my brother and i play alot of courses in the niagara region and enjoy all the bueatiful courses in the region. we rely pretty much on recommendations from others and from all the hype this course definetly rates in my top 10.great layout with tough bunkers guarding the greens needing accurate approach shots into the green.Off the tee it's pretty much wide open, so the second shot is the money shot and with the greens being so receptive you can score alot of pars. With all the rain recently i was expecting soggy fairways but you wouldn't have known it had rained at all. For the price i'll definetly be back.

2nd round of the day after Ussher's in the morning. Pro shop and starters really helped get us out for this one since we only decided to play again at the last minute and they cut a good deal again. Played better here but the course isn't quite as interesting as Ussher's. Lots of fairway bunkers make many holes look tougher than they really are. Bottom line...if I showed up to play one of these two and had to play the other I wouldn't be disappointed. Both were in good shape and not busy.

This is a great course for the big hitters. It seemed like you always had to pull out the big stick, which is the way it should be. A great deal through LMG and well worth the drive to Niagara. Not a busy course either. For a Municiple course it is by far the best I've played. Almost seemed like a private course.

My friend and I played this course about five weeks ago! I had heard and read great things about this course and it is ALL TRUE. The greens are extremely receptive playing a high flop shot or a pitch and run. The fairways are UNBELIEVABLE. A couple of times, I thought I was hitting off astro-turf. I can't remember having one bad lye. I STRONGLY recommend this course to any golfer regardless of your handicap!

Had played Usshers Creek just over a month ago, and when the opportunity cames to play Battlefield, did not hesitate in booking.

Played the Battlefield course on Sept 6th, the Legends never cease to amaze me, beautiful facility and layout are awesome. fairways and greens were in excellent condition.

Course is in amazing shape for the beginning of September.

hope to be able to get out there one more time before the end of the season

The Niagara Legends facility rates amongst the best within LMG Ontario. I played Battlefield on Wednesday morning on an LMG weekday pass, fantastic value.

Many of the greens but not all had been top dressed with fine sand, many of the tee blocks had been aerated. The fairways were in fairly good shape, the sand in bunkers is sub-par for this type of facility and packed quite hard, on two occassions I had clay stuck to the clubhead after hitting the ball.

It's a typical Doug Garrick design with much emphasis on well placed bunkers, they are dominant in most holes. The fairways are wide and the greens soft and receptive, if only I could have hit a few more in regulation. Putting ...oh well considering the inconsistency and sand you have to understand that it is a necessary part of the maintenance schedule. It would have been nice if it had been posted, I would have scheduled my round on a different day.

It's a fairly flat course and the strategic bunkering is what makes the design work, however both of us thought that many of the holes appeared similar in design and you felt like you were playing the same hole again.

This is a good course but not one of my favourites, I will try Ushers Creek next time.

Played this back on mid August 2009. Course was challenging and extremely fun to play. Played from the blues which adds an extra 500+ yards, but allowed me to use more of my clubs. Best game in 2 years on this difficult layout. Sand everywhere, but was able to stay out of most of it. Holed one out from the sand and smiled for the entire next hole.

Played this yesterday (Sept 1), awesome course. Difficult for the high handicapper but excelent. Considering the amount of rain we have had this year the course was surprisingly dry. The greens were soft but extremely fast. I will definately try to play this course again.

I have played this track many times this year and this course offers you a challenge every time out. I have noticed only one area which the course has a tough time controlling and that is the people who refuse to fix their ball marks. Some of the greens looked like they had been hit by a machine gun. Come on people it takes only 30 seconds to fix a ball mark and I know you too would be upset if your birdie putt hit one and missed the hole.

Played battlefield this past weekend. What an amazing course. The layout was great. The greens run true and you need to be able to hit the ball straight and play smart. The service was great from start to finish. The only thing that was a negative was that a foursome headed out ahead of me and my buddy so we got stuck waiting behind them for the first 4 holes then they finally let us go ahead, after that it was great no one ahead or behind us. You really have to get out early in the morning because we noticed as we were finishing there was a huge line up to tee off on the first tee. Overall what an amazing experience thank you LMG.

Played Battlefield on the Civic Holiday Monday. Got an awesome deal through LMG which included lunch. The course is in really excellent condition. I think I prefer the layout of this course vs. Ushers Creek perhaps because its a bit more forgiving although if you venture too far from the fairway there is some pretty ugly stuff waiting for you. Staff was friendly and the facilities were excellent. The burger at the snack house was very tasty. We would definitely play here again. The fact that I shot 40 on the front and 40 on the back made the experience even more memorable. Great course.

Played Battlefield twice in 3 days and had only 1 problem. They did nothing to the course in those 3 days, flags were in the same positions and the bunkers had been left alone so the fools that have not yet learned to walk on a golf course almost ruined 10 or 12 of the greens. Just remember because you get a cheap round of golf, that does not give you the right to ruin the course for everybody else.A wonderful track just a little wet.

Played this course for the SECOND time this year. A day after a big rain storm, the course was a little wet in some spots.

Arrived early and took adantage of the grass tee on the driving range. Nice to receive a free lunch as part of the green fees. Because of the storm most of the traps have rain damage, but will take a few days to get back into tip top shape.

Overall, the course is in very good condition. Playing on a RF rate, I tought this course was a great value and recommend this course as a "Must play" to all my fellow golfers. Well worth the drive from Oakville!

We were very impressed what this course excellent condition laid out well lots of bunkers. They were well guarded at the greens and landing areas on fairway. Greens are decepitively fast but true for putting. I am not to fond of the long grass but it makes it very challenging to play just keep it in the fairway. Yardage was well marked on sprikler heads to let you know your distance. It is also handing that a GPS can be purchase at the pro shop for 5 dollars.
The staff and service were excellent, club dropoff, driving and putting greens provided. 55 dollars with cart include is a good price for weekday.
The three of us enjoyed playing here. Great area to play golf in the Niagara area. We will gladly come back

Coarse in great condition -staff very friendly. We played early in the day and would have liked a better selection in the half way house. I umderstand burgers and dogs are available later in the day.
Generous landing areas from the tee - greens deceptivly fast and very undulating,as are the fairways. I would like to play here on a windy day, it would challenge shotmaking ability- or nonability.
We had a very pleasant day and will play here again - good value for the money!

Played June 26/09. Incredible course, perhaps the best public course in Southern Ontario. Even though it had rained heavily the day prior and for 1/2 hour on the morning we played the course still drained quickly. Only the bunkers had some water and the free lift helped my game.

Fantastic variety of holes and scenery. We finished in 4 hours even with the rain delay and the staff had offered a rain check to anyone who needed to leave.

Best course for the money in Ontario, hands down.

Played July 4th. Service upon arrival was excellent. I concur that the Club House is one of the nicest in the Niagra area. Food and view from the restaurant, is outstanding. The course is very much "links" style with a little bit of traditional thrown in. Fairways were in fantastic condition and even allowed for some roll (great considering the rain recently). Bunkers were ok, but still soggy. Greens were in very good shape, even with the amount golf played here. Rolled true but a little slow. It was extermely busy there (July 4th weekend) but pace of play was good. Finished in 4 hours. Were not "pushed", nor pushed. We too saw some deer on the back nine making for a great photo op. Staff, both in the Club House and on the course were very friendly. The Niagra area has some incredible courses and this is certainly one of their marque locations. GPS are available for rent (not sure why it's not included) and was helpful (sprinkler heads too far apart to get yardage). Played from the Blues and was more than enough challenge. I will be back this year but probably durng the week instead of the weekend. Had a great day and recommend this course hand's down!! Enjoy.

Played this course as part of a scramble tournament. After 1 hole, we were called back in by the horn. We were directed by the staff to park our carts in the garage under the clubhouse - a great idea because it was going to keep our carts dry. I found out later that we had a tornado warning!

The clubhouse is one of the best that I have been in and rivals those found on private courses. Lockers available at no fee. Wel stocked Pro Shop, although the pricing on balls was typically inflated. We had a great view of the thunder, lighting and rain and, to our dismay, witnessed the greens being flooded.

I am writing this review because of the fantastic condition of the course. Less than 30 minutes after the rain stopped, the course was very playable, with minimal puddling on the fairways. It was amazing how well the greens recovered. Good to know for those like me who drove and hour to play the course.

Great risk/reward course - the dogleg holes, especially around the ponds, tempt you to shape your drive or go for the distance. On this day, wind also came into play - requiring you to play a club or 2 stronger.

Lots of wildlife - first time I had to drive over 2 deer.

Back there on Canada Day - light rain in the forecast, but I know the course (and I) can take it.

Have to give this course a 5-Star rating when you get golf and ride courtesy of LMG for $55. Played here Tuesday. Course is still a great challenge and in near perfect condition. Fairways roll smooth as do the greens also. Staff friendly and courteous. Ranger and starter kept things going. Beautiful view after the round up on the patio. Worth a few extra pesos for a cerveza up there. Arguably the best course out of the 3 Legends courses. Get out here for $75. golf and ride take it!!!
