Played Sunday the 19th, in the afternoon and it was very busy. I have played this course for years and continue to be surprised that management doesn't do more. Fairways were in nice shape and traps were okay, to on the thin side. Some greens and tee boxes were plain bad. Cart paths are rough. Ball washers missing. No 150 marker on many holes which made it tough for the long ball hitter playing with us. Seems like some minor attention would go a long way. Canongate has bought up a lot of southside courses and it has to be driving play to Orchard. Certainly that day it looked like the money was coming in. It's a value course that could be more.

Played Orchard Hills last weekend. Staff was freindly and allowed us to jump right on the course when we arrived. The first 9 (can't remember which one) was in really good shape with the greens looking really nice. Once we got on the back 9 (Logo) it was a different story. Several of the greens were completely burned up and we were shocked they were letting people play them. Honestly this is a good course when kept up, as we saw in the first nine. I enjoyed the layout, although its not really well marked from hole to hole. All in all I would say a 3.5 out of 5 for total experience mainly due to the greens on Logo being shocking.

Played the original 18 last Sat 6/6 - Orchard and Logo Nines. Service @ Orhard Hills is always excellent. The staff are very friendly and accomodating. The grill room is ok. Please note no beer sales on Sunday - county law. The course allows you to hit driver IF you hit it straight enough. The natives grasses will eat your ball if you are too wild. And for the first time in a few years due to recent rains the rough is growing nicely enough to make a big enough difference in the shot you are thinking about. Fairways are nice and lush. The greens are always great here. While they dont have big tiers or huge tricked up swails, they arent easy and can be very fast esp downhill. I was only in 1 bunker - it was fine. A couple of tee boxes need work but you are hitting off a tee so not a biggie for me. Pace of play is generally pretty fast too. Overall I recommend you play it at least once - make your own mind up but I think you'll have a fun day and go back again ( and again).
Enjoy

Fun course, if you get out here try to play the Orchard and the Logo. The Rock Garden is not a bad nine, it just is a totally different (tight, wooded, sharp dog legs) style than the original two nines and feels like it does not "fit."
With all the recent rain, course is in better shape than it's been for a long time. Fairways are not as hard as they usually are and the greens are more receptive, even if they're rolling slower than usual. Some crab grass on the Rock Garden nine, but not bad.
Make no mistake the Orchard and Logo nines are NOT "wide open." The monkey grass doesn't look all that bad from the tee, but hit your ball in there and it's GONE. Great views on the par 5 #6 on Orchard and the long par 5 (uphill 601 yards) #7 on the Rock Garden.
To the previous reviewer's points, the carts are indeed older and gas powered and the paths aren't in the greatest shape, but the overall condition of the golf course is good. Watch out for stones in the greenside bunkers. Today someone had organized an afternoon tournament / outing for which at least a couple of players turned up in jeans. Come on folks, jeans don't belong on the course, ever.
Overall a fun golf course with nice people working there.

This is an okay place. It's close enough for me to get a 9 in here and there in no time. Rarely if ever crowded. NO marshals, and pace of play has never been an issue due to little traffic.
Green are nice, kept up as best as they can, but can be abused on the more played nines, like Orchard and Rock Garden.
The tee boxes aren't terrible, but no one fills their divots. The fairways have some lush spots, and then they have some seriously bare and hard spots. It's hit or miss.
The carts are rather old, and gas, and the cart parths need some work. Follow the score card if your new to the course, because most if not all of the hole and yardage markers on the tee boxes are old, weathered, broken, or plain wrong.
With that said.. It's a fun course if your out to just swing away and sneak a few holes and beers in, before going home to tackle the "honey-do" list. Good people in the club house, nice practice green, and the prices aren't bad. Just don't expect something serious, because the guy in cut off jeans, and borrowing clubs in the group infront of you, isn't. :)

I played this course May 25th. I have passed this course many times in the past and from the road thought it would probably be a mediocre course at best. Also knowing it was a links course lead me to believe all the holes were side by side making it one of those courses where you might need a helmet. I have to admit I was pleasently surprised to find out that my assumptions could not have been more incorrect. The course overall is in great conditions with solid fairways and great lush greens. Better bring your best putting game. After about 4 days of solid rain these greens were still faster than any course I have played yet this year. I was again wrong about the holes being close together. I never one time saw a ball in our fairway. And there is even a good stretch of holes that are completly isolated. Layout is very fun for a first round but I look forward to playing a second time here because there were quite a few holes that you had no idea where the green was and had to hit blindly towards where you thought the green was located. Only drawback at all to this course is if you are drinking some cold ones, keep them in your hands while you are on the move because the cart paths with cause you to spill more than you drink and you know you don't want that. I am happy to have tried this course especially since it is about 10 miles from my house. If you are in the area definatly give this one a try.
Approximate time for 18 was about 3 hours. Course has three 9's

I played this course on April 4 and the course has a wonderful layout. Wyatt the golf pro is a class act. You simply won't find too many fine gentlemen like him around. Fairways are trying to grow in but they were ultra-thin in certain areas. The greens a just fine but they weren't up to their usual par shape. They were kind of rugged. But once they get rolled thay should be rolling at their usually fast and quick pace!

Played 4/4/09. After all the rain we had we expected the course to be nasty, but was presently surprised at how great the course was. Still needs a little more grass in some fairways, but the greens were great. They do an excellent job getting groups out and keep pace of play perfect. Highly recommend this track.

Nice course, Rock Garden and Logo are the better of the 3. Orchard is the "links" style, and runs by the roads and interstate.
Decent tee boxes, nice layout, although the signage for the orchard needs to updating and clarity to find the next hole.
Rock Garden is the best there, wooded, traditional, and has some nice Par 5's and 3's. Green are true, not pot marked, but it's hit or miss with the weather and traffic. The busier they are, the more yuck on the greens obviously.
Range is small, and the putting green is nice.
Staff is friendly, helpful, and the rates aren't bad at all.
Carts are gas, and need some updating however.

Excellent conditions today. Greens are in great shape and still green. Fairways are nicely groomed and even the rough isn't that bad. Great deal for a round. Would recommend to anyone who would like a cheap quality round of golf. Staff is extremely nice and help out. Not too crowded and they try to space tee time starts out so no one runs up on another group. I love the Par 3 by the Interstate on Logo.

Played this course for the first time with Jamhuri Classic Tournament on Nov 8th. We played from the whites so it played much shorter than anticipated. Nice layout for links style course. The wind was a factor as I hit a few in the water. The driving range is small so I had to wait around for a station to clear. The greens are in excellent condition. The fairways are lush. If you are looking for a great links course in Atlanta don't pass up Orchard Hills in Newnan.

Links style play on 2 of the 3 sets of 9. The Rock Garden 9 is a more traditional layout. Watch out for wild shots on some of the holes on the Logo and Orchard b/c some holes are close together. The rolling hills and long grass especially in the summer months offer an authentic style of Links play. Greens are generally smooth and nice. Play this course if you want a taste of Links style golf.
This course offers 27 very open and very playable holes. Even for the novice its a great course to play. Even slices aren't off course. The staff members are very friendly and are always willing to help and assist.
Playing Orchard and Logos the way they rotate members is great! This way you aren't pressed from being followed too closely or jamming up on top of the golfer(s) in front of you. Very serene and overall play of this course is wonderful. The small hills and bunkers on this course offers a challenge, but then again golf should not be putt-putt.
Be aware the course map on your score card shows no water on the 8th hole. However, the lake that is at the end of the 3rd hole on Orchard is the same lake splitting the 8th hole. Also, the 8th hole on Logos is quite damp and is not made of sand, its our infamous GA red clay and is more prevalent when teeing off from the blue markers. Again over all this course is great!
My father and I play this course quite often. My only draw-back is the Irish style roughs that are unforgiving when you happen to slice or chip too far into them and the connect one hole to the other often. But I Love playing here and will continue to play here. Very nice when booking an outing with your family or business meetings.

Played 10/21/08; Great course! My son and I have played here three times and each round was very enjoyable. The tees were in good condition and the fairways were dry but good due to a little added rolling of the ball. The greens are fast but great if you enjoy golf. Be careful teeing off due to the link style rough. This can cause ball loss. Try to stay in the fairway. The Logos 8th hole tee is a bit muddy so watch your step if you are teeing off from the blue. Overall this is a great course to play. The staff is very courteous and helpful.

As of Oct. 16th you can sum up Orchard Hills (Orchard 9 to Logo 9) in one word...Dry! But before you click on to the next course...dry isn't all bad. You will get some extra roll on the fairways which will help your driving ego and the ball still sits up nicely. The bunkers are also very playable due to the fact that they haven't seen rain since...well, you know. The greens are rolling very consistent and look nice and healthy. They don't have much undulation but again this can be a plus and help you post some good numbers. It does appear that management should consider work on some of the cart paths and yardage markers but assuming you aren't paying $50 to play there it is a good value and an enjoyable layout.
I've only been playing for about 5 months now, and this course is the one i play the most. mainly because it is close to home. the fairways are great, and the course itself is great for someone like me just starting off. a few of the greens need some help. like hole 3 on The Logo. Though it is fot the most part easy, The Rock Garden is definitely the hardest,

Course was in great shape. Got in as a Onesome right before a tourney and conditions were amazing. There was dew on the beautiful greens...ahhh such a wonderful time to play golf in the fall. The course is not very complicated or difficult. Most holes are straight away but very hilly. The par 3s are really great and give you a chance for some nice birdies. I even appreciated the gas-powered carts...much more power than regular electrics and it got me through my round faster. Not a lot of people were out playing, but everyone was nice. The employees are very courteous and helpful. I worked around them cutting and drying the greens and dunes with no issues whatsoever and was able to finish in about 2 and 1/2 hours.
Two of us played on the twilight ($30) Friday and had no problem getting on. The course is a little worse for wear on a few holes but with the drought that's to be expected. The rock garden seems to be the hardest hit of the three courses. The greens are in good shape and would be even better if players bothered to fix their ball marks. This course is extremely forgiving. The wide open set up lends itself to a confidence boost for the inexperienced player while playing from the back tees gives the better player a decent challenge.

Played 9-23 at 10am. As a twosome, played in just over 3 hours. 75% of greens in good shape, with good speed and consistency. Fairway was a little dry, but that allowed some roll. Great value and easy to get around quickly.
