Ann and I arrived at "Savannah" today thinking we may have the course to ourselves...wrong! I think everyone arrived between 11:15 and 12:00, therefore we were waiting at every hole. The course is definetly in fall shape, greens having been aireated , as well the tee blocks were top dressed with sand.Savannah has some scratch your head "what do I use" type holes.Chooose wisely on those holes or you will pay the penalty. The bunkers appeared to be ready for fall closing as they didn't seem to of been groomed.Savannah is most times an enjoyable course to play. Today we were also infested with lady bugs the biting ones!!!

As previously mentioned the greens were recently aerated, that being said this course is a great value. This was my first time playing here and I definitely will be back, my playing partner had played here a number of times and was able to help me with shot selections which made for a great round. This course is truly a hidden gem(do not let the distance fool you) it is a challenge.

Played here on September 24th and just before we teed off we were told that the greens have been aerated. We were all fine with that as it is that time of year.

However they were sanding the greens directly in front of us so for the first 5 holes and then another few on the back we had to wait for the worker to clear the green and then hit onto a green completely covered in sand and almost unputtable.

Other than that the course was in great condition and a great layout. Im sure the greens have recovered by now and it should be a great course to play for the rest of the season.

The greens have now been aerated which is a real drag, but a necessary evil. The greens prior to the aeration were fast and tricky.
Savannah is a good value for the money. The course is not long, but the small, fast greens and the tight landing areas for your drives make it an interesting test.
The hot dogs at the turn, could be one of the best on the LMG courses.
The course is good exercise if you walk, but I probably would recommend a cart for older players.
Facilities are good, really all you need for your 19th hole activities.

I cashed in some yards on Wednesday because I would be in the area, The staff is freindly and courteous and took a moment to give some some pointers on how to take advantage of the layout.

The course is in great midseason form and the opening par 4 and the follow-up 600yd Par 5 is a great way to start your round and shows that this course means business.

The greens are ok but you can tell that the season has taken a toll on some (people not repairing ball marks) but the vast majority were in great shape. Savannah is a great way to spend your afternoon and a good value for money.

You'll need to hit great tee shots on all the holes to give yourself a chance.

I must say, as much as I enjoyed the course people playing slow can really ruin a good day. It took us 6 hrs to complete the round (Must be a record of some sort) because of 4 dudes that decided that this was their personal and Private track even though I'm sure that this was probably their first time on a golf course.

Have fun and play well!!

Played the course with my wife on Sunday September 20th and had a terrific time. Using the red flag reward time I still have a tough time not feeling like we robbed the place. The course was in good shape. The greens are tough as the breaks are subtle and the fairways demand precision rather than length. Play this one based on your ability don't just bomb from the tips. ( unless you bring a lot of balls )

Still amazed that people do not repair ball marks on the greens and divots in the fairways but that surely did not dampen our day.

A couple of tips: The green is in a straight line from the blocks on 10 despite being a blind second shot. Stay well left on 6 away from the pond it is a 2 shot hole no matter what you hit off the tee.

Have fun and we will definately be back in 2010 as this is one of my wife's favourites.

You know being aware and concerned about your fellow golfers should be a priority. We were playing from the blue tees and granted one of our players was a little rusty but we did keep up to the group ahead and completed our round in 3 hours 45 minutes. The twosome behind us playing from the white tees hit into our group on two occasions without yelling fore.

On the first instance I yelled fore back at them to make them aware of our presence on the second occasion again no one yelled fore but they realized how angry I was and kept well back of us from then on. At the very least have the common decency to apologize.

What a way to spoil a beautiful day on a lovely golf course. Savannah is truly a hidden gem and well worth the drive to experience such a diverse golf course.

Wow! Savannah Golf Links was a very nice surprise! A very nice layout through gently rolling hills. Nicely paved cart path throughout. More of a target golf course, rather a grip-it-and-rip-it course. In fact I only used my driver a few times. Plenty of water hazards throughout the course. I was only in the sand once on the 18th hole (short & to the left of the green) but the sand was soft and fluffy making it a relatively easy out. The greens were in great shape (with the exception of the 17th which had some rough patches). The ball rolled true on the moderately quick greens.

If you can keep it together on the front 9, the back 9 will give you some good opportunities to score. I highly recommend this course as it requires good course management.

Played Aug. 1/09, muggy and warm. Nice reception from everyone including starter who gave us some tips about some holes. We played from the Gold tees which are rated @71.0/131, the card recommends 0-9 HDCP. Another couple joined us and fortunately they had played there recently and gave us tips on every hole which was extremely helpful. First timers should play suggested tees as lots of holes have hidden hazards, look on the card for unseen water and traps. Bring your golf GPS to help with yardages. Condition was very playable after all the rain we've had except for some traps. Carts restricted to rough and paths only but no long walks. Overall a challenging golf course, good layout and some very nice views. Played to a couple over my handicap but posted a triple and 3 doubles (penalties) so I had some good holes. After LMG booking using my points the cost was less than $15 per player with cart! I think normal cost is just $45 with cart, worth the drive. Definately recommended.

If you can make the drive it is well worth it. The greens are in great shape and roll well. The fairways are the best I've seen them in a while. Bunkers could use some more sand but I guess I should stay out of them. This is a must visit if your looking for value.
You won't be disappointed!

If you played this course a few years ago and then played it now you would notice a drop in quality of the maintenance of the course. Some very nice holes make up for a lot. We were stuck behind two foursomes that were very slow. At the 10th we could see that there were four open holes in front of the second foursome teeing off on 11. We skipped to the 12th and finally found a marshall on 17. They did nothing for us when we mentioned this. At $30 its a good deal.

Savannah can easily become a complicated course if you can't manage to put the ball in the fairway. It will prove to be a real test of target golf but enjoyable if you can focus on course management. Simple rules to a great day of golf at Savannah is fairways and greens a definite must play.

I PLAYED THIS COURSE FOR THE FIRST TIME ON SATURDAY JULY 4/09. THE COURSE WAS IN GREAT SHAPE, THE GREENS WERE ROLLING. THE COURSE IS NOT VERY LONG BUT IT WAS CHALLENGING. THE WIND WAS PICKING UP IN THE AFTERNOON WHICH MADE FOR AN INTERESTING DAY.ITS A GOOD TEST FOR TARGET GOLF WITH THE DOGLEGS. THE STAFF WAS GREAT AND THE PRICE EVEN BETTER. I WILL MAKE THE TRIP BACK TO CAMBRIDGE TO PLAY THIS COURSE AGAIN

Played the course for the first time on June 17. Was really impressed with the overall conditions. The greens were well maintained and playing incredibly fast (which didn't help the score). Not a long course (except for the 600 yard par 5 on the second) but pretty tight and will give anyone a good test. Good value as well and I didn't even go through LMG. Only thing I didn't like was the lack of a beverage cart. Will definitely play the course again.

Course was in great shape and greens were nice and consistent. Lots of nice par 3's and the cart girl was around every 3rd hole which was nice on a 40 degree day! They only had hotdogs at the halfway house which was kind of a letdown but the course more than made up for it. Pace of play was decent and the variety of holes was a challenge. Will def be back for the value.

Not very long but quite tight, a good test for most golfers.

Played June 13/09. Course was in good condition. Heard that it was a shot makers course. It is. Driver saw two holes only. Great course for iron play. Greens in great shape. Rolled true. Staff, both in Club House and bar area very friendly. A few "quirky" holes but our playing partners knew the course so club selection was made easier. Only draw back were that alot of holes seemed like you were in the "firing range" of other holes. Heard "fore" alot. Overall, enjoyed it. Playing there in a tournament in July. Looking forward to it.

Played here this week. After the round we wondered why we don't play here more often.Pretty course where accuracy is more important than length. If you spray it off the tee, bring an extra sleeve of balls !! Greens are in good shape and friendly staff. Was a fun day.Good value. Take a cart if you are not in good shape or you will feel it the next morning !!

Booked June 9th with Red Flag deal for $30 with a cart! What a steal! Hardly anyone on the course. Fairways and greans in great shape, with the greens running super fast even with the amount of rain we've had. Course plays plenty long from the Golds. Seemed longer than the 6200 + change on the scorecard.(either because of the wind that day or I'm getting older) Excellent value and worth the 45 minute drive from Mississauga.

Played Savannah for the first time today. The course is very good test of golf. When you play here, play the tees that match your handicap. I would like to see the Management invest in some sand bottles for the golf carts and pull carts. The course conditions would improve if my fellow golfers and I had a chance to fill in the diviots on the tees and fairways. Overall this is a good test of golf with some very fast greens. Overall worth the drive to play this course!
