Played course on Sunday, July 12. Course was in great shape. Fairways were excellent. Greens were scarred some from Saturday play. Round delayed 30 min. due to rainstorm, however after course held up great and drained well. Only problem, no beverage cart and rude gentleman in clubhouse. All in all great round!
This is a wide open course and even I can play a round without losing more than a couple balls...this is one of the best courses in GA for the price. Course was in excellent shape and is well worth the $26 price if you are in the area.

The layout and condition of the course are the things that make you want to play this course. The course plays about 6700 from the blue tees, and the variety of length of each of the par 3s, 4s, and 5s makes it fun. You will probably use most clubs in your bag. I liked that there were a couple of tough, long par 4s, yet a couple of short par 4s mixed in. Some of the par 5s are reachable with good tee shots, and the par 3s have good character. You wouldn't expect a beautiful clubhouse for $26, and you don't get one. And you probably won't get much help from the staff during your round (no beverage carts and no rangers during the round - a ranger would have helped). But the course is fantastic, and with the low rates, well worth the drive if you live in the NW suburbs.
Beautiful and wide open course. Little far to drive from Atlanta but worth it for the the value and shape the course is in. Good layout and fairways and greens were immaculate. I will definitley play here again.

Played recently on a Saturday. Foursome had the first tee time and finished in under 3 1/2 hours. Decided to play another 18 for $12 more. What a deal. Overall we played 36 holes in about 8 hours. Always a great place to play with some tough but fair holes. Gotta love that 17th tee shot over the fireplace. Regulars know what I'm talking about.

I've played the course before when it was in premium shape. It was decent this time. The greeens are still a bit rough from the winter. I'm sure they will be fine as soon as things heat up. I played from the white tees and had a great time. The fairways aren't completely green yet but still are in great condition and easy to hit off of. Everytime I play here I like the course more . It's a good course that is well maintained.

I played here on April 12. The course was wet after a night of rain and tornadoes in the area. No damage that I could see, but the fairways were soggy and it was cart path only. My golf game took the day off, but nevertheless, this is an exceptional value for a public course.
The course is fairly open, but water does come into play on six or more of the holes. If you can keep it out of the water you should be OK, because there are not really any wooded areas to lose your balls in. The greens are in great shape. They weren't too fast when I played, but it was pretty wet so they could be quite a bit faster once it gets dryer.
Overall, a great course. I plan to return in better weather soon.

Play there all the time. Twilight is only 25 bucks. Always in good condition. Green always shot when I play. Great for a learner with its wide fairways or for and experienced golfers with it hills, sand, and water. Recommend any day any time.
Alway's a fun day at Fields.I have been playing there since it opened and have never been disappointed.Recommend it to everyone I know.Blew the horn a little early in my opinion at 7:15.He didn't seem to happy that we finished #18.This was the first time I had experienced this.

I played this course on DEC 13 and it is a great golf course. The clubhouse has a HUGE selection of clubs, balls, anything you need for your golf game. I played with a junior walking rate of 19.00 which is terrific for the condition of the course. Even though it was dorment, the fairways were kept up nice and could hit off of them well. The greens were just par. Nothing more, nothing less. Not very many water coolers, but in the summer it would be nice to have more while walking. Saw the cart babe once at around 12. The warm up facility is nice with a big chipping and putting green. There is also a range.

We played the day after Thanksgiving. $45 for a holiday weekend with a cart. The fairways are dormant but still playable. We played the blues. Even though at the end of November they were at the tips and really tested shotmaking with longer clubs. The greens looked shaggy but were fast and true. I love the layout of the course. There is great use of the landscape to make the layout challenging. The fairways are wide but if you are not in the right area off the tee your next shot will be interesting. All of the par 3's are hard to hit and then there is # 16 with water all down the right and either a long 2nd over water or a 3rd over water to a 2 tiered green. It is a great risk reward par 5 with plenty of visual intimidation. Straight drivers can press everything on 16.This course is a great value and should be in anyones rotation.

This was my first time playing at this course. It has made my top 5 with this one trip. Very scenic course with a couple of memorable holes, #16 & 17.
This course has obviously been well maintained and was enjoyable to play.

The course was in great condition. The fairways were in good shape and the greens were almost immaculate. They don't grab as well as some courses I've played so you need to allow for a little more roll on your approach shots.
We played blue tees on the front and white on the back. (Their blues are the furthest back.) The blues force you into very risky shots in order to make par. Playing from the whites, you can play aggresive to gain strokes or conservative to maintain par. (I was 11 over on the front and 3 over on the back.)
The staff was pleasant, helpful, and facilitating. The clubhouse is functional but not impressive. The range falls under the same heading of functional but not impressive.
Overall, I would highly recomend this course. The price is a deal for the level of maintenance and scenic value.

Played again on 8/27/08 and this is becoming my favorite course. The greens were in good shape, they have a couple that are not "perfect". The fairways were in excellent shape and the course itself can be very challenging. This has to be one of the best values period.

This course is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Always enjoy playing this course. Course knowledge will help with club selection especially on #8 which doglegs left. Driver will probably be too much unless the tee markers are to the right and you short cut over the trees to the left. A good staff, a great course, and an even better value. The drive is worth it.
Played on Thursday 7/31/08. Course was in great shape. Really enjoyed the whole experience. For the money one of the best deals in the area. Thunderstorm blew in and delayed play for about an hour. Started back 9 around 6:45 p.m. and still finished by 8:15 p.m. The fairways were in great condition and the greens were not quite as good but very "playable"

Very friendly staff which has been mentioned but worth doing so again. One negative about the clubhouse policy was no credit cards were accepted in the snack bar for the 'break after 9'. Had to go to the car for cash because of that, Kind of frustrating. I do not usually carry cash while playing but will remember next time there. Also it is good to know which holes that are 'cart path only'. It isn't posted at the beginning of the holes, only after you get back into the cart driving away from the tee box do you see the signs. This makes for especially slow play on hole # 10 because if you go right at all....you have a long walk from cart path to ball walking through a valley and over some big hills. One other negative if you are on a time frame is because the value of the golf is so good you have all stages of golfers, including many beginners which will slow your pace. Todays round took almost 5 hours and my partner and I both play fast golf. Plenty of drinking water is available which somewhat makes up for the semi-strict no cooler policy.
Played at Field's Ferry yesterday. The fairways were in outstanding conditions (except for #4, too many goose droppings). The greens were for the most part in pretty good conditions and they putted very consistent. I don't think you can beat the quality of golf course for the money anywhere in the area.

Played today and had a great time. Not the hardest course, but no one should be complaining about the conditions. Had one of my best rounds ever, alas, hole 16 halted the lowest score I would have ever posted. With a well placed tee shot, it is too hard not to go for the island green. Wish I had laid up. For a quality round, take a ride up I-75, you will enjoy this course for a great price.
