Played on Sunday for the first time in a long time at St Marlo. The course is in good shape - tees (some were spotty but nothing too bad), fairways, bunkers and grees were all in above average condition. The greens rolled a little bit slow and some were bumpy but overall were in good shape.
My only complaint was the pace of play - took 4 hours and 55 minutes to play 18. Only saw a marshall one time on the 5th hole and nothing the rest of the day. It seemed to be the group in front with five (only 4 playing) and a father giving what appeared to be lessons to a child. Frustrating to say the least.
Saw the cart girl once per nine. This is a nice track that is very playable (except for hole 9 which just does not fit) - just wish the pace of play was better...

This is my first time playing the course and I really enjoyed almost everything about it. The only thing was setting up my tee time with a weekday any time pass. What a nightmare!!
Other than that, the course is great and in great shape. The landscaping is beautiful lots of water features and seemingly natural beauty inside this community. The layout is very good, but it does help to have some local knowledge with some blind shots and hidden hazzards. There are lots of elevation changes and several holes do not require a driver.
Played here for the first time yesterday with 3 buddies of equal ability. We played the white tees and found the course to be very fair for our skill level. Hats off to the architect for working with the terrain and the numerous water features that really add to the experience. Bad tee shots were punished, while good ones usually gave you a good lie. Conditions tee to green were excellent and it's obvious they pay a lot of attention even to rough, bunkers, landscaping, etc. Not a huge fan of residential courses in general, but when the houses are this nice and none felt like they were "on the course" I can't complain. Service was excellent, although we'd have liked the cart girl to make her rounds more frequently. Definitely look forward to returning!
I played here earlier this week with a couple of my buddies and found the course to be in great shape. The tee boxes were in good shape, the fairways were in great shape, very green and with good roll. The green’s were nice, not too firm and would hold a shot even from a mid to long iron. Greens were rolling true with good pace. Sand traps were excellent as you would expect from a course of this caliber. The practice green was large and in great shape. We played early on Monday and the driving range is closed on Monday morning for maintenance. The pace of play was GREAT, with starting times closely spaced to keep thing in check. We saw the cart girl on several occasions and provide great service, complete with a full bar on the cart……The clubhouse staff was excellent getting us out right on time. With a LMT price this is a great value and I will certainly return here to enjoy the great course.

Excellent condition and value for the LMG price. They spread out the golfers nicely, avoiding ridiculous delays. Would definitely play again.
Played last week and the course is in great shape. I like the layout now that I have played it a few times. Will be back.

I played this course for the first time today, Apr. 21. The course was in nice shape and well maintained. The fairways were greened up pretty good. It is a very interesting layout and a lot of fun to play. The greens were aerated in March but have healed up good. The greens could be pretty fast if they mowed them down a little more. Overall the speed and roll of the greens were good. They probably haven't taken the mowers down because of the aeration. I'd be interested to see how fast they are once they are back to normal. I would recommend to any golf lover that wants a challenging course to play here. This is a course where it helps to have played once before. Knowing the layout of the holes and where to hit shots is key to playing well here. I hope to play it again sometime in the summer.
Played this course for the first time on April 18. I love the layout of the course. It is challenging without being too difficult for high handicappers, although the layout of the 9th hole will make you question the sanity of the course designer. I have never seen anything like that. The grounds were clean and well-maintained. I imagine in warm weather the landscaping is spectacular. The course was in excellant condition. The fairways were not full of divots. The greens were in good condition. I try to play different courses as often as possible but will gladly return to St. Marlo any time my playing partners want to go. $50 for this course is a bargain.

If you dont mind driving a little bit, St. Marlo is one of the best values around town, particularly if you can get a LMTT discount. It you couldnt, it would still be a great track, but you wouldnt appreciate just quite as much.
Played on Friday, 4/17, and the course is really starting to green up. They now allow 90 degrees, which keeps pace of play good.
Staff and proshop/grill are always nice and the practice area is great (but you do hit off higher end mats not grass).
Greens here are always great, and other than the 8th and 9th holes which are a little gimmicky, this remains one of my favorites around town.

Played 4/10, course in good condition. Pace of play was very good. Greens rolled pretty good for early April. Overall experience was very good.
Played with a red flag rate (great value)... great and challenging course. had a good layout that makes you think and use most of your clubs. Only thing I noticed is that it probably needs a better drainage system - the course was still soggy from the previous day's rains... but you'll love this course!

Played 4/12 and the course was in good condition. We had an early tee time and the course was still wet but no real problem to speak of. Greens are just about fully healed and were putting great. Combine the good condition with the $49 special rate and it was a very worthwhile trip.

Our group played Saturday, 4/4/09. Greens had recently been areated, and the course was quite wet from the recent rain. Those factors aside, the course was in good shape. It was challenging, but enjoyable. Our group plans to play it again.

First off I would like to say, in the midle of the summer this course is most likely in tip top shape and would be well worth the money.
That being said, I played this course on Tuesday, March 31. I had a 9:30 tee time is think, something like that anyway. The day was a little misty and chilly in the morning. I pulled up to the bag drop area and waited for about three minutes and no one was there to grab my bag. (Really no big problem but when it is chilly and misty I would expect a little service there.)
After I park and put my bag on a cart myself I go into the proshop to check in and I have to say, for being a proshop there was hardly nothing for sale in there. One of the guys I was playing with was going to buy a 60* wedge but they didn't have any clubs. Strange. (The service in the pro shop was good, nothing special though, but they did have free coffee.:))
The driving range (had to purchase balls, very cheap though) was off of mats for some reason, and really hard mats too, left a few green marks on my clubs.
The course overall was in bad to fair condition. We had just had a bunch of rain so the fairways were extremely soft. I know there is nothing they could do about it but around the greens they had cut the grass and created mud pits, not pretty. The greens had also be aerated, again nothing they could do about it.
I really do feel that it was not worth the $40 bucks to play, but I do feel that in May or June it would be worth $60 to play the course. The course itself challenges you to make tough shots.
I give the course a 2.5 of 5 in March, and would give it a 4 of 5 in June.

Played St. Marlo for the first time on Sunday March 29th. After a horrible rain, the course had a couple soggy spots, but was in great condition otherwise. The aeration didn't affect the greens too bad although they rolled a bit slower than usual. Overall, I was amazed by just about everything. The service and course were both excellent. My group and I thoroughly enjoyed everything and there was excellent value at $45/round. I look forward to making it back and hope I'm lucky enough to get the same type of deal. Great course!

Played St. Marlo on Saturday 3/7 starting at 9:30 and overall it was a good experience. There was a small men's group of 5 or 6 foursomes playing in front of us that kept the pace of play rather slow. It took a little over 5 hours to play even with the Marshalls constantly pushing them and reporting back to us. With the exception of a lot of worn tee boxes the course is in good shape for the time of year. It is a very good layout, tough but fair, with very true greens. Plan to have lunch after your round as the food is terrific as is the service. With their new lower rates it will likely become part of our regular rotation. We paid $55.

Course in usual good shape but dormant grass looks a little worn. It's obvious St Marlo is trying to fill up their tee sheet with the economy sucking wind. Tee boxes very worn.
Greens rolled great as usual and staff and clubhouse were excellent. There are a couple of gimmicky holes but this remains an enjoyable layout and has some dramatic elevatIon changes.
Got on for the LMTT special and makes it a great deal overall.t

Played on Sunday morning at 8:30 on Feb. 15. This was my first time at this track and I was very impressed. For $55 on a weekend early tee time, I thought it was worth it. The course condition overall is really good, there are some very nice holes and of course the houses around there are pretty spectacular. Greens were in excellent shape. Tee boxes could use a facelift. The pro shop didn't have a whole lot but who buys stuff there anyway. I can't wait for spring time when the fairways are all nice and green. This track is definitely a favorite of mine so far.

St. Marlo for $45. I can't afford to not play it at that price! I played on Sunday Jan 25, 09. It was sunny, yet chilly - The warmest it got was in the low 50's. The course was in excellent shape. Greens were rolling true. Fairways were dry even though it had rained Sat. Pace of play was good. We teed it up before noon. Did'nt have to wait on anyone, and no-one was waiting on us. Get out there while they still have the deal!
Overall course is in great shape considering the time of the year. Greens are awesome and really roll well, there were a number of the tee boxes that were very thin and worn. But, you have to consider the time of year. Great deal through LMTT compared to normal playing rate. Play was about 4 1/2 hour whcih is better than I expected considering previous posts.
