Played July 19th. The course was in good shape. The greens were extremely fast. In this area one of the best courses around.

This is a great course. Recently under new management, the new owner is making great strides to turn this into an immaculate course. The front nine and back nine are now switched, and parts of the course that used to be junky hazard areas are now a fairway and better integrated into the layout of the course. The fairways, greens, tee boxes, rough, and bunkers are in great shape. Greens rolling smooth and true, and quite quick. Other improvements coming soon, are further leveling out of the tee boxes, and primary and intermediate cuts of rough.
I really enjoy the layout of the course, it's fun and challenging. It's a hike from Atlanta, but when I'm only paying $30 for a course in this quality shape, I don't mind.
I really enjoyed this course. This was the first time I played the course and I was very pleased. It's a bit of a drive, but worth the trip! It was Mother's Day, so I can't speak on how much use it gets on a normal Sunday, but we only saw 2 groups, and one of those were just on a passing hole. Greens were soft because of recent rain, but I can see these firming up really nice in the heat of the summer. I will definitely return to Oak Mountain soon!

This is an enjoyable course with a nice layout. However, the downfall, in my opinion, is price. Living in Carrollton, I would play this course a lot more often if not for that. It's tough to enjoy your round when you feel like you've overpaid. I have to say, though, that they have taken a step in the right direction by lowering their Monday greens fee to $30, which is a bout right for this course.

The greens are healing nicely from aeration. Fairways haven't greened up yet. Rarely get a fluffy lie in the fairway, but they'll come around pretty soon. Good course for the money, when everything greens up.
Played on 3/22, for the first time at Oak Mountain, even though geens had just been aerated. The greens were a little sandy because of this, but not bad. Had a great time. Plenty of dog legs left and right, which made it more challenging. Loved the layout of the course. Will play it again real soon. A bargain even at full price. Saw the drink cart come by several times during the day.

Great course, one of my new favorites. The people are very friendly. Great rates here. Nice carts too.
Marshalls seem to be controlling the course nicely. They do alot of cart path only to maintain the course so nice, even in the winter. Green tees and greens this time of year.
The fairways have nice flat areas. Som drainage issues after a heavy rain, but overall, okay. The greens are fantastic. Some of the fastest, and truest around I think. Very tough putts if your not close, and with 6 pin locations, they challenge you!
Warning though; after a good rain the bunkers become lakes, and do not drain AT ALL! It's an instant greenside water hazard deep enough you will lose a ball.
Nice long par 3's, elevation changes and nice amount of creeks and water into play.
A little too many blind drives and dog legs I personally think, but it makes the round challenging.
Nice views, great condition, nice people. Nice clubhouse with fast service through the turn.
I'll be back alot!

I drove 2 hours to play this course for the first time with some Atlanta area friends. The course is in really good shape but they need to seriously look at adding a ranger that is interested in doing his job. The foursome in front of us (5-some if you count the 6 year old that would hit an occasional shot) held up play horribly. When we asked the ranger who finally came around if there were holes open if front of them he told us there were two. Asked if he'd mind saying something to the group ahead and he declined.
I won't say that I'll never play there again, but 5 hour rounds watching elitist jerks is not my idea of a good time.
Played couple days ago for first time and really enjoyed it. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape for this time of year. Course has a lot of doglegs and some blind shots (which is good).
Only downsides and these are very minor. Some bunkers were flooded, but I didn't land in any so it didn't bother me. And the drive out there is about $10 in gas. Friendly staff out there and I will try to get out there again soon.

Played Today and this course earned the first 5 I've ever given. The fairways are near perfect, the greens slightly better than the fairways, the traps (which I visited more than I prefer) were raked and the sand was consistent. The beverage cart was by us 5 times in a 4 hour 15 minute round. The only complaint and it is a tiny one, is the grass on the tees is a little too long, of course this is because the lack of rain and is simply to protect the course.
Still the best value for the quality of courses and cost of play in the Atlanta Market.
This is my new favorite course to play. It is in great shape, challenging but not too hard. LMTT prices are great and there is hardly ever a wait on the course.
The course is not in bad shape considering the current weather conditions as of 6/20/08. Most greens have some flaw, but do not however affect many putts. The greens are also a little bouncy, but conpared to most courses they are in great shape. Overall, a very fun course to play, as well as challenging. A great value for a course rated a solid B
Played a couple of weeks ago. Great course. In Excellent shape. Challenging course and great LMTT value.

I played Oak Mountain in a scramble tournament on 6/09/2008. Almost all of the damage caused by the two tornadoes that struck several weeks ago has been cleaned up. There is tons on damage to houses along the course, but the course was in fantastic shape.
The staff are very friendly. As I said, the course is in terrific shape with the exception of a couple greens. The green on hole 15 had a long gash cut into it making difficult putts even more so.
Great Course!!! Didn't even know the course existed until I arrived, and was I pleased. Great layout and very accessible. Would be beneficial to play with someone who knows the course the first time. Props to the grounds crew for the work they have done since the two tornados that have come through in the last few weeks. Definitely recommend.
