Played this course over the weekend - one of those weekends that is rare in Michigan for November. We had a 9 a.m. tee time and temperatures started at 50'ish and ended in the mid-60's by 1:30 p.m. Because this course is a links-style course, there are no trees to deal with on 99% of the course. We chose this course for a couple of reason - price and the fact that there were no leaves to deal with. Turned out to be a good choice. That said, this course was in great shape for November. Greens rolled true - no aeration marks. The only problem on the greens were where deer had passed through. The wind was blowing around 15 - 25 mph which made the par 3's more challenging than normal. Since there is little shelter on this course, problems off the tee are going to be exposed quickly. The par fours are all of average length from the blue tees. The shortest par 4's are holes #1, #2 & #14. #2 is reachable off the tee if you are a big hitter but the green is mounded and provides a good challenge on your second shot. Anything long is trouble. The par fives are all challenging and can be reached in two if you are long off the tee from the blues. The final three holes consist of two long par four's and a par 5 17th that requires either a layup off the tee to around 210 yards (making it a three shot par 5) or a carry of about 255 from the blue tees. Either way, you have to think your way around the 17th. The biggest challenge on this course was the wind. Also, I have played this course in the middle of summer and have had some long rounds. But, on this day, it was moving well. A bonus for November golf in Michigan. The fact that there are no fallen leaves to deal with makes this course an easy pick to play in the fall season in Michigan. A pleasant surprise - would play again.

8:00 tee time and we were a little early - thankfully. The first tee was slightly backed up, but starter did a good job of keeping people moving along. Round took about 4 hours for two. Dreary, damp day was perfect for European style wide open course. No trees at all except around the perimeter, but slopes and rough made for challenging round.
Okay course for the money, but a bit too much of a shooting gallery. Greens would be very fast on dry, hot day, but they were appropriately challenging in damp conditions. Fairways and greens in very good condition and rough was deep and difficult.
I probably wouldn't pay more than $20 for this course with the other options available for slightly more. Clubhouse was awful (big barn with nothing inside and the turn did not take you through the clubhouse for a bathroom / beverage break.

You gotta love a tee time at 845 am.As I came around the corner to the 1st hole I seen 4 foursomes.I went to talk to the starter and suggested to start people on the back.He said there was people coming to the turn.THANKS for the 5 hour round!Then we play for skins and paired us up with a elderly couple NEVER AGAIN.I wont go back to the pole parn/clubhouse ever again.

Played on Friday with a few people from work. Course was in great shape, staff took good care of us, and got us out on time. Pound for Pound the best deal in oakland county!
Not too many rounds left in the year but will definately make at least one more of them at Blackheath.

Plan on 5 1/2 hours for 18 holes, at least. This course gets packed and backed up very easily. There is usually a wait before every shot. Otherwise, the course is great.

I had to cancel my reservation and the way the service staff handeled it was top notch!! Thanks Mike! They were able to get me in the next day and when i told them i made my reservation on LMG their was no confusion and no price change. The course layout and condition were excellent. Beer cart staff were always around when needed. The only thing was the time it took to play a round of golf but it was on a sunday and was expected. I will definetly return. Thanks Everyone.

The course was in great condition even considering the amount of rain we received in the previous few days. There were a few wet spots which was to be expected. Course played fairly easy since the greens were holding any shot that hit the green. The greens were in great shape for the most part. Ranger/Starter kept the pace moving as we played our round in just about 4 hours. Beer Cart girl was friendly as was the manager. Wish the clubhouse and concessions were open later. We will definitely return.
the course layout was great and the coditions were well maintained. the greens were smooth as can be and the pace was great. that is about as far as the good goes. the clubhouse staff was very untrained and if you plan on booking a tee time on lmg.com plan on missing your tee time and watching 5 other groups walk up and pay without a scheduled tee time and get on before you while you sit and wait for the manager. we finally got out 5 min late for our tee time and was in a three group line once it got going though the pace was great. at the turn however the grill cart was gone so we went into the clubhouse and was met with the entire concessions area closed. after consoulting the staff and asking if food was avaliable they said they were getting ready to close down. 6:00 shutdown? well ok they were nice enough to make some dogs for us and bring them out to us at the 10th green and for that i appreciate it so i cant down them on that. overall good course bad service experiance

7 AM tee time, 3 1/2 hour round, very fast. Course looked busy as the day wore on, so the earlier, the better. Course was in fantastic shape. Some tough holes, but overall, very playable. Greens were in very good condition, some ball marks, but nothing too problematic. I will definitely play this course again!
Played Blackheath today. The course was in very nice shape. Played about a 5 hour round, which was a little slower than I would like on a weekday midday. But it wasnt too bad for how busy it was. The cart girls were cute and came around often (at least 5 or 6 times during the round). I would recommend this course to a higher handicapper. There isnt too much trouble and it isnt all that long. Overall it was a good experience, if you can get it cheap play here.

Very fair golf course.Played from the second to back tees and the whole group shot in the low 80's.Have played the course several times this year and am happy with the price thru LMG.Will play it more before the year is out.

Play this course almost every Sunday. Mostly because of the price and layout of the course. However, this past Sunday the rudeness of the ranger has made me reconsider my choice as making this my "weekly" course. I paid my money and tee'd off at 6:30am I don't need a ranger yelling at me to hurry up and take my fist tee shot with one 2-some behind us. Poor customer service on ranger part and owner/manager said "he would take care of it" which we all know means jack squat!

I had fun playing the course, despite the blind shots into areas of heather. The cart girl only stopped by once, preventing a celebratory birdie beer. The course has multiple areas that lead to congestion and longer than expected waits.
Just finished playing this course 3 hours ago. Not a bad track. One dislike would be that it is not very "first time" user friendly. A lot of blind shots and a lot of good shots that end up bad because of no local knowledge. Definately not a "what you see" type of course. This course is a 1 hour drive from the border and there are at least 3-4 other courses in the area that are better. However the $15 paid at another site (rhymes with cheezy winks) was worth the $$$.

Great course for the money! Not a very diffucult course, but not too easy either. One of the best things about this course is the value for the dollar. It is very nice for the price your paying. Also, if you get an early t-time, the pace is fast. You can get through a round of 18 in just 3 hours.

Fun links course that keeps up very nice. The course plays a lot harder than first appearance given the length they keep the rough. Nonetheless a very good challenge. Not much in the way of a clubhouse. Both times I played there was a little too much traffic on the course and there was waiting at every hole.

This course is a pleasure to play. Our group had never played BlackHeath before and were surprised by its diamond in the rough exterior. This club is special and we will be golfing there again soon. The front nine was in great shape. The back is a bit less forgiving. Its hard to find a well balanced links style course in this area but the people of BlackHeath have done it to near perfection. NICE WORK!
course was in great shape. have played several times this year. first time that greens seemed a little slow. beverage girl is friendly and comes frequently. clubhouse...not much there, but who cares? good course, nice layout, GREAT PRICE

very nice mix of risk reward holes and tough par fours.....greens are in great shape consisdering the amount of play this cours recieves and for the 25.00 green fees during the week booking through lmg...you can't go wrong with this course a must play if you hav'nt already.
