Played the course on 6/22/09 and it was fantastic. The tees were great, the fairways were in real good shape, and the greens were awesome. The service at this course has always been top notch and the pace of play very good. I have never been out to this course and had a bad experience. Worth the drive!

Played 7/18 and the course is absolutely beautiful and in great condition. Fairways were receptive and greens are recovering very well from aeration early this month. Greens are sloping and roll fast and true. Course has a wide range of elevation changes including about a 70 ft drop on the par 3 17th. If played from the tips, this course is quite challenging at over 7100 yards. No beverage cart and a small, poorly stocked clubhouse are the only negatives. Pace of play was around 3 1/2 hrs for our twosome. Can't beat those specials on LMTT!

Played yesterday, 7/12. Fairways and bunkers in fine condition, greens punched early last week. Pro shop provided discounts for a return visit due to greens condition. Facility was understaffed compared to previous visits, although impact was minimal with the exception of no beverage cart service. Pace of play was excellent.

Great course for those that can hit the ball from pointA to pointB. Greens were in good shape, fairways were plush.

Played Tuesday morning on 6/2/09. The course was in great shape overall. The greens on the front nine were in excellent shape and the back nine greens were pretty good as well, but not a nice as the front. However, all the greens rolled true, I just couldn't read them. The course layout is really nice with some holes being tree lined and some holes are pretty open with elevation changes as well.
I had actually planned on buying a shirt, but the selection was very limited and they didn't have anything I liked. As someone else stated in their review, there wasn't a cart girl but I didn't expect one on a Tue morning. I will say there were coolers every few holes that had ICE COLD water in them, which was great!
I thought the value was excellent considering the condition of the course and was a short drive down I-85. Will definitely play there again.
I played this course on 05/12/09 with a friend who lives in the development. The course is a very nice layout, which can challenge even the longest of hitters. Course layout requires you to think and sometimes Driver off the tee is not the best play. I found the fairways for the most part to be in excellent shape, very green and firm but not hard. The greens were rolling true and with good pace. Sand traps were in good shape and it is obvious that the new owners are working hard to bring this course into top shape. The grass driving range was a very nice touch with free range balls. The staff was very helpful and the pro shop had a nice selection of items. No cart girl, but cold drinks and a sandwich were available. I will definitely be back to play this layout as with time it is only going to get better. It is worth the drive out for the price.

We played Hammer's Glen last Friday. The golf course was in fantastic shape. The green fee was a great value. I do have a complaint that all golfers should know. After I made a birdie putt on 17 to bring me back to 1 over, (my best round ever) two cart boys demanded that we make that our last hole and told us to bring the carts in. I can understand the guys wanting to get home, but that is the first time that this has ever happened to me personally. We had to take a 15 minute break due to lightning on the ninth. The good news is that I grabbed my bag off of the cart and walked 18 to make a par. You would think that those boys making 7 dollars an hour would want to work as much as possible. If you go to Hammer's Glen, make sure that you tee off before noon.

I played the course for the first time on May 4th. Grass driving range with balls included and small putting green at #1 tee allow for adequate warm up. Course is 7 yrs old and they are working to build out a subdivision. The front nine is tougher and tighter than the back with several tree lines holes. The back nine is more open, but has a few water hazards. Overall, the course layout is challenging and makes you hit many different shots to score well. The fairways were only OK as they had several thin spots. The greens were in good shape, pretty fast and have decent undulation. If you miss the greens to the wrong side, you will need a good short game to get up and down. There is no cart person, so grab your food and drinks before teeing off or at the turn. For $32, it is a very good value.

I've played this course a couple of times and really enjoyed it. The staff was down-to-earth and amiable which is always nice. It's a little further than I generally travel to golf, but when I'm back in the area with time on my hands, I can't think of a place I'd rather be.

Great Course. Course is fair, but yet challenging. Greens were in good shape. Rolled fast and true. Great deal for 30-plus bucks.

This course is a blast. It is a drive from Atlanta, but anyone in Northeast Georgia should definitely take time to enjoy this spacious course. Holes 1-9 are more challenging in my estimation, but the backside has more potential water hazards. This course is just challenging enough for golfers who are above a 30+ handicap like myself, yet it provides a little more room for those who are just starting. The price is affordable considering we are getting into the peak season. A few of the par 3's are difficult and misleading. I will continue to play this course.
Great LMTT value. The driving range is nice with natural grass, free balls and marked distances to the flags. A sign with changeable, even hand written distances would be nearly free, I don’t understand why they all can’t do this. I saw an earlier player searching for his ball that went into range area; it was like a needle in a hay stack… lucky for him, we all stopped hitting until he changed his mind and went back to his fairway. They also had a chipping green with a sand trap, which was nice. The putting green was the same speed as the course (Not always the case at other courses), both were fast and predictable. Some of the greens had enough slope that they were impossible to leave the ball near the pin when chipping from above the hole. I know, I’m not supposed to be above the pin. Nice grade change and a good variety of hole configurations. I found the fairways to be tight cut and hard considering all the rain we have had. No cart girl but a very friendly staff who told me to call the phone number on the score card and they would bring me whatever I wanted. I knew better then to tell the rest of my foursome. We will be back

I organized a group outing on Wednesday April 8th. We took 24 golfers and had a blast. The course was in great shape and the greens were fast but rolled very true. The staff was great to us and gave us a discount for bringing so many people. The food was really good in the clubhouse and we couldn't have asked for a better day.

Took a group of eight up to play Friday and Saturday. We stayed in the lodge and played two rounds each day. Our overall impression of the place was very positive. Great value! The clubhouse is a temporary deal for them and not glamourous but that was just fine. The staff were all very friendly. It was a little wet on the course due to rain Thursday but the course was in good shape. The greens were in really good shape, fast and they all rolled consistent. We like the layout of the course. We look forward to playing it when everything grows in.

Course was in good condition with the fairways extremely dormant and tight. Greens were rolling very well. They were being sanded as we played but did not have much affect on the roll. Nobody was in the clubhouse to either check us in or to get a bite to eat on the turn. I guess they are doing some extreme cutbacks on the staff. I have always enjoyed the layout of the course and with the greens still being in great shape it is still a good value at $30.

Beautiful course! I really like that they have a full warm up area (driving range, putting green, chipping area...) The "clubhouse" is temporary and I can't wait to see what the new one will look like after it is built. The course is extremely well maintained and the greens are pretty fast. Well worth the trip & the money. I highly recommend!

This is a good course....but it is very hard, and I am not talking about difficulty, I am talking about thin fairways and very hard greens. Very hard to get a ball to check. For $37 it was a great value and the people who work there are very nice and helpful. They need to water and aerate badly. Good track, but far from "lush".
One of the few places I have played; it’s a drive for me to get there, but it’s worth it. Well kept, well maintained and the staff are great.

Great layout. For the price you can't beat what you get. Tees, fairways, and greens were in wonderful shape. Greens were quick and firm. If you missed the green in the wrong place getting up and down was almost impossible.

I played this course on Labor Day and I play here probably 4 times a month and I enjoy this course very much. The staff at Hammer's Glen are top notch and you get 5 star service from them especially the GM. The couse is long from the tips as it plays about 7200 yds. The couse was in great shape and greens were fast and true. The drive up to the course is a hike but hey for the price of the greens fees here I'd make that hike anytime. Everytime I play here the pace of play is very good. You'll hardly have anyone in front of you or behind you, its like having the course to yourself. This course is a hidden secret and a keeper in my book.

It's so nice to be able to play a course that doesn't have houses and O.B. stakes all over the place. The course is in very good shape and is playing hard and fast. It appears they've narrowed the fairways on several holes since I played hear last. I've played three Mark McCumber courses and this, by far, my favorite. Well worth the drive and, at $ 37.50, the price. Looking forward to the new clubhouse.
