This is still one of my favorite courses in the North Atlanta area. I don't get to play it as often as I like, but really enjoy it when I get back. They are currently updating the clubhouse so there is some construction going on. Range balls are included if you are there early enough. The course layout is great. The par 5s are reachable giving you a chance to score well but also have plenty of trouble causing some big numbers. The par 3s vary in length and require accuracy. There are some short par 4s for birdie opporunities but some difficult ones that you just want to get your par and move on.
As for the course, it was in great condition. The tees/fairways were doing really well considering the heat this summer. The bunkers were soft and consistent throughout the course. The greens were in great shape. You can tell they have given them plenty of water to make sure they don't burn up. They were soft from the extra water, making them easier to hit.
Overall, this is a place you have to visit if you haven't been before. Watch for the LMG specials.

Very nice course here...actually named Achasta now. The layout reminds me of some of the holes you see during the Masters with the collars around the greens mowed closely so that you can play various shots.
Great fairways, great greens, pretty good tee boxes. I don't really have anything negative to say about this course other than the fact that it's somewhat pricey...but you get what you pay for. One other good thing about this course is that it's one of North GA's best kept secrets and doesn't get a ton of players, so you can easily pull a 3.5 to 4 hour round with a foursome on the weekends.
I would highly recommend playing this course at least once. It's in my top 5 favorites for GA and I've played about 100 courses in GA including TPC Sugarloaf, Atlanta Athletic Club, CC of Ga, etc.

Absoulutely beautiful course. A little on the high end for me. It is very challenging yet rewarding of good shots. The course was in great condition. The river that winds through presents some difficulty but it is beautiful.

I drove up and teed off early on Father's day, played 18 in around 3 hours. Beautiful course with friendly and professional staff. Checked with the clubhouse for a replay ($25.00 by the way) and they suggested if I wanted they would get me in ahead of several foursomes. Total day for 36 holes was one of the best values for golf anywhere. With a little planning it is really and enjoyable and scenic course.
