Played N3 at a great fall red flag rate. First time at the course and the supt let me tee of early as there was no frost. This is my favourite Kaneff course in the GTA and it was in great fall condition, with some greens beaten up with ball marks (which continues to boggle my mind why people don't repair their marks). I was able to walk this course quite easily, and enjoyably.

Played alone in about 2h 15min, and the breeze only kicked up at the 17th hole. They keep the greens and fairways clear of leaves and there was little evidence of aeration, in fact, the greens rolled very true. The layout is straighforward with generous landing areas but precision is required approaching greens. They are well guarded by sand, fescue and elevation changes.

This is a great test of golf and with recent red flag deals, is incredible value. My compliments to the grounds crew who have kept this course is such condition!

I can't wait to come back!

Played Royal Ontario for the first time today. Fairways were being aerated today not a really big distraction. Played from BLUE tees which I found teeing areas to be chewed up. Surprised not to find sand to fix diviots on teeing areas? Bunkers were hard packed from lack of raking from my fellow golfers!! Greens were in very good shape.

Overall, this course is in very good fall condition. Nice to play a course that is challenging and makes you use all your clubs. Happy to play this course on a RF rate. Nice course to play on a nice fall day. Hope you get a chance to play this course before seasons end!

A wonderful addition to LMG. I've played the course before LMG and now that it is available at a reasonable rate I'll play it even more. Expect a few blind shots and a GPS would be useful on some of the holes but as long as you can keep it in the fairway then all your troubles will be minor ones. Come out and enjoy a real gem.

Royal Ontario delivered an EXCELLENT afternoon of golf. I've played here before (pre-LMG) so when i saw that Royal ontario is now available i was happy to pull together my buddies and head to Milton. The level of service is quite impressive from the moment you arrive to when you complete your round.

The course is in excellent condition the with well groomed fairways and holes that allow you to use more than two clubs(a driver and a wedge). You can use irons off the tee on some holes if you want to play it safe or pull out the big stick and rip it if you're feeling lucky.

The greens are in excellent shape and VERY well groomed. This makes it tough to stay on on those long approach shots.

The value for the money is awesome as I've played this course before LMG and it was twice the price. As soon as I have another afternoon off.

I played Royal Ontario today on an amazingly beautiful September afternoon. Despite a 1 hour frost delay, the marshals did a great job at trying to fit us in where they could and we were able to enjoy a good moving pace for a weekend round of golf. They also threw in some free range balls to keep us busy, because of the delay.

The course itself played quite challenging, with the need to accurately hit you ball off the tee. Some thinking was also involved as driver was not always the best choice of the tee. Shots into the green also required a far amount of precision, as trouble was looming all around the greens.

The green rolled extremely fast and pretty true. There never really seemed to be any guarantee of a two putt no matter where we were on the green. The only down fall of the greens, not necessarily Royal Ontario's fault, were the number of divots on the green. On hole 18, I repaired 12 divots before lining up my putt.

At the turn service was quick and the food was good, perhaps a little too overpriced.

I will defiantly return to Royal Ontario, hopefully when I am hitting the ball a lot straighter.

Played a round there the 2nd week of September. The course layout stands out as the strength for this golf course. As for conditioning, my only complaint would be the aeration of greens. When I booked through LMG, it specifically said that they are not performing their next aeration till September 30, however, we noticed 4 greens were punched with holes and one that was completely covered in sand (it actually looked more beige than green) - needless to say, it made putting more than interesting on these greens. I just hope the course would update the course condition more accurately.

I've played here twice in that last week and love the layout of this course. Par 4 aren't always the same distance, in fact, many force you to leave the driver in the bag which is nice for a change. The par 3 require thought because of bunkers, water and elevation changes. A course guide or GPS would help in some areas, but after a round or two, it's easy to remember where not to go. The greens were top dressed but it's been that kind of summer, so I understand. I will come back because it is a course with lots of trees and links courses are a dime a dozen now. With the greens grown in and some tee boxes fixed, this course would be a 5 star all the way.

The problem I have with this course is the inconsistent service. I've had a great marshall experience, where he followed us on the 10th hole to give us tips, very enjoyable. I've had my bag picked up at the car once and then never again (5-6 times). We were given water in our cart twice, then never again. Then there are maintenance people who NEVER shut off their machine when you're on the putting green, this is unacceptable at this level of a course. They park on the side of the putting surface, leaving the engine sputtering and it really ruins the atmosphere. The man working at the 9 1/2 needs to be replaced, plain and simple. He asked for my order 5 times, then my playing partner's order 3 times, our order...2 coffees and a bagel each. We asked if we could get butter and cheese, he said no. We asked for jam, he said no. Who eats a toasted bagel with nothing on it? The course is losing out on money because of this guy.

Tough, tough course. Awesome test for better than average players. Nice mix of holes. Better be a solid driver of the ball to play the gold tees. Never too busy at this course and excellent practice facilities. Definitely the best of the Kaneff courses. Would play this course over Lionhead any day of the week. 9 and 18 are two really nice and tough finishing holes. Few holes seem tobe a little beat up but overall this is a fantastic course. Not recommended for high handicapper.
