The Georgia Veterans Course is one of best values in the mid-state area. Overall you cannot beat the value, upkeep and challenge of this course. When I played, the course was in great shape despite the lack of rain we've seen in recent weeks. It's a great challenge for the better players (tips are around 7,000 yards) and beginners alike.
Great layout with many risk-reward opportunities. You can get the ball close on par threes if you are willing to "man up" and go for it. The greens will hold your incoming shots. Feel free and let it go. Par 5's on back nine are inviting but can be played as true three-shotters without feeling like a wuss. Clubhouse staff is alsways very friendly and accomodating. Worth the drive from wherever you are coming from if you enjoy golf in a natural setting without the intrusion of housing developments.
