IT IS WORTH THE DRIVE. Played on Monday Sept 7th late day. Make sure you have a map and great directions cause this course is hard to find with minimal signage along way. The clubhouse is a very clean portable with a nice deck and view of Rice Lake. The staff is incredibly friendly. Enough of this lets talk golf, the course is beautiful and stunning with views of the lake on almost every hole. Its tranquil, cottagey (if thats a word) and peaceful. Lots of elevation changes on every hole, its like every shot is either uphill or downhill. All types of shot making required. The tee boxes and fairways aren't in the best of shapes, they are hard and dry which is great for gaining extra distance on drives. The greens are true and in great condition and the rough is rough. This course is a blast to play, has four tee boxes so it can really challenge you. Not your everyday course but if you are in the area it is a must for the value. $45.00 with a cart on a holiday. If they improve the overall condition and make a more up-to-date clubhouse this course could be a real head turner and a top course in Ontario. It's Worth the drive you won't be disappointed. I will definitely be back when in the area!

This course has come a long way in the past two years but is still very immature. The fairways are not well kept but the greens are in decent shape. No beer cart girls to be found! I have to say that it does boast some of the nicest views I have seen in Ontario. The layout has a good variety of holes with challenging rough and a fair amount of water. I hope they keep working hard to improve the conditions.

Bellmere Winds is a cottage course on the North shore of Rice Lake. The front nine is a newer nine and has not fully grown in yet. They run on a minimal greens staff at the course, so, fairway and rough conditions aren't great. However, the greens are in good condition. The driving range is OK - some flags - some grass - nothing special. The shop has hot dogs and beer - what you need - but, again, pretty low key. The staff are very personable and friendly. This is not a $100 course in Whitby or a $150 course in Toronto as far as amenities and course conditions go.
Now, onto the good stuff. This is one visually spectacular golf course. Their is a beautiful view of Rice Lake from virtually every tee. The first, second, third and tenth tees offer panoramic views over the entire lake - truly beautiful. The tenth hole drops fully 100 feet to the fairway and is unbelievable. The layout of the holes is great. There is great variety - you can use every club in the bag. When you are done, you can sit on the patio and enjoy and beer and a hot dog for under $10 and overlook the lake, the surrounding countryside, and the entire golf course.
From my way of thinking it's pretty good that $50 gets you golf, cart, a couple of beers, a hot dog, a fair test of golf, and a visually stunning layout.
We played on a Sunday afternoon and by the time we hit the back nine, we were the only people on the course. I guess everyone else was headed back to Toronto from their cottages.
I rate Bellmere as definitely worth the drive.

Played here for the first time, as we were looking for something new while at the cottage. We were quite surprised with the course. It has a great layout with some beautiful holes. As others have said the front nine still needs some more time for the fairways to thicken up. The greens were all in decent shape with all being firm and slow, but that will also change with time. We saw the "refreshment" cart twice in our round and a couple more times would have been nice but not a real concern. The back nine was in much better shape tee to green with the greens still firm and slow. Overall the course was a very nice surprise with very friendly owners and a relaxed atmosphere. We will certainly put it on our list of courses next summer to see how it matures. The signage, as mentioned, is very minimal so make sure you know where you are going before you set out.

This was the first time we'd played this course since they finished the second nine. I don't think you can find a course with better views in Ontario! The greens are in good shape, the fairways are young and will continue to improve and the rough is rough! Definitely a course we will return to.

I played this course in fall of 2007 and was pleasently pleased with the value we received. The green fees were excellent, and the personel were friendly. This course still needs a year or 2 to fully grow in but compared to the price of Muskoka golf its a great deal and a lot of fun. Greens were good and the view of Rice Lake is beautifull
