Played here for the first time last week, and the course lays out very nicely. The fairways and tees were in good shape, but about half of the greens had been very poorly cut. It looked as though a rock got caught in the mower, and there were perfectly straight lines of no grass in the greens. The looked pinstriped! It was almost like putting over railroad tracks. The price to play the course is great, but it's worth a few bucks to play a course that takes better care of the greens. It will be a while before I play here again.

One of my favorite courses in NE Georgia. Played here on 7/13. The price is really good! On Mondays, they have a great special going right now. Some of the greens (mostly front nine) have been recently verti-cut, it appears, to make them even better. Even though they are a little rough in spots, they played pretty good. The fairways/tee boxes are in good shape. The staff here does a great job of making this a good golf experience!
I never saw the cart girl during my rounds. Of course, that could be because it was Monday. Don't know. Anyway, always a fun course to play.

Played on 7/11. Course is in pretty good conditions. A few of the greens definitely needs to be worked on but otherwise is rolling true. It's a good drive (coming from atlanta) but is a fun course. Probably not very fun for the more experienced players since there's not many bunkers and/or hazards to get you into trouble. High handicappers will enjoy this a little more, although it does play a little longer than most courses. I would play this more if it wasn't for the long drive.
BTW, saw cart girl over at least 6 times during the round. Helps if you're drinking on the course.

I played on Wednesday morning, so not too terribly busy. Course was in great shape overall for this time of year. Fairways and tee boxes were in great shape! Greens were a little burnt out and rough. Only problem I had was the foursome we got behind on hole 10. There was two of us and two of the guys in their group couldn't hardly walk, let alone play golf. Never let us play through, had the balls while we were waiting on the 18th tee to come back to the tee from the fairway and hit another tee shot after sitting in the fairway forever! This really rude play made my experience awful.
Played on 6/30... Double Oaks is the best value around! We teed off in the early morning -- LMTT has the best rates for this course!
I think Double Oaks is an great course. It has an unusual layout, including back-to-back par 3s, followed by a par 5 on the front nine. That being said, the layout of the holes are good with only a few blind shots. Having a knowledge of the course does have its advantages. The greens were in great shape, there were only a couple of greens that were bumpy or spotty. As mentioned in a previous review, there are several cart paths that lead to nowhere and should be removed. Hole #5 has a different tee box location than it used to, but hasn't been properly marked. It has a fully stocked pro shop with an excellent lunch deal (2 hot dogs, chips & drink for $3.75)! This course will soon be GPS-equipped for accurate distance and hole layout! This is an excellent course for the value! You won't be disappointed!

Played June 18th for the first time in a couple of years. The staff was very friendly and helpful as indicated in previous reviews. Started before a group outing and played in 4 hours. Thr greens were in good shape as well as the fairways. No cart girl on a hot day was one drawback. Course layout was good but wish they would finish the cart path on 18. Played for lmtt rate of $27. I got my $'s worth and will play again this summer.

Played here today with a buddy of mine and we found the course to be in great shape. The fairways were true and the greens were holding and rolling very true. The bunkers were raked, although some were damp for last nights rain, none had standing water and by the time we made it to the back 9 they had dried out and were looking just fine. The staff was absolutely awesome. We say the cart girl 4 times before we made the turn, and 3 more time on the back 9, this on a Friday when the course was fairly busy. A few of the Tee boxes were a little thin, but not to the point it was a problem. This is one of the best overall courses I have played this year, and the service was TOP NOTCH!!! I love the back to back par 3’s at holes 5 and 6. At the LMTT price of $25.00 this is definitely a deal, and we will most certainly be back to play this great course.

I brought a group of teachers to Double Oaks on Friday May 29th and we had a terrific experience. The course was in the best shape that I have seen it in a long time and the greens were flawless. Seth in the pro shop does a great job with customer service. We will come back as a group.

Played here this morning (5/29). The course is in outstanding condition! The greens are rolling great! The staff is always working hard to make it a great round of golf. The owner was out on the course today checking things and it's great to see the care that is taken to make it a good layout.
The new setup for holes 17 and 18 offer some challenging fun. On 17, from the white tees, if you make a decent cut shot, you could be chipping for an eagle.
Hole 18 offers a fun challenge. You can either cut the edge and try to lay up in front for a very short chip shot to get on or lay out about 140 from the stick and take it in from there. The 17th and 18th fairway are filling in very nicely!
Overall, it was a fun day of golf and you cannot beat the price. We played 18 holes in 3 hours so that's always a good round. If you haven't played here before, you should check it out. If you have played here, but haven't been since they redesigned 17 and 18, you'll enjoy it even more.
Double Oaks is a nice course! I've played this course numerous times over the past two years. The renovations to holes #17 and #18 have been completed, and they did a great job! The service we received was outstanding, we were asked to start on #16 to avoid congestion, and were escorted to the hole by the staff. The greens were in very good condition, and the pin placement made for difficult putting with several unjulating greens. The layout of the course is good, but we found numerous cart paths that led to nowhere. I understand this happens when you make as many changes to a course as Double Oaks has, but these should be busted up and removed or signs need to direct traffic a little better. Lastly, the LMTT value cannot be beaten. If you can pick up a tee time for nearly $25 at Double Oaks, you'll enjoy a great day of golf!

Played Double Oaks February 1 and considering it's the middle of winter the course was in decent shape. Greens were good as I play on overseeded bermuda at my home course. It was nice to play smooth greens and the wide open fairways lend themselves to favor a golf swing at this time of year. As always, the staff was very courteous. Pretty good deal on the hotdogs too! Will go back as the weather warms up. It's an hour and a half drive for me but well worth it at least once a month.

Played today, 2/10/2009, and course was in pretty good shape. The tee boxes were in good shape except for the par threes which could stand some sand in the divots. The fairway divots had been filled in from the weekend and were in good shape. The greens were a little soft from all the recent rain and were rolling a little slower than normal but were still rolling true as usual. Overall a really great value through LMTT. The course really looks better with the addition of the trees and the work around the lake and on the sand traps.

The greens were among the best I've played in the last couple of weeks. The fairways are generous and brown this time of year. This made finding the ball even in the fairway a bit of a challenge at times. It looks like they are preparing for some changes soon because many trees were cut down. But this was not a problem. The course could use a little more variety but it is a great bargain. I will definitely play here again.

I frequently play this course and would agree with Greg that the greens are in good shape for the time of year. I differ, however, in that I have always observed the staff to be friendly and helpful to all. The fairways, dormant this time of year, are in great shape. The course was altered by the previous owners so that they could lay out new home sites with streets, utilities, etc. It looks like maybe half a dozen houses have been built and sold with one currently under construction and one completed but, unsold house. None of the lots and/or houses detract from the layout of the course and would not pose a hinderance or a distraction even from the most avid slicer or hooker of the ball. I think they have a play all day price until the end of February.
Would like to see: 1. 100 yard vertical markers to go with the 150 yarders already in place.
2. An occasional cart girl.
3. More marshall presence for slow players.
4. More people repairing ball marks.
A GREAT VALUE FOR YOUR GOLF DOLLARS in this economy.

My friend and I played here on Dec. 06 and course was in decent shape considering time of year, but the greens were great. We have played here frequently in the past and the greens have never been better. Don't think I care for the new management, but the greens are the best they have been. They are adding a subdivision with some homes, I do like the new #16 but I might prefer the old layout. Not my favorite, but nice greens are appreciated.

Played this course for the first time on Oct.28, and I really enjoyed the round. Played from the white tee boxes, they were in good shape and good position. The fairways were a bit hard and cut tight, so you would get plenty of roll even with a short drive. The greens were in great condition even though they have been plugged recently. They rolled very smooth at about 12+ on the Stemp with hardly any ball marks at all. I was informed that they have made some course layout changes since being Sandy Creek, and are in the process of making a few more changes currently with one being hole 18. This course is very open but will not provide you with gimmies, you have to play it smart but it will not beat you up. The club house was very clean with ample room. The Pro Shop had a limited stock (a typical sign of change in ownership), but I'm sure they are working on that. They are doing a winter rate right now at $27 for all you can play which is a great deal for this course and I will make the hour and half drive back to play agian soon
Great course. It has some strange lay outs. I beleive they are changing due to new ownership. Greens are fast. Some of the par fives are LONG but the fairways are pretty open and forgiving. Good course for the price.

Nice value for the money. Good mix of holes that are tough (length) and risk/reward (#16 282 yard driveable par 4, #18 330 yard downhill driveable par 4). Some course layout changes led to SkyCaddie giving wrong yardage on #5, #6, #7 and #16. #7 tee shot is to blind landing area - more room on right/right center than you can see from the tee. #10 tee shot has bunker down lefthand side that is not visible from the tee. Greens were in good shape firm but rolled true. No beverage cart on course.
Booked tee time through LMTT and got a pretty good deal. Course was good as usual with large landing areas and very good greens. Very nice course for a relaxing round of golf. Under new ownership and they had just received new golf carts. Very friendly and helpful attendants.
