Played today on a very warm late fall day. Course had been areated but still the course is in very good shape. A nice touch today was given a coupon for a cup of chilie.

This is my SECOND time this year playing this course. As a member of a private course, Copetown makes me feel like I am at a private golf couse. A hidden gem, hope you are able to play this fine golf course.

A couple of my friends and I managed to get out the other day and even with the light rain the course was still in great shape. Again another great addition to LMG and a golf course that rewards the smart play and punishes the foolhardy. Golf made simple is fairways and greens adventuresome play just adds to your final score.

What a great golf course!! For late in October the tees, fairways and greens are in mid season form for most golf courses. Living relatively close to this gem I should be playing it more often. If you haven't given it a try it's well worth a visit.

Ann and I ventured out to "Copetown Woods" this morning, playing our round in 3 hours and 10 min.
This course is in excellent shape from tee to fairway to bunker to greens.
The grounds crew were visible but they were respectful by staying out of our tee off view.
Copetown has to have some of the largest greens I have played on , so clubbing up on your approach is suggested.
Copetown Woods I would rate as one of the top 10 LMG courses to play. You may feel this course is too far to drive, but it is definetly worth the trip!!!

I support all the great reviews for Copetown Woods. I played it today (cost less than $12 with Red Flag and points) and I was impressed with everything from reception, practice range to the 18th hole. A charming clubhouse to greet you before and after. A links-style course design with lots of sand traps, greenside and waste areas. Water hazards and out of bounds do come into play often so pay attention. Conditions were ideal, lush fairways (hardly no roll) and receptive greens, although medium speed and sneaky breaks on some. One should play better the second time after learning the doglegged holes and a couple of blind shots. The scorecard has an individual hole layout section with yardages so no excuses. Par 72 and rated 69.6/119 slope means you should play under your handicap, I didn't. Our group played in 4 hours with no hold ups. Where else would you want to be on such a gorgeous 18 degree sunny day Oct. 8? Will definately make it back there.

We played "Copetown Woods" today on a $34 Red Flag...what an awsome course. This course has HUGE greens which has you thinking an extra club on most approaches. The Fairways were plush and the bunkers were abundant in sand and excellently groomed. The name says "WOODS" but not alot of trees came into play. Alot of waste bunkers and vescue could be found. The staff was very professional and friendly. We played the course in 3 3/4 hours. I look forward to a return visit to "Copetown Woods"!

Good opening hole, but a bit of a weak finisher. Good layout except for the confusion you always seem to see around holes 7,8,16 and 17. Great course but a little bit pricey considering there's rarely anyone out here on a lot of weekdays that I'm here...even with LMG. But I still pay it...Easy to walk and finish in 3 to 3 1/2.

Came out to Copetown for the second week in a row.
Unfortunately mother nature got us this morning and there was a one in a half hour frost delay before we were able to tee off. What can I say, the course is in great shape and the greens are superb. They roll so true and were fairly quick especially if you were above the hole. Definitely worth the drive, you won't be disappointed!

Played yesterday morning under phenominal weather conditions. The course was in great shape and the greens were rolling quite nicely. Some of the greens seemed a bit firm which might be attributed to this still being a fairly new course. There are quite a few areas where the fescue and waste bunkers come into play that make getting par difficult if you hit it there.

Definately worth the trip and well worth the $$$ as this was one of the better shape courses I've played this year. I'm hoping to get out on this course again but it's difficult to book through LMG as there are very few weekend early morning rounds posted. I just got my tee time the old fashion way by calling the pro shop and booking :-)

I must say that the experience at Copetown Woods was a positive one. The course was in excellent shape. This is a links style course with fescue lining the fairways and some waste bunkers. The greens are well protected by sand bunkers. This course is as good as any that LMG has to offer. Our experience in the restaurant was also positive as the food was very good and not too pricey!. A definite must play if in the area.

Played here for the first time on Fri., Sept 11 and came away very impressed. They have a nice practice facility and the large putting green is right beside the first tee.

I played from the Gold tee's which are just under 7,000 yards but only have a slope of 125. There are some long-ish carries from the back but all in all it wasn't too difficult.

Tee decks were very nice and so were the fairways and greens. Actually, the greens were some of the best I've played this year...at least for putting. I think they were top dressed recently and therefore didn't hold very well but they rolled very true. The course appears to be maintained very well since there were few marks on the greens and fewer left unrepaired.

Some very scoreable holes and a nice layout. Not having played here didn't put me at too much of a disadvantage as most of the holes have a fairly straight-forward design. That's not to say there aren't some questions from the tee you might have but it's nothing to worry about.

Disappointed I didn't get out and play Copetown sooner and really hope to get another opportunity before the season is finished. This is a very nice course and shouldn't be looked over.

Well this review is a bit late as I played Copetown a couple weeks ago on a Red Flag deal. Played the course by myself just after 7:30 one Monday morning. My experience started well with a pleasant pro shop employee and starter who filled me in for about 10min on the course as it was my first time there. I have to say I really liked the layout and the condition of the course! Greens were rolling true although not very fast but that's ok. Fairways and tees were excellent even considering they were staring the fall aerate with #10 (it has to be done) played in 2.5hrs and was greeted by the starter on 18 tee who had been looking for me to bring me a bottle of water as it was really hot and no beverage cart...VERY nice touch! All and all I have to say this was one of my favorite courses in the area and strongly recommend the course to others. Very playable for all abilities.

Outstanding course, service and value for money. Course is always in impeccable shape. Interesting layout with some challenging doglegs and waste bunkers that can come into play if the driver is working. The replay here is the best deal in Ontario, pay for your cart and you're off! Beat that!

Only downside, stay away from the sausage at the halfway house. The skin on the sausage is like trying to bite through a rubber band...it's awful.

Played today with 3 other last minute golfers. The course was in great shape. Very well taken care of. Workers out grooming everywhere but they were not in your way. Pace of play was very good. 4 hours. The layout is very good- challenging but fun to play. Greens were in excellent condition. Staff was friendly and helpful. If you have not played this course I would recommend it. One of the better taken care of courses and rate of $48.50 is good value.

Played Copetown for the first time yesterday. I liked the course and I had heard many good reviews of the place. The downside came with the topdressing of the greens. The course did provide a complimentary 9 hole green fee that can be used only Mon-Thursday...which is nice but being able to use it all week would have made it far more useful.

I liked the layout of the course - many holes were memorable...greenside bunkers were probably the best maintained of any public course I have played this year - and that includes some good ones.

Can't give full marks for greens because of topdressing but you could tell they were quite good and had a lot of variety.

Clubhouse is very nice but did not try the food.

Service was friendly and the starter was doing a good job.

Many of my partners did complain about the fact that the workers doing the topdressing and brushing of the greens did not seem to care at all that golfers were approaching and did little to get out of the way even when less than 50 yards from the green. So that really bothered them...I didn't let it bother me and I figured if he was going to be that brazen and go up and down the green when we were that close I wouldn't feel bad if he got hit because he didn't seem to care....but no-one was hit and it help me aim for the pin a little better. Shot a decent round too.

I would go back for sure but hope that the maintenance workers (of which I was one for a long time) learn to stop and move to the side when golfers are approaching.

I played this course on Aug. 24, 2009, and despite being fairly wet from recent rain, I thought it was in very good shape. I did notice some aeration on some fairways, and despite being an odd time of year for this, did not take away from the experience.

The greens were in very good shape, held most iron shots, and rolled well. If I could just learn how to putt, I would probably be more positive. I enjoyed the layout, and the fact every Par 5 is easily reachable for long hitters such as myself. Having 3-4 Birdie opportunities is always nice to eliminate some of those wasted shots.

I would recommend this course to anyone in the Hamilton area and GTA, and would definitely play this course in the future.

Played early the day they were aerating fairways. Had a much different experience...the tractors and the workers all stopped whenever we were hitting near them. Still would have been ticked if I had been paying full price though, especially since they didn't mention anything about it in the pro shop. The top dressed greens were messy but stilled rolled okay, just a little slow.
Had to start on the back nine, which isn't normally a big deal, but I wasn't quite ready for the 240 yd par 3 for my second tee shot of the day. Good practise area here too. Layout has a good mix of long and short holes with lots of trouble lurking with the long grass lining almost every hole.

I had already reviewed this course in the spring and had nothing bad to say at all. This course by far was the best conditioned I had seen before June. I thought it would be immaculate this time of year.

I played there yesterday and imagine my surprise during prime time golf season when they have all the greens top dressed and they are completely aerating the fairways during play! Some of the workers moved to the side for us while we hit our drives but not all and the tractors never stopped while we were shooting or putting. The leafblowers they were using were also quite distracting while we were trying to play also. Its like we were getting in the way of the workers.

To top thing off we were playing right behind a small scramble tournament whose final 2 groups must have been the slowest groups I have ever played behind. It took the marshalls way too long to try to speed them up as while we were on the fairway waiting to hit our second shots on our 5th hole, the group ahead wasn't at the green yet and there were 2 foursomes waiting on the tee!!

It was a frustrating round start to finish although I did manage to shoot a great score considering all the distractions. I was more disappointed for the 3 others I brought with me who were there for the first time and had this as their first impression of the course.

To make a very long story short...give this course a little time to recover from all the maintenance before playing here.

The power lines are a bit of a distraction and careful of the large waste bunkers be careful not to get it in the fescue watchout for that tree on number 12 and don't hit it into the water on 13 keep it in play on 18. There now go out and have fun.

I always love playing at Copetown when I can get a LMG time. They have 1st class facilities and I love their practice range with multiple greens to hit to and accurate yardage markings. The two putting and chipping greens are a great way to warm up before your round. I could spend hrs putting and never make the same shot twice.

This is not an easy course and I recommend it for the low to mid handicapper as beginners are most likely to leave frustrated. Accuracy off the tee is required and spraying the ball into the fescue will rack up a large score quickly and the course is heavily bunkered. Having said that the fairway widths are generous and so are the greens some of them are enormous and 80ft putts are a real possibility. The layout will require you to use every club in your bag and some of the shots you have to make really mess with head which I think is a sign of a great course.

Course conditions were excellent and it is very well marked with markers showing you front, middle and back yardages and flags that play front, middle, back is very helpful on a course with such large greens.

I find that this is one of the best LMG deals available.
