This was the worst golf course I have ever played. There was grass growing out of hard clay in the bunkers (no sand)! The greens were compacted dirt with almost no grass on them. The fairways had grass but whoever cut them didn't clear the grass off of them. I payed $17 dollars to play and if I was offered to play on this course for free I would turn it down! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! Don't pay for this course!

From what I've heard the courses owener has gone bankrupt, lost all of its equipment, and has no paid staff. Everyone that works there is on a volunteer basis and the only maintenance that gets done is by good samaritans on their own mowers. I have been out there in recent months and it is in terrible condition.

I've played this course many times over the last years. It was bought out a couple years ago and they put in new greens. What a waste now. I'd rate it a solid ZERO. All greens are dead, dead, dead. None of these current posts are exagerating at all. I played the first time in months June 21, 2009. It's really bad. No water on couse either. They did recently cut the fairways and I could tell it's been a while because the grass cuttings were really piled up a lot. Bunkers are a joke - they're greener than the greens. I was just amazed they can seriously take your money. Don't go there at all at any price, and I hate to say that really.

It's a shame we wasted time and money on this course. Can't believe they are still in business. It was like a cow pasture in the fairways and the dessert on the 'greens'. Ant hills would alter the puts.

The course reported conditions as "good" on 6/4/2009. That is an outright lie at best. (See other reviews, no need to restate specifics as to what is there) We met a group leaving after the first hole but decided to go ahead and form our own opinion. We played three holes and decided to leave and find another golf course. The best description of the course would be "closed and no longer maintained". From reading other reviews, it has apparently been this way since April 2009. It is wrong for the course to be representing it is open, being maintained and in playable condition. The only "open" part is the cash register. We have contacted LMTT and strongly suggested the course be removed from their available courses. It is a waste of time and money to ride out and see what once was a good golf course.

Course not taken care of at all....only 1st fairway mowed when played....Greens are rock hard dirt, all burnt up....And I thought I wouldn't lose any balls if I kept it in the fairway....what a joke....used to be a favorite of mine....not any longer
WE PLAY THIS COURSE QUIT OFTEN BUT AFTER THE LAST TIME I DON'T KNOW IF WE WILL AGAIN..I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE CONDITION OF THE COURSE.IT LOOKED LIKE IT HAS NOT BEEN MAINTAINED FOR AWHILE.THE FAIRWAYS WERE AWLFUL AND THE GREENS EVEN WORSE.MAINTAINING A NICE COURSE IS A MUST,AT LEAST IF YOU WANT TO STAY IN BUSSINESS

I know the Red flag rates seem tempting, but DON'T do it!!!! I wouldn't play this course again if it was free. I guess the course has just ran out of money; their not even trying to maintain this course. I have played bad courses before, but nothing near this bad; they should let inmates play here.

I have played a lot of courses all over and this course is in the worst shape of any I have ever played. I played there June 1st and I would rather play Bobby Jones while its flooded.
The tee boxes were not mowed so i was teeing off wherever i could put a tee and the grass wasn't too high.
I actually lost two balls in the middle of the fairway because the grass was so high.
The "Greens" (and i use that term very liberally) were rock hard, brown, and covered in goose poop, pine straw, and rocks.
There was no water on the course (nobody bothered to fill the water jugs) and at the turn in the clubhouse, they had no bottled water for sale, only beer...I love beer but it was 90 degrees outside and I was FRIGGIN THIRSTY!!
I could go on and on and on but I don't want to waste anymore time complaining about this course. I won't be playing there again, and I do not suggest you do either...

Play anywhere else. This is the worst kept course in Georgia. The course played better in the winter when everything was dead. Now grass is growing everywhere but the greens. Tee boxes look like the rough. grass and weeds throughout the trapps. Hole 9 was once a beautiful hole with a trap that stretched down the side of the lake. Now you can't even see the lake. Construction on 17. I would rather play the Griffin City course.

Its obvious that whoever owns the course is short on cash to keep it up...no lights on in the bathrooms, the course is way overgrown. Lost several balls in the fairway. the bunkers are knee deep in weeds and red clay. The greens are all burnt out. I would not pay more than $10 with tax and cart to play this course again unless you need to work on your game from the rough cause thats the entire course. on he 9th green i had to have a friend hold up a wire for me to put under....VERY BAD CONDITION> Was a great course last year. Good luck to them. Obviously has not been seeded or weeded or fertilized in months ar possibly year.

I have been playing this course for the last 5 years, sometimes weekly, and I'm sad to say I won't be back unless some major improvements are made. I played on 5/22 and the course was in terrible condition. Greens are mostly brown, fairways and tee boxes are smothered in weeds. It's almost as if the owners are sure they will be selling the course for land so they won't put any more money into it. Very sad.

What a shame. I hadn't played this course in a year or two but played in a tournament on Friday, the 15th. I kept my expectations low because this was never better then a "Good-value" course. I was amazed. It doesn't look like they have spent a single cent on the course in the last two years. Even with all this rain the greens are virtually dead. Only about a quarter of the course was even mowed. The cart paths are horrible and construction (or lack there of) is everywhere. It's really too bad because the layout is good and the place always had potential. This really isn't a golf course anymore. I won't be back.

Good design and layout but roll up in the neighborhood and you know what you're in for. Course has been "Clayton-ized" and is in disrepair. Overgrown fairways and tees. Terrible condition.

I played there in the 25 of April and I was really disappointed in how the fairways and the tee box look. I could not believe that this good course was going down so fast. In the past I really did enjoy playing there, I actually lost my ball in hole 2 in the fairway because the grass was high, I hope the clean there act up.

Fayetteville Golf Club is one of my favorite courses to play. It's out of the way so it is never crowded and the layout is great.
However, those are the only 2 good comments I can make about this course right now. I played FGC on 04/30/09 and the course was in the worse condition I have ever seen it in. I've been playing this course for the last 12 years and I have NEVER seen it this bad.
FAIRWAYS: Every fairway was covered with crabcrass and weeds. The fairways were also rock hard and we had to lift and place our balls on an actually "patch" of grass in every fairway that we hit.
GREENS: Well you really should be calling them "Browns" because the "Greens" were really brown. The "Browns" were actually puttable but like in the previous post were really hard and unless you brought your ball in really high, the "Browns" were not holding at all. To make matters worse there were several "Browns" with bare patches of dirt around the perimter of the "Browns."
BUNKERS: Weeds, Rocks, Red Clay........need I say more?
AMENITIES: Non-existent. No cart girl, the grill was closed so the only thing you could buy was a few snacks that they had in the clubhouse. And the clubhouse has a few shirts and hats that you can buy......that's it.
The funny thing is that they have an advertisement on the carts that says you can get an "All Inclusive" membership starting at $125 a month..........LOL
I happen to love FGC but I will not return until the course conditions improve. I have relatives that live in River's Edge and I go down there at least once a month so I will be keeping an eye on the conditions. Once they get this great golf course in better shape, I'll be back.

Played April 27, 2009 in a corporate tournament and this course was in horrible condition. Very much like playing out of a cow pasture. Fairways and tee boxes were over grown to the point where I have grass stains on the face of my driver. The greens would not hold a shot if it were dropped out of an airplane. I do not intend on going back to this place unless they get the mowers working. On a positive note, it had a very interesting layout and could be fun to play under better conditions.

Just finished playing here about two hours ago. This was my first time around this course and while I found it a challenge. The rains from yesterday had taken their toll. There was water in several fairways, traps, but shockingly the green were hard and fast. I don't hit the green often, but I did not have to repair one divot. I had a tee time, but that paired me with two others and we had a great time. However, we tee'd off 30 minutes after my tee time. The staff was very hospitable and I will be going back, I just have to make it did not rain the day before. If you play this course, remember #17 is a beast. Hopefully you won't have to play that hole facing 20 mph winds like I did today.
This course requires you to put your driver in the bag for most of the holes if you want to keep your balls. Once you've got the ball in the fairway, then the course is pretty fair. Good course management without steroids will do you plenty good here.

Course was dry, but in very good shape. The greens were well maintained and played hard and fast. This course has definitely been taken to a new level with management changing. This course used to be under-maintained and dirty. Now it breathes life back into the "cheaper" courses with an opportunity to play quality golf at a lower price.
Played Sunday and the course was wide open. When we arrived we found out we had been RAPED by LMTT. Paid $35 on Last Minute Tee times for a 12:11 tee time, had we just paid at the course it would have been just $29. So we paid $6 dollars EACH above regular greens fees PLUS the CONVENIENCE fee of $1.25. This is no reflection on the course just LMTT so be careful. The course is a bit rough around the edges with OB in play on at least half the holes. Greens were sanded and bumpy in November, what is up with that? None of the bunkers were raked, most lacking much sand at all. This is a very challenging layout and could be fun in the spring when the greens even out as I don't expect much growth over the winter. They had a decent grill, small pro shop sparsely stocked and a good driving range.
