You can tell that the details are slipping, but I still enjoy this course. Not recommended if it is raining alot, because being so close to the lake it doesn't drain very well. But thank goodness for the rain, because the lake looks better and that is a huge part of the enjoyment of this course.
I love the layout, and despite the lack of attention to detail (bunker upkeep, clubhouse touches), I always enjoy this day of golf because the layout is fun, unique, and beautiful. It's a good day of golf that good be GREAT again one day with attention to detail.
Played on 4/10 sunday and course was in rough shape. lot of tree branches and other debris on the fairways. lot of trees along the course were uprooted and knocked off by the high wind the week before.

I played this course for the first time on Sunday March 29. I really enjoyed the scenery of the course, but the conditions were tough with all the rain we got over the weekend. All the rain made the fairways swampy and the wind was brutal coming off the lake. It is a real shame that Lake Lanier is down 15 feet because it takes away from challenge of the course. Water should come into play on 7 or 8 more holes when the lake is at normal level and you get nothing but beach or mud instead.
Overall, it is a very nice course that is really hurt by the level of the lake. The value isn't too great at $49 and there are a lot of great deals elsewhere.
i do like this course the people are always nice but today the weather was great the coures not great. fair ways matted down the greens were fast and had no grass on them like playing on a old pool table. plus all the construction going on in the park and no clear signage. i wish they would make this course what it should be. if you pay over 20 thats 5 too much.
I must say this course has a lot of character. Solid tee shots are a must. If you miss hit any tee shot into the trees then keep your fingers cross for finding you ball because the leaves from the trees that are on the ground will swallow your ball. At this time of year the greens are in excellent shape. Lake Lanier is going through a major face lift so when you enter keep your spirits up because the golf course is in great shape.

I have seen this course a number of times over the years when boating on Lake Lanier. It is picturesque with rolling hills, mature trees and of course water. The clubhouse is about the nicest I have seen here in the northeast. Large pro shop with a friendly staff. The Bar/Restaurant has floor to ceiling judges’ panel. The first tee over looked a very narrow fairway that set the tone for a number of narrow fairways. This course had a few tempting ego draws that captured my more confident and longer hitting buddy. The course was a little rough on the greens but this time of year is difficult to maintain. Very beautiful but difficult my first go around, I’m looking forward to playing this course again especially when the landscape is in bloom and the weather has soften her outer shell. Oh, they have been making renovations to the course and the whole island, including a second course that will be opening in the near future

I played at this course this weekend and its in terrible shape. Some of the greens have sand on them and few tee boxes are bald. Way too many leaves in the middle of the fairways, so hard to find the ball even with a good tee shot. There were no rangers to help and I was very disappointed with the course and overall up keep incl the staff. Would not recommend it until the management gets their act together. There are far better courses in the Atlanta area for the same price or even lower.
Played last sunday. course was a bit wet from the rain so that was a downer. overall good course have played it many times, but first time since it reopened. Free entry into the islands which is nice, save some extra $$$$ for a beer or two. Greens needed a bit of work but its also the rough part of the year for all the fairways, greens, and rough to be in the best shape.
come spring it should be good. Great service a pro shop.
I only Played nine Holes because It was so cold. Free range balls along with free entrance onto the Island makes it really worth it. Tee boxes need some help and so does the poor drainage. The staff is excellent, I told them I was to cold to continue the back 9 and they gave me a raincheck. (WOW) I am playing there Sunday and cant wait.

I played this course on Sunday, January 11th and it was quite fun despite a 30 degree wind chill and 20-30 mph winds. The course was very wet due to recent rains and the fairways do not seem to drain well.
The greens were in excellent condition, especially for the winter time. Consistent speed and very few rough spots that I could find. The fairways looked to be in good shape, but since the course doesn't drain well, they were very sloppy. The tee boxes were in very good shape as well for this time of year.
I really like this layout. The course is short (I played it from the tips) and it places a premium on accuracy off the tee. It will be much easier to play this course now that I know how to play some of the holes with blind shots.
We had coupons and I ended up paying $36 for 18 holes. For this price, it is worth the 40 minute drive from Atlanta. I am really looking forward to playing this course in the Summer time. The views are great and once the lake fills up it should be a beautiful course! I recommend you try it out.

Decent course for the money, but will be a great course when the lake level rises. Just not as scenic as it could be with the lake levels so low. Instead of hitting over water, your hitting over mud. Quite a few blind shots, and plays kind of short. But not bad for the price, service was great.

Course is in great shape, faiways and greens and bunkers a in top shape, most tee boxes are awful though, they really need to get a lot more sun on them, but that's gonna cost $$$. Still a great place to play. No charge at the gate if your playing golf and the other course is looking good too, shouldn't be much longer till it's open again. $39 bucks winter rates.
Due to the drought this course has taken a few a few beating, but the course layout and views are truly a golfers dream. Some tee boxes need to be repaired, but the fairways are in great shape. The green were also in decent shape. I was grouped with a two some and they told me that they paid $50 for green fees. To me at this time and the course conditions this course during the weekdays should not be over $35.
I'm assuming PineIsle has seen better days. The course seems to have all the things you look for in a solid resort golf course, but it is also showing it's age.
The tee boxes and greens are in terrible shape (aeration on 9/3) while the fairways and rough are near top notch. It's nice to play on a course that has some thick rough and penalizes an errant tee shot.
The course layout is fantastic. Doglegs, blind shots and elevation make up for lack of yardage. It's a shame Lake Lanier is so dry (probably 10' below normal levels) because there are some great views and use of water. Even with the additional 'shoreline', I really enjoyed looking out over the water and having a gallery of boats on a few holes.
The service was great and the amenities got the job done. The value leaves a little to be desired even though the fee was less than $60 due to recent aeration. Take note, range balls are included in greens fees which is always nice.
The other course at Lake Lanier, Emerald Pointe, is undergoing a face lift and I'd be willing to bet the same thing happens here too. There's a lot of potential with this course, but it won't be realized until management throws some resources in PineIsle's direction.

Sept 5th. Played this course for the first time. The weather was beautiful. Even with the lake level down there were still some very nice views. The fairways were in very good condition. The crew was working on them as I was making my way around the course. Only once did they cause a problem, but it cost me a stroke on that hole. They had aerated the greens on sept 3rd, so they gave a discount due to the poor conditions of the greens. I was still able to enjoy most of the round due to the good condition of the fairways. I also was able to get the idea these greens will be very fast when they are back in good condition. The course has quite a few short par fours and the temptation to play driver on all of them is almost insurmountable, and for me it was. "Gotta see if I can drive the green." Missed one by 10 yards. Missed the rest by a bit more, but played from the fairway on all of them, thankfully. I also learned the wind is deceptively strong coming off the lake. Be sure the use enough club on 15 and the approach on 18. I used my 140yd club from 131yds out on 18 and still did not make it. Took my drop right there and used my 150yd club. That was just the right club in that situation. Wind was strong. Never met the beverage cart during my round, but I know it was out there because I saw it at the turn. The clubhouse and bar are very nice and was able to get what I needed from the very helpful bartenders. I will play this course again when the greens comeback in shape.
It's been a while since I've played this course (5 years) but I used to play it a couple of times a month. My overall impression is that it's showing it's age.
The clubhouse and staff are fantastic, and serve great food and cold beer (what more could you ask). A cart girl was out on the course all day and we saw her several times.
The layout is really nice, with lots of elevation changes and (if there's water) some great visages. I don't fault the course for the low lake level, but it sure takes away from what are some beautiful holes.
The greens run straight and are quick, but it looks like there's about 3 different types of grass on them so it a bit disconcerning with the color changes. The fairways are nice but thin in a few places
The Emerald Point course is closed and being renovated, maybe this one is next. It's a nice course for the challange and the view, but for the $$, I think there is some better choices nearby.

I played the course today and was very impressed .the greens was in good shape.good vaule for the money.
First time I've played this course in a few years. Course was in awesome shape and it was nearly deserted. I think we only saw 3 or 4 groups out besides us and it was on a Saturday. The course is relatively short but certainly a challenge. If you miss the fairways and go into the woods good luck finding your ball in the straw and leaves. Greens and fairways are in great shape.
Awesome from the time we got there. It truly was the best course I had ever played. A beautiful setting. We were worried about the construction noise but thankfully did not hear any. The amenities are what you SHOULD expect at a golf course. The service and food was top notch!

I played the course on Thursday June 19th. Getting to and from the course is a bit of a hassle due to road and bridge construction in the Lake Lanier Islands area. But once you get past that - it's great! The course was is fantastic condition from tee to green. I witnessed a lot of work by the course maintenance staff ensuring it stayed that way. The layout is fun, with plenty of elevation changes, water, bunkers, and doglegs left and right. The cart paths are a bit uneven and worn, so be cautious. There were few folks on the course the day I played. I assume that's because of the road conditions.
The course is in great shape tee to greens. Free range balls were provided. Enjoyed the layout you do not have to hit the long ball to get around. Fairway are a little tight in spots. We played on a Tuesday at noon and felt like we had the whole course to ourselves. Normal green fee are a little bit costly. Try to get LM deal or play after 1 price goes down. A++ from this golfer.

Course is in fantastic shape. The Fairways are full and lush, the greens are rolling great and holding shots, the bunkers are raked and fluffy, some tee boxes are really thin, overall great shape. It's a shot makers course, left to right, right to left, you can get around without to many drives and still score. No more $8 entrance fee, if you have a tee time. Stone Mtn should do the same! Played 36 on Sunday and never waited, may be due to the green fee, we played with a coupon. Really good course in great condition.
