has an excellent layout and its student price of $35 cannot be beaten. The staff went out of their way to make my round great and I really appreciated it. The only downside was conditions of the greens. They looked great but were incredibly slow. You really had to pound the ball if you wanted to get close and it made it hard to gauge putts. Overall, a great value and a fun course to play.

Played Thursday, July 10th. It had rained a good bit the 2-3 days prior, so course looked really good, if not a little less roll due to softer ground. Greens, which usually look rougher, were really in good shape. I will say they rolled slower than one would like, but i think they are finally trying to get serious about fixing them.
This course is always a great layout, and one to play if you have never done so. Clubhouse and cart girls were excellent and staff and rangers polite.
Recommend playing during the week if you can as weekends get pretty jammed here due to Cobb County discounts for its residents.

Played Cobblestone today. Course was in terrific shape. Greens were in very good shape. They rolled well and they rewarded you with a good shot to the green by holding well. The service was very good on the course. The cart ladies were around about 6 times. The course is challenging but very fair. The value today was the best (free...won a free round of golf when they selected my business card from their fishbowl). I look forward to playing there again.
Played 6/19/2008 The greens are simply awful! They seem to be getting worse if that’s possible. This is a great layout but the greens are a continuing disappointment.
