Ussher's was the first of a 36 for the day. Played a bit worse here but liked the course more than Battlefield in the afternoon. Fairways and greens were running quick. I like the rougher look of the sand traps here too. It's a toss up as to which Legends course to play...the're both very good tracks and the price is great for them. I like that the price is the same for both too...not like Hidden Lake. Staff were very accomodating especially after, when we wanted to play another round.

I played this course for the first time today, and I absolutely loved it. Other than the tee boxes, the fairways and greens were in good condition. Service here was very good all around, which contributed to my positive experience. My only negative was the fact that you had to pay for a yardage book, which would help you a lot on this course. Maybe they can add one to their website like most courses do these days. I will defiantly be back to play here again!

We played here for the first time this year on Sept 7th. Having played in past years this is one of my favourite courses around although conditions yesterday weren't the best I've seen.Service here is excellent from the guys at the bag drop to the starter to the staff at the halfway hut.
As some have mentioned some tee boxes have been aerated recently which is less than desirable but not a big deal for me (at least it wasn't the greens). Fairways were in respecatble shape and as always nice and short. Some fairway and greenside bunkers were a little less than perfect while others were in great shape. Greens were a little 'pocky' but that's mostly because people don't fix their ball marks otherwise they roll very true.
The layout at Ussher's is fantastic. The Blue tee's will play at about 6,700 - 6,800 yards and offer a true challenge for low and mid-handicappers alike. If you haven't played here before get out there and give it a shot. LMG weekend rate of $65, which included lunch this weekend, can't be beat for the quality of this facility.
We played this course on 09/06/09. The tee boxes looked as if they had just been aerated and were quite soft, finding it hard to get a good solid stance. The greens had quite a few divots, marks and bumps on them, which did not result in good putting. Fairway`s were in great condition though. The course was overall a nice course to play, quite challenging for golfers of all levels. For the price we paid, really, you can`t complain. However, this is not a course, judging by what we played on yesterday, that I would pay full price for.

This is a great value for the $55 green fee with cart. The clubhouse greeting was second to none. Tee boxes were very beat up but the fairways and rough were in excellent condition. The sandtraps were barely passable, some maintained very well others unplayable. The greens were fairly consistant in speed and the ball rolled true. The main thing we noticed about this course is the obstacle illusions from the tee box. Many holes looked more intimadating than they actually played. Overall, a very nice day on the links.
Played Usshers Creek Aug. 29th. The Course layout and design is fantastic. They had alot of rain in the morning before we got there so the course was VERY wet. Still a great round for the 6 of us that went. Some Greens were rough, but they played very true, most of time we played a break and everything seemed to stay straight.
All in all, I would play there again. For $65 you cant go wrong!

Played Aug 28 after it appeared they had a lot of rain recently. The fairways were longish and the tees in poor condition. That said, the layout is terrific. Every hole from the tee box is right in front of the player - excellent design ! Lots of opportunity & necessity to hit various shots. A much more interesting and far better test than Battlefield. I would go back ant time - if this coarse was a half hour closer to Toronto you would never get a tee time!!

Great golf facility. Course had taken on a lot of water from rains recently, but was still very playable. I played Usshers Creek. Long and tight, but very fair. Excellent greens and fairways. Greens were fast and rolled true. Stay out of the fairway bunkers. These things are DEEP. Best value was with LMG. Got round of golf, bucket of range balls and lunch for $55 US. Was on vacation in July when I played and am going back in October. Well worth it if your in the area.

This is quickly becoming my favourite course along with Battlefield. Tee times are generously spaced apart. Very little groundskeeping activity noticed during the round (they are up and out pretty early).
Along with most courses in the GTA, this course has been taking a beating with rain. While the fairways drain amazingly well, the bunkers are saturated and if you hit into one, you may need to take a drop. Greens are sneaky fast. Little or no Canada geese activity.
HINT: At the bag drop, drop one of your playing partners, too. That way, you can have him/her load the cart (and perhaps treat you to the round!) and drive the cart to the parking lot, which is closer to the range than the 1st tee. That way, you'll save some time. Do the opposite at the end of your round.
Legends Usshers Creek and Legends Battlefield through this website offer (to me) one of the best deals I have seen so far. Each course is consistently $55 anytime, and your not just getting a round of golf. With that price you're getting a power cart (could be faster, j/k) 18 holes and a warm-up basket on the driving range. Now if you're like me and don't swing the clubs to often in a season, then what better time to shake out the cobwebs then before your round of golf. Awesome course, amazing facilities. Take your time to enjoy the scenery, it's a beautiful drive down the niagara parkway.
Played this course with 7 friends on July 30th. What a awesome course to play, service was incredible, the course layout was well spread out and challenging. Would play this course again in a heart beat
This is a great track. Clubhouse and pro shop are very nice. It has that "very nice" feel as you drive in the road to get there. Course greens rolled very true. It's nice to make a putt and know where it's going without many hops along the way. Fairways like carpet and the holes were layed out nicely. NOTE: if you don't like windy conditions, this isn't the course for you. I hit 4 iron at a distance i normally hit 7 iron, and still didn't make it. Although i do like the links style on the back, the wind was tough to contend with. I would and will play here again. Value excellent at 55$ through LMG.

Played Usshers Saturday morning and had a great round. The weather was perfect and the course was playing tough but fair. The greens were in good shape, the rough was very tough and the fairways were consistent. There are so mnay great views at Legends and the service was excellent from the pro shops guys to the starters to the ladies at the halfway house. With the ramge balls and lunch at the turn you can't beat the value either. Will be back for sure.
An aboslute beautiful complex. Have played twice here the last month.
1st time, we had booked to play Battlefield, but the starter said they are running a little slow today, so we were more than welcome to play Ushers Creek as nobody has started off that course in some time. We took adavantage of it. Before the round the starter drove with us to the 1st tees, introduced us to our playing partners, gave us a low down on the course conditions, pin placements, general rules, and an expected duration of the round. (1st time I've ever seen this). It was great client service.
Both occassions it had rained during the day and during the round. It could have downpoured we were not coming in.
The fairways are in beautiful shape, wide enough on many holes to allow for some decent recovery for missing them, the rough is well rough, thick and full (not full of weeds like rough at other courses, the greens were gorgeous, and fair to play, tough but not impossible. The bunkers were wet, but still well groomed, and looked fine to me.
The layout of the course is very pretty, and the hazards to come into play on some holes which makes one become a smart player. Overall, it was a very true course. If you hit a nice shot you were rewarded. if you hit a bad shot you could be in trouble with water, sands, trees, rough, but on many holes they gave you a chance to recover.
Both rounds we played fairly quickly and never had to wait. The marshalls were non existent.
Prices at the turn where higher but not outrageous and the clubhouse is absolutely gorgeous. The entire Legends complex is one that every golfer should visit at least once a year. The rate is great too $55w/cart one day and red flag 43 (i think the other day), unbeatable.

Played here on Wed July 15 and was impressed from start to finish. Hole layouts were incredible with trouble placed in all the right places. Service was a little above average (bag person put bags on cart backwards...lol) but was friendly an informative. Rough was about three inches thick and not a weed to be found. Fairways were like berber carpet and Greens fast and true, not touchy fast and it rolls off the green. Would play again and again... my new favorite course

I played on July 4th, the couse is in great shape except for a couple of bunkers. I wish the starters would have told us they joined a single with us, he joined us on the first green without a drive or an approach. I wish the groups in front of us would use the sand and seed mixture supplied to keep the fairways in the shape they are ( too many non repaired divots ).
Can't wait to go there again.

Absolutely fantastic golf experience. The facility is one of a kind, so much land and very spread out courses. The bunkers as people mentioned were awkward as most bunkers had nice white sand, and others hard packed brown sand.
I was very impressed by the entire facility and will be back next weekend for battlefield.

I played as part of a foursome on Saturday July 4 and the course seems to be in excellent condition with the exception of the bunkers. The bunkers were very inconsistent, with some having a good quantity of soft sand and others being close to hardpan. We played from the Blue tees (on my suggestion) which turned out to be a mistake given the 200mph winds that day. The fairways were in great shape, the greens were fast and the rough was long and thick enough to cause problems. Actually, the rough may have been a little too long as there were times when we had to spend a few minutes finding balls just off the fairway. If you swing right handed and have trouble with a hook then you may want to bring a few extra balls as there is no shortage of water hazards, with the majority of them on the left side of the holes. One of the changes this year is that the driving range no longer has the balls left out in pyramids and instead you get a token for a small bucket. We played the round in close to four and a half hours but the pace was good and we were never left waiting on a tee box for more than a couple minutes nor did we feel rushed by the group behind us. Well worth the drive.

i played usshers creek from the whites today july 5th/09 the fairways were in great condition and the greens were fast and nicely cut. The bunkers on the other hand were hit or miss you either had a beautiful bunker or one that was just recently made from a mud pit, I saw numerous holes where the bunkers had large amounts of weeds and the mud from the last weeks rains had not been clean out, I landed in one of those bunkers and it was like hitting off stone. The only other thing I noticed was the amount of goose crap on the course due to the massive amounts of canadian geese that reside there. The service was great although i would like to see a shuttle from the parking lot to your clubs at the bag drop. All the staff was great and very helpful. Food was good beers were cold and service was fast. I will definatly go back again.

Played July 4 on a Red Flag deal late afternoon with my wife and two sons. First time at Usshers, and the course is excellent. The tee boxes created a fair test for all of us. Staff were friendly, professional and very helpful. Cart girl was by regularly. The greens had a few ball marks but that is the only concern I could list with the course.
Layout is interesting as there are a number of times where the creek or other water source guard the green. I like the fact that the layout is such that we seemingly had the course to ourselves.
It was our first time at the course. We teed off late and there were no troubles. As a result we played a family scramble on the back nine which gave us all more confidence. A testament to the course was that we all enjoyed ourselves. We all hit some good shots and did not feel the course was unfair.
Carts were excellent, bunkers were fair yet somewhat firm, greens rolled very true. Tee boxes, fairways and rough are all consistent and in good shape. I would like another chance at Usshers, when my game off the tee is more consistent.
This is a great LMG course and worth a 90 minute drive from the GTA with any red flag rate. My sons felt this course was similar to Lionhead in terms of condition and as a test of golf.
