This is a wonderful layout... We didnt get to see the full potential of the course due to air-ation this week but easy to see what a great new course it is. Lots of changing elevations, rolling greens. Doglegs to hit certain yardages to be successful. A few holes with water in play. The toughest bunch of Par 3s i've played in quite some time. The bargain rate in late October at 25.00 was a nice topper for the day. Hope to enjoy your course on a mid-July day. Thanks

The good--a beautiful course, especially for a new course. Lots of changes in elevation, and different looks all the time. Not a course for walking (hills, and distance between holes--esp. #5) My opinion--over valued $77 round, until they get the clubhouse/amenities going. It is a beautiful course, and will only get better with time. Service---very pleasant for check in and starter, but never saw bev. cart until number 7, and only once more on back 9. Course layout--very difficult. Definitely not for a player of my handicap. Number 9 is a very interesting par 4 requiring two perfect shots in, and number 12 is a par 3 that is almost impossible to hold the green (190 y sloping away.) Aside from a couple of holes on the back 9--there is just no room to miss. This is a great challenge for a low handicapper, but this duffer struggled (and I thought my ball striking was not that bad). Playing this course a second time, after seeing the layout would make a big difference.
and the bad......a 5 hour PLUS round. Not totally sure why--we were told there was a slow group holding things back, but the course was not marshalled, and we only found this out at the finish. This included a twosome in front of us leaving at #13. A fellow LMG'er had a great round (39 front) going, but on the back it was not enjoyable, because it was wait, wait, wait. The proshop staff even commented that they expected more complaints.

Well friday was my 3rd round this season at Ottercreek and its STILL everything I expect from them. The practice facilities have come along nicely and the course is still in magnificent condition. Even though the greens were aerated recently they still roll smooth. 2 of us played in 3 hrs(taking our time) as we were the first off at 7:30am. Clubhouse is coming along and the first floor walls are starting to go up. If you haven't made the trip to Otterville yet its worth getting down to before the season is over! As each year passes this course should get better and better!

I've played worldwide for over 30 years and have never been more impressed by a golf course until I played here. Absolute MAGIC !
Played here again yesterday for the first time since June and things are coming along nicely. The clubhouse is still under construction but they have added more deck with a tent in front of the temporary clubhouse to enjoy a cold beverage.
The practice range has grown in quite well. It has multiple target greens with red/white/blue flags for distances. There is another putting green and a sand/chipping area. I have to go early and work on some stuff one of these times.
As for the course itself the layout is quite nice and at times very unique. I do agree that a hole like #9 will be too hard for the average golfer but a lost ball is well worth playing something different. The course was proberably in the best condition it has ever been since everything was perfectly manicured since today the great lakes tour had a stop there with many playing a practice round yesterday.
If you haven't had the chance yet go and play this course. It may be hard for many with the only time they seem to post being the 2:50 but hopefully they will see the benefit of LMG and start making more times available. Also I heard yesterday they may have GPS available soon.
Here's a course that will test your skills. Great layout, the first few holes are somewhat uneventful, but then the course really shows it's character. The back nine especially. You'd swear you were in the Muskoka's somewhere. Fantastic scenery, great greens and definitely worth the drive to Otterville. If I had to make one ngative point, its the bunkers and the abundance of clover on the sides of the fairway. I find it to be too penial. It makes it super tough to find your ball and quite frankly, slows down the pace of play. Oh well, I guess you try to stay out of that stuff. Will play there again in a heart beat. Enjoy!

Played there yesteday and was quite surprised. On my first few holes, I ended up in the sand traps (gravel pits) on both sides of the fairway due to the extremly hard surface of the fairway. Other than that, there was very little excitement for these first holes. After this the course changes dramatically with some exciting play due to the creek and change in elevation which quickly erased the bad memories of the first few holes.
Overall it was a great experience and I cant wait for the course to mature some more so that the ball will stick a bit better to the fairways and greens.
Will be back as soon as I can scoop another Red Flag deal.
Anyone who has played this course would notice the lack of alcoholic beverages to enjoy during the round. Well effective immediately they are now licensed.
Also, their clubhouse is under construction and the practice range is open for use. Many of the complaints about this course are now being met and it seems as it will be a first class course in the near future.
I reccommend playing this course now and take advantage while the rates are as great as they are!!
4 red flag tee time 4 guys call in sick 4 lost balls on #9 Priceless....
The course is well worth the drive if you are outside of the Woodstock area. Fantastic layout, lots of very intimidating tee shots and very interesting elevation changes. The green were in fantastic condition all rolled true and were fair in terms of the speed. The 4 of us all agreed to make the drive down again before the end of the season. Only complaint and I use that lightly was the lack of a beer cart.....oh and number #9 I left my pro v1 at the edge of that ravine!!!
We also played at Tarandowah the next day as we were still in the area. I realize this is not a LastMinute course (yet!!) but if you get a chance swing by a great new links course.

We played Otter Creek for the 2nd time on August 2 and I must say I really enjoy the layout, except for a couple of things. First, the sand traps are terrible, they should be renamed to gravel traps. Secondly, the 12th green is impossible to keep a ball on the green. The entire foursome hit the green and only 2 found their balls that rolled off the back. There is no rough behind the green and your ball rolls into the ditch & jungle behind it. Let the rough grow!!! The play was extremely slow for the time of day, 2:50 tee time. Luckily it was a red flag time!!! But I will be back.

Ok, I know I am going to get a negative response but here goes. With tat thought no, I didn't have a poor score. Actually scored well a 79. Played here last week and I will say it is in great shape and the greens role true and fast. However, I think the layout of the course is terrible. I played from the blues and from here you have 6 blind tee-offs. Now my partner whom I was golfing with, has helped design three courses and was wondering why so many blind shots from a tee off. I had to agree, and before we saw hole 9 it was just a question then we figured the designer must have wanted to frustrate people. why not move all the tee offs back to where the golds are and have a green at the front of the ravine? I just think the average golfer will be in the ravine, seeing how I hit a 3 wood and was teetering on the edge of the longer grass.
I felt the back nine was much more fair with fewer blind shots. I think if there was a picture of the hole on the large hole signs it would be much more helpful. For example hole 16 has a huge down hill run to it but we were unsure what was ahead or how far it was to the edge etc. Because it was busy we could not drive down and back without holding up the rest of the course. When we got up to the top there was much ground under repair and we could have hit driver as it ran right down. The eighteenth hole is very scenic and looks wonderful from the block. Not knowing the course we played it for the 200 yard marker and were astounded that from there again a blind shot and unable to see the green at all. To us we felt this took away from the course as I don't think the average golfer would place an accurate drive of 240 to get to the 150 marker as there is only another 30 yards to the end of the fairway.
The staff there is absolutely wonderful. They were friendly, helpful and happy to see you arrive. Will be wonderful when they complete the clubhouse as I think they will then reverse the nines and make your start to the round more enjoyable as not so many blind shots. I will play it again, knowing the course and the layout I may enjoy it more but may not.
Well played my second round in 2 weeks here and the course seems to get better each time! Played via LMG for $50 w/cart. We were the 2nd threesome off in the am @ 7:40 and that allowed us to finish by 10:50! Played my worst round of the year but aside from that the course was in tremendous condition and the greens rolling fast and true. Little disappointed the range was closed 1st thing but they have to do work on it sometime. All and all you won't find a better deal if your willing to make a bit of a drive. Try it...you won't regret it!

This course has the truest greens that I've played all year, and the fairways aren't far behind. My only complaint is the sand used in the bunkers - it was more line a real fine gravel like material. Played Saturday under perfect weather conditions and the course was in excellent shape. I didn't get a LMG time, but the regular rate walking was in the low 50 dollar range and absolutely worth every penny! One of the nice features about the course is the walking friendly design. Just make sure you don't miss the turn off the main road and you're in for a real treat!
Played a red flag time on Friday July 31. The layout is fantastic with the exception of greens 5/8 being too close and having to backtrack from 17 to 18 tee. Pace of play was awful...5hrs 10min but there was about a 20 minute rain delay. No marshall on the course and the cart girl only made 1 visit. The course conditions and quality of holes are top notch but management needs to improve on the "little things" to make it that much better.

All I can say is wow!!!! The condition of this course is of a five star quality. The greens roll very nice. Played the blue/white combo tees and it was rewarding and challenging layout. Really need to bring the managing cap on for a few holes. Hole #9 is quite the challenge and all I can say is use your driver! Twilight is at 2 pm and well worth the $55 (includes cart). The price value of on a weekend is second to none as long as you can take the 90 minute drive from the GTA. I liked it so much I am golfing it again next weekend.
GREAT COURSE! Hidden Gem. A little off the beaten path but worth the adventure. Great young track with a superb layout (although I think the 9th is a little TOO challenging for 20+ hdcp player) Hard fast greens....PERFECT tees are beautiful and flat! Fairways are great considering the course is less than 2 yrs old (better than a lot of public/muni tracks) The range should be open now and they are saying a clubhouse next year sometime but I can live with the trailer to play a great track (I feel like I'm back at Mystic lol) I would strongly recommend this course should be carts only too many long drives between holes. Played #9 as a foursome and caught a walking twosome before #10 tee and they never stopped! Enjoy!

Played Wednesday afternoon with three friends at the red flag rate and were very impressed with the layout. The course has some great elevation changes which made a lot of the holes really stand out. Many more positives than negatives for this course and the one hour drive from Hamilton will bring us back again for sure.

loved it. thought the course was an absolute joy to play.the variety of tee blocks made for some very scenic tee shots. course condition was better than i expected for still being a "new" course. the fact that there is no clubhouse yet was irrelevant. i am already looking forward to going back.

Great layout. Great Price. Easy drive from Hamilton. Driving range and clubhouse still under construction. But, once complete....golf heaven! The course is not yet licensed, I'm assuming because there is no clubhouse. Very cute cart girl! The fairways and greens are well kept. Rough is not over grown and is fair. Beautiful looking holes. Lots of raised tee areas and challenging drives from the blues. I can see this course being our regular weekly round! Well worth the drive and I highly recommend!

Beautiful Tee boxes , Fairways with perfect grass and Greens that ran so true if you missed a putt it was your own fault. But the 9th hole needs softening . Uphill and into the wind I was only 20 yards from the end of the fairway with my drive and a well hit 4 wood didn't clear the gully. I'm sure some people just skip this hole. The greens will soften with time. Fix the 9th hole, build the clubhouse and my ratings go up to 5 stars.

Played today, loved the layout, BUT....fairways still need to "grow in" a bit (some pretty hard pan lies out there), and we found the greens didn't hold as well as expected.
Bunkers have some pebbles/rocks, similar to Grey Silo...and there was a lack of RAKING of ANY traps...WTF???? (also a lot of ball marks on greens!)
Saw the Cart Girl MORE than we needed to, but she never got in the way. Lousy selection of chocolate bars (i.e., No Mars Bars!!!?)
Cart paths get your bags/shoes very dusty!
...and some CRAZY LONG distances between holes (2 guys in front of us Walked), especially from #9 to #10, not to mention that both holes go Uphill!
...and the one hole that we agreed needs to be addressed is #17, you have to wait until the group in front of you finishes, then comes back down to the 18th tee! They should make it MANDATORY that the trailing group "hits up"...this will be more prevalent when/if the course is busy!!
All the Par 3's are AWESOME, though I'm sure someone will be injured on #5/#8 someday with errant shots (I went over the green on #5, and some guy playing #8 picked up my ball, as I was walking towards it!)
#9 & #18 are standouts (I managed to par them both, thanks to great drives!) I do see #9 being near-impossible for many women/seniors/short hitters, that's a heckuva carry on the 2nd shot, and even if you lay-up (and unlike Mystic, there's no other option!!)
Getting there we took the 59/Springford route from Toronto (via 401), but there's Construction on "Otterville Rd.", luckily it being Sunday, we were able to get thru. That is clearly faster than taking the other route (which we took back both day btw, since we went to Camp 31 in Paris afterwards)
In summary, this course MORE than lived up to my expectations, and having played Tarandowah(again) the day before, I can't wait to play Otter Creek again & again & again!!!!
Played this course today with my nephew and we both enjoyed it. We both agreed a second round would be even better. For the first time out we found it a little tricky not knowing the course at all. No yardage books made yet which could have helped but the course is new and we understand all things in due process. The greens were spectacular for such a new course and provided some interesting breaks. Cart girl was friendly and available several times through our round. We barely got out of our car and someone was there to get our clubs and make sure we were taken care of. With no club house, yet, the service was excellent and we will be back for sure. Fun layout.
The course keeps looking better every time I play here. The staff are constantly doing maintenance as is expected for such a new course and the results are showing.
There are currently a few fairways that have been recently aerated but it didnt affect play at all. The greens are a bit hard so sometimes 1 less club into them was helpful. This makes getting it to stick on the very hard Par 3 12th hole with the usual left side pin nearly impossible.
If you have not played this course definetely make the trip. The layout is great, the scenery beautiful and the value is second to none, especially the red flag rates.
Took the plunge on Sunday with Albatross. Nice drive down about 1 hr 10 minutes from Burlington. Got there with a little help from the proshop. Golf was great .. excellent greens & fairways .. rough is still new and growing in. Played from the tips (oops) very tough course from there .. but worked my way around it. Some long carries from back there, but and wide range of tees makes this playable for anyone, just pick the right one. There is definately a certain way to play this course. Some of your approaches will get cut off if you are on the wrong side of the fairway. Need to go back figure out the best way around. Not licensed yet & cart girl is very active, but selection is limited. Stopped at Ritchie's Ice cream & BBQ, on 59 south of Norwich, on the way back for a nice Lunch before heading back. All around a good day and I will make the trip back.

We took the plunge and drove out there, a long drive but in retrospect well worth it.It is a remarkable course beautifully laid out and in near perfect condition. It certainly challenged our talents with a number of risk reward shots unfortunately in my case mainly the result was risk.I strongly reccommend that all players should go out and play this course st least once.Idealy you could combine it with another course in the area if coming from Toronto and stay locally overnight, however if you live west of Toronto and in the Cambridge area what a bonus to have a course of this quality on your doorstep
