What's this?
I read some of the previous comments and can't believe we played the same course...

Had never been there before so I call the Proshop for directions and the polite person could not help other than to direct me to Club Drive. I was actually on the intersecting street and the guy didn't know.

The Range is a mess, dirt areas to hit to with balls that are scuffed like the kind you get a putt-putt course. Need some range balls from this decade.

The Course is decent layout, but the greens are shaggy and it's terribly marked. I thought the "red" plaque in the fairway was 100 yard only to walk up to it after a miserably short shot to find out that that particular one was marked 117 yards. C'mon guys get with the red 100/white 150/blue 200 program that the rest of the planet uses!

Greens were ridiculously slow, aerated a couple weeks ago but not top-dressed/sanded. indentures where the grass was growing back made it impossible to make any putts of distance.

Cart paths were upturned and heaving from tree roots for the entire 18 holes. Needed Advil immmediately after my round. Or I could have mercilessly ridden all over the coursee to which the tire tracks and work grass attested to with callous disregard for the proximaty to the greens.

Now the previous reviewer's comments about minimal crowds make sense. The course is a terrible value so I suspect the other 2 groups on the course had never been there before either.

I play 75 rounds a year and this was by far the biggest rip off I've experienced since high school.

Played Saturday May 2nd on my out down to south Georgia. It's a really nice course, very private and not crowded at all. I have to say it was nice to not have to deal with crowds and backed up courses for once! We had a nice and quiet round with no one bugging is. The staff was very friendly. The fairway were very nice and grown in, some were pretty narrow with old trees grown in. Greens were spotless no ball marks at all, smooth. The only thing that was a bit out of shape were the cart ways, which were getting damaged by tree roots, and need a little work. The course is in good overall condition and doesn't get much play so the greens especially are nice.

Regarding the layout...it it old school IMO, dogleg central with many tricky holes. Front night is dogleg left dominated and the back nine is dogleg right dominated. I got killed on the front with my sliced but it played easier on the back. I can only remember a couple of straight par 4s or 5s. So you gotta be able to work the ball both ways, unless you can just bomb it over those trees, which is tough when you play there for the first time and don't know the course. There are 2 tough par 5s including the 18th which is very dangerous.

I've played this course twice recently and love the fairways and greens. There area couple of monster par 5's but I love the course and plan to play it again soon.

Played here again for a tournament. This time in warmer weather. Fairways are green as they can be. The Greens are in great condition and fast. Careful with reading the greens. I caught myself reading the greens incorrectly on occasion, because a dip in the green can actually still keep the ball straight. The rough has been cut just enough to see the top of ball if you land there. It will take some looking, but you will be able to find it unlike the last time I played in the fall when the rough was eating balls like the abyss in the ocean.

Clubhouse has specials on beers for Natty Light. Great for loosening up when you tensed up on the front nine, and looking to redeem yourself on the back. Never crowded. Always peaceful, and great pace set after the first hole.

Always be careful on hole # 18, par 3, the signaturehole that you see on pictures. Distance should be good with a 5 iron for avg. golfers, but the Pin is farther than it looks. With a good aim and shot, a 5 iron will have you land about 10ft from the pin, but the green does slope slightly toward the water.

If you want to play safe, aim right following along the cartpath and you can still make it on par
