Played the Myth for the first time this past Sunday. I was overwhelmingly impressed with the course and can not believe I was able to play such a nice course for under $20.

Hard course but worth the money. Great greens, great layouts and everyone was pleasant and enjoyable.

First time play found the green to be extremely tough. Pin placement always had hole on slope where ball would roll off green if it didn't stick. Some narrow openings off tee, but not difficult. Rough is unforgiving. Two right angle dog legs. Maybe second time will be a little easier on my score. Staff was exceptional!

Fair price; course is in decent condition. Nice change of pace from the wide open format of many local courses.

Lets start with the positives, the course layout was good if you looking for a challeging course. A couple greens were little unrealistic based on hole placements. I blame that on the greens keeper. The issue I have here was the clubhouse proceeded to send out a group of 5 players, then us (4-some) followed by another 3-some. All we did on the front 9 was argue with the 3-some for hitting into us on a consistant bases. The clubhouse initiated this start which should have never happen in the first place. Are tee times were twilight rates which you can tell the golfers were pushing to make the turn. We didn't even bother to continue. We complained, but what is a 18yr really going to do .... probably nothing ... ah ah I'm Sorry. My advise here is play at a cheap rate through last minute golfer thats all its WORTH or don't play at all. There are a lot of courses out there you can play for the same rate.

Beautiful layout for a course, the hills are a bit much, the greens are challenging but some were rediculous if you need to stop within a two foot area or roll of the green pros don't even deal with that. Last minute pricing always a plus made it affordable, to bad that didn't include concessions because 24 dollars for six beers,is just gauging to make up for the price of golf I thought I was at another kind of mens club. I like the varying distances but the fairways are dry and tough I use to rant and rave about this course but it seems to have plateud. Still a good value stay away from the clubhouse and decide for yourself.

Played the Myth two weeks ago and had a decent time during my round. This course could be considered underrated; it is not in the best shape, but there is a skeleton of a great golf course here. It will challenge golfers of all levels, yet will be a fun and forgiving at the same time.

Service: Arrived at the clubhouse and after some uncertainty about when we could get out and then off the front or back, we got to the first tee. Played behind two foursomes, and being in a fousome, the day moved slowly but not unbearable.

Condition: The course was not in the best shape, but weather as of late did not help. A saturated course effected the greens, but helped keep the ball in play as well.

Clubhouse/Amenities: The clubhouse is decent, even with a course that is off the beaten track. It is not in the best shape, but the all the staff was friendly and helpful. Few amenities, and even a dirty cart took away from the experience, but seeing the cart girl often, good food at the turn, helped.

Course Layout: As previously stated, the course has a great set-up. If upkeep to the course was better, it would have been a very memorable round. I cannot take anything away from the layout, even if conditions were not.... pristine.

Greens Conditions: The water did not help, and they seemed to have not been taken care of recently.

Value: It is a bit pricey, but the course layout was well worth it. It can be affordable to the average golfer. This is a course worth playing, and finding a twilight or reduced rate is probably something worth looking for.

played here on june 6,2009. Had not played the course for a few years(beaver creek) because green were horrible then. Greens are in great shape, fairways ar ok, only complaint was that on the 2nd tee we ran in to a six some in the fairway, had to skip that hole and then moved right along. I will be back

The course is in overall great shape, greens are pretty flat with few breaks. Great course to have a outing. If you do, dont get to hammered. The cart paths pose a greater challenge than the course itself. Wooden paths that are very narrow and turn like crazy. Bring the search and rescue team if you plan to drink! You will lose alot of golf balls...guaranteed. Course is misleading, just play down the middle you'll be fine. No cart girl??? whats up with that? The girl inside was pretty hot though. Overall a great value, we will be back.

One of the worst courses I've ever played. The course was so dry it was like hitting out of a bunker every shot (even the fairways). The round took almost 6 hours and there wasn't even that many people out there but what else do you expect with no rangers. The clubhouse was nice and the beverages were affordable that was the only way to keep your sanity out there. The course was way to overpriced for what you get considering most the teeboxes are crabgrass and the greens looked diseased. The layout was pretty Mickey Mouse with the exception of a few holes on the back nine. All in all I dont suggest this course. There are plenty nicer tracks in the area in better shape and alot cheaper

This was the first time I had been out in a while and being a mediocre golfer I lost more balls than I care to remember. The course itself, however, was pretty nice. We played the front nine with no real problems, but when we hit the 10th hole, the sprinklers went on. It was the most unusual time for it (2:00 on a Thursday?) and really put a damper on the rest of the outing. The fairway had four sprinklers going, which of course means that I actually hit the fairway and had to dodge sprinklers to take my next shot. When we asked before teeing off the gentleman working on the carts told us, "They'll go off soon." He clearly lied. We reached the tee box on the 12th hole and also had to dodge sprinklers there. Finally, the 14th green was completely soaked, and the hole was submerged in about two inches of water. Not there was water in the cup, because that happened on many holes, but the entire cup and the surrounding couple inches were underwater! Some guy came by and said "Sorry about the water," while he was turning off the sprinkler on the 14th green, but that sort of thing shouldn't happen.

Overall, the course was nice and the fairways and greens were both pretty decent. Not sure if I'd go back there this season, but maybe next year I'd give it another shot.

This course probably has the most scenic cart paths through the woods you can find. This is the type of course I can bring my girlfriend to, who doesn’t golf, because she might have fun driving around the course alone. Had fun playing this course, flag placement on some of the holes alone made certain holes difficult which appeared easy. Water was strategically placed on certain holes making an accurate shot necessary to avoid hazard. Had a few par 4 holes which made you think twice before pulling out the driver due to some extreme dog legs. If played smart you can definitely shoot a great score but if you try to hit the long ball you might be hunting for your ball in the dense woods. Beware, almost stepped on a snake looking for a ball! Fairways and greens could have been in better shape but would still come back to play.

Ok everyone, it is golf season in Michigan! This course provides a good layout, great customer service, and a good looking clubhouse.

The cart girl that was out the day I played was amazing! Everything you want in an employee.

The food at the turn was limited, but very good. It was between a giant hot dog, and a burger, on an outdoor grill. It was reasonably priced as well. The character running the grill was pretty funny too.

I believe the Myth gives its all, and can do what it can to provide a good golf atmosphere. I also believe they do what is in their power to get the course in reasonable condition for Spring golf in Michigan. I do have one gripe though. The pin placements on some holes were on main breaks in the green, making it seem like you were putting into a hole that was on a 45 degree angle. It was like playing put-put in Myrtle Beach. I really didnt get the reasoning behind it, especially being how tough the course played because of the early conditions.

They were cutting the grass the day I was there, and I was surprised they were doing so. It was odd, the fairways were like greens.

They could use a starter when they are letting 2-somes fire off back to back to back to back to back. I think if they were spaced out a bit better it would have been more fun. We finished 18 in less then four hours, and were pushed and were pushing the group infront of us the entire 18.

This is one of the best values in the Metro-Detroit area, I recommend getting out here!

You can't bit the price for $15.00 with 18 holes and cart around oakland county even public courses. I play with my friend on 4/17 last Frdiay. This course used to be beaver creek but they changed the name last year. The course was mess and poor green but not this year. I'm very impressive. The new owner is doing good job but many wood bridges still need to be repaired. I will play more often this year since I already retired.

Play it now while you can afford it,this isn't your typical 20.00 dollar golf courses, theres plenty of hazards and you have to pay attention. Your not walking over two fairways to pick up your ball. Which reminds me,bring alot of balls. Still needs work but you can see the effort. A must try one time.

We have golfed on this course a couple of times when it was beaver Creek. It was horrible back then. Last year, we gave it another try, and I was very impressed with what they have done there so far. I understand that they need to do a lot more, but I see it getting better everytime we go there. I probably went there 7 times last year, due to how close it was to our house. This is my girlfriends favorite course. It is not too tough, yet there are some definite challenges, like the green on 16. Don't plan to get through your round in less than 4 hours, but if you are looking for a nice relaxing round, this is the place. Every worker at the course is very nice, and will go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome.

Played here Friday the 26th with my wife, with a 10:00 tee time. First thing was, there was only 1 guy working who was trying too work the register and get carts out and dried off at the same time. No starter and one is needed. First the good news, the fairways are better than they used to be (i used to play in a league here when it was still the Beav) The greens are slow but playable except #2 which had all kinds of acorns from the trees all over it and made it impossible to putt on. New owners are trying and making progress on some tee boxes but still a long way to go, some are still rock hard and difficult to get a tee in the ground. had to wait on lawn mowers several times who after moving never did shut off but sat there loud as could be. No beverage carts on course so load up before you tee off. then after making the turn, they started an outing with a shotgun start so when we got to hole 11 we had several carts all of a suden jump in front of us to start their outing. we tried skiping a few holes to get in front of them to no avail. We had to give up and could not finish the round.
If your just looking for the cheapest greens fees than the myth is for you, but if your any kind of decent golfer you will find at least a half dozen things here that will get under your skin and you would be better served paying an extra 10 bucks or so to go down the road to blackheath. you will have a much more enjoyable round. the myth needs a lot of care and a few more years to get where the other courses in the area are.

Played this 'Diamond in the rough' Sat. Sept. 20. All who think a ranger is needed are more than correct. 'Bargain hunters' who come here to play but have no respect for either the course or for other players, need to be dealt with by a ranger. Fixing ball marks on greens is a 'no-brainer' even if the course is in need of work.
Owners are headed in the right direction (as is apparent from other reviews of people who've played here before), and consideration should be given for the amount of both time and money it takes to properly develop a 'Good' golf course.
I will play here again, and more often as conditions improve.

I've read alot of mixed reviews of this place, but they all said it has improved from years past, so I decided to see for myself.
First the good news, most of the fairways are in decent to good shape, as was most of the greens. The tee boxes are for the most part alright, except for 3,5,6,11,14, but I think those can be improved just by trimming the trees around them, so they can get some more sun. except #3, that tee box should be torn up and started over. The 16th hole is really a lot of fun to play, especially on the green (lots of breaks to contend with).
Now for the bad, the pace of play today was incredibly slow, this could be helped by a ranger or starter, which they did not have either. Drainage seems to be a problem out there. The course was very wet in places, especially on some of the greens on the back nine. The use of railroad ties for some of the cart paths really baffled me. the one thing that really bugged me, was there was no drinking water on the course, it's August for goodness sake.
You can see where there is a lot of potential in this course, given a few years and if they keep working at it, this will be a very nice course to play.
