Played here on Wednesday the 22nd. The course seems to be in good condition. As usual some of the tee boxes are still a little thin. The greens seem to be in much better shape than my round here earlier in the month. They are a little softer (I actually had to repair several of my ball marks) and are still running at a good pace. No cart girl on Wednesday. The rest of the staff was friendly as usual. They must be running some sort of promotion or gave me a twilight rate. It was $25 which was less than the LMTT rate that I had reserved.
Played Callahan on July 17th. This was my first time playing the course and I was a little skeptical because the website doesn't have many pictures. I thought the course was in good condition. Greens were also in good condition and rolling very true. Fairways were a little bare in some spots but overall were good. There are holes that were challenging but fair and a good bit of elevation change throughout the course. All the staff I encountered were very nice. Overall, I really enjoyed the course and highly recommend you play here. If you can book through LMTT it's even better. I will be back to play again soon.

This is a great course for the price. The layout is great... goes from open holes to target golf and back again.. only a couple of holes that are unfair but if you can stay in the fairway you can go low! Not many yardage markers in the fairways so you will have to guesstimate alot unless you bring a rangefinder.

Played the course again on Sunday and for the 2nd week in a row they had the FMB pin placement. Why is it if you play on Sunday you get the Front Middle Back pin placements. I wish they would change this up so that it would be the same every Sunday. I will say the pin placements were not as close to the edges as the week before - THANK YOU. The greens are getting a little crusty - I hope they get some rain soon or they could loose them like other courses. I am still not convinced this is a great value but I will give it a good value because of the location.
Took my son and father-in-law Saturday evening to squeeze in 9 holes (it was the first time my 8 year old had did anything but hit at the driving range). We had a great time, I tried to plan an outing so my son could learn the game without pressure and it was perfect for that. We tee'd it up at 6:30 and didn't have anyone behind us the whole time. I do wish we could of had a little longer to play (carts had to be turned in at 8:30 and they made sure we did- I think we could have played another couple holes) They gave us a good rate and it was a day my son and I won't forget...(the greens were a little fast but the course overall was in good shape for the middle of July)

I played this course on Monday 7-6-09. There was a golf league playing so we had to play the back nine twice which was annoying since we didn't even get told that when we made our reservation. Greens were actually pretty nice. Not to fast or slow and the pins had been moved since the last time I had played here. Fairways were in decent shape and there is only one blind shot from the tee that doglegs to the left. Compared to other courses in the area this a much better value for the money. Only complaint is I never see the cart girl before 10AM or after 3PM weekend or weekday. Other than that no complaints. Very capable course to play for the average golfer with a few challenges for better players.
I play this course 2-4 timesa month. Greens can be a little hard. Fairways are in good shape and fairly wide. As long as the rough is cut down you will find all but the most erratic of tee shots. Good mix of callenging and standard holes. Only problem I have is having to wait for slow golfers. But if you call the clubhouse they will send a marshal and warn them and follow then for a hole or 2 to make sure they play faster. Great deal for the money and location.

I agree with the last 2 reviews about the pin placements. I am also questioning why some people consider this a good value after leaving it a bad review. Value does not alwasy equal $. If you want a good value try Stonebridge and Fields Ferry.

Come on guys, what's up with the pin placements? It's been like this the last three times we played. All but two or three were 4 paces from the edge. Paired with the slick greens some approach putts went off the green. At least this time the Blues were not paired with Blacks as they were two weeks ago.

As my name says I am an average golfer and not a touring pro. I do not expect to hit every green or make every put, but it would be nice to to have to hit into Pro pin placements. This is not a joke, but all but 3 pins were less than 4 paces from the edge of the green. This was compounded by the extremely hard green surfaces, which made you bump and run every shot into the greens. I think this is an up and coming course and for the money it is a still, but be ready to play a different type of golf.

It is a great course for the money 38 bucks for 18 holes. First hole is a little tricky playing through the power lines. Greens are hard and fast so watch your putter but overall I will continue to play here.

Played here on 6/29. Course is in good shape. A few tee boxes are a little thin on grass but the aeration holes on the greens seem to be filling in nicely with little or no sand remaining on them. The greens are hard as one reviewer pointed out. I think I repaired 1 or 2 of my ball marks the whole day. Greens are rolling at a good speed. Not slow and not roll it off the green fast. No cart girl today so service gets a "ok" rating. Over all one of my favorite courses for the dollar.

I played on 6/11/09 for LMTT fee of $27. Some of the tee boxes were in bad shape (not much grass), but that did not affect our play. Most of the blue tees were moved back to the tips, or black tee boxes. The additional distance made the course play long due to rain the night before. The greens were in good shape, but were sandy and still had aeration marks. The greens were surprisingly hard, so I recommend you plan shots for bump and run from the front fringe. I lost a few strokes from balls skipping off the green. I do recommend this course to my friends because of the low cost to play. You should give it a try.

Had tee time @ 11a, Sat. and was already 20 minutes behind even with the great weather. 5+ hour round and we played through two groups. For $38 on the weekend, not a bad deal but can be a chore waiting. Come out and just keep up. Nice layout, greens needed to fill in after aeration.
Great value for the money. Greens need to fill in after being punched, other than that everything else is good. Understand this is not a country club, it is a public course and you may experience slow play or beginners on the course so be patient and just enjoy your time on the course.

Fairways slowly greening up. Greens are fantastic, and roll true. Nice challenge from the back tees. Watch way the hills are before putting. A great value, espically since Lake Arrowhead has dropped the lower rates in the afternoon, $45 after 3:00pm.
Callahan was a great course to play especially for the deal. The course was challenging along with a good variety of holes and challenges on all holes. The 1st and 10th holes had to be the worst, I lost 2 balls on the 1st hole due to the nasty rough this course has. The only thing I would have to say as far as negatives on this place is the lack of a cart girl(Was dying of thirst) and it needs more ball markers on the holes. Other than that, a great place to play and I will be back. And for 38 bucks on a weekend, you cant beat the value.

Played Callahan Golf Links on the 21st. Fairways are greening up, grass still dead in areas, but otherwise not that bad for the season. Greens are almost perfect, a true roll. In my opinion probably the best greens in the area.

We played on April 12th Easter Sunday Afternoon and while the course was crowded a little and pace of play was slow due to cart path only conditions, a good time was had by our 4 some.
This is a new course and the family that owns it are doing things right. This is the best Marshalled course the public can play. The Marshall actually moves people along. The greens have been aeriated and are recovering nicely. Most important the greens are a consistent speed. If you stay on the maintained part of the golf course it is a pleasure to play, hit a really off line shot and save yourself time and tee up another ball, because balls in the places now maintained are near impossible to find lost balls. This summer this course will be one of the finest public courses in the N. Atlanta area. Do yourself a favor and play up there before everyone discovers what a pleasure it is.
