On Oct. 29 (8C) the course still showed what a great design and challenge it is. Lots of winter prep work was being done but we played and the greens ran true. Great views of the Sound and very attentive service. Nice restaurant too.

Decided to drive up to Cobble Beach on Tues after thanksgiving. Drive was wet and cool on our way up but cleared up shortly after our round started. The staff was excellent and the course definitely lived up to the hype. The green had been punched but because of the new technology they rolled very true. Its definitely worth the drive and if you can get a red flag for this course you will definitely be pleased. Cant wait to play it again when the weather warms up

We played there Thanksgiving Monday and stayed over night at the resort. The course was in great shape. Our experience from the greeting at the Bag drop, to the Pro shop, to the practise range, to the half way house and later the resort was top notch. Truly a great getaway. Only wish we could have stayed longer.
The course was in amazing shape, fairways, greens and surprizingly bunkers. We were told it had rained pretty solid on and off for the last few days. But each bunker was completely raked and ready for our balls. :)
The greens are fast, but fair. The other posting are correct, it is one of the "Must have to plays" in all of Ontario. And don't forget your camera. The leaves were turning colour and it was beautiful, we even saw some wild turkeys and a blue heron.
We teed off in early in the afternoon and I think that we were the only ones on the course, we did see a couple other golfers at the end of our round at the bar, but that was it...
By the way, Great views of Owen Sound from the luxurious bar, nice fireplace too.
All in all one of our best golfing experiences of the year, which included trips to the D.R. and Mrytle Beach. And it's only a three hour drive. :)
Can't say enough about a great golf course such as Cobble Beach. It's a must play and now with the fall colors in play it's even more enticing. Careful of the false front on number one and don't let the greens fool you on 6 number 5 seems long but reachable in two just don't make a 6 like I did take your time and read the greens. When we arrived the sun was just coming up over the bay so have fun and enjoy the picture perfect setting.

Great track..easily one of the best not just on LMG but anywhere. Only real sore spot is the construction all around, but once all the house are built it will still be a great one. Greens are fast, fairways too. Lots of rolling landscape...rarely a flat lie anywhere. Good range. Bit of a tough walk between holes, but I enjoyed the walk as well as the views. Never seems to be busy either.

One of the best courses I have played in Ontario. The scenery overlooking Georgian Bay is breathtaking in many of the holes - you gotta see it first hand to appreciate the beauty of this course. Greens are always in great shape and rolls true - a point of advice in reading the greens, everything falls off into the water. If you are playing in one of those early morning tee times, bring a jacket, as it can get a bit chilly and windy with the wind gusting over the bay...also one of the best burgers I have had at any golf course! Great patio to have lunch and/or a drink after the round - overlooking the finishing hole.

Just a wonderful course. 16,17, 18 are fantastic finishing holes. Greens are not for the faint hearted, but are fair once you get a feel for them. Doug Carrick design that seems a little different from his other designs. This is not a criticism, but a complement to this master. Staff were great, and the starter may have given the longest opening spiel that I have ever heard....but his pride in the course and facility were reflected by his comments. After hearing him you couldn't wait to get started. An easy two hour drive from Brampton which will become a yearly must play.

Amazing course! Breath taking views from several holes. Bring your camera if you are a photographer. Similar to Furry Creek (BC). The condition was perfect, service was great from the pro shop to the club house restaurant. (Great burgers) The course layout is great, challenging yet still enjoyable for a mid handicap golfer. The green is fast and well kept. It's far, but worth the trip!

This course is a gem in the province of Ontario. It is in a housing development on the edge of Owen Sound and you can see the water from every hole. They have great practice facilities, from driving range, sand traps, putting greens. One thing, when the starter tells you that every putt goes towards the water, I suggest that you truly do believe him. Halfway house has great food that you can order on your cart from the 9th hole and its hot and waiting for you. Menu is better than average. The staff are upbeat and friendly, the dining room, bar and patio are all above average. Food is great, wine list is extensive and selection of draft beers is great, including 10W30 a dark beer from a local cottage brewery in Neustadt. Well worth the trip to Owen Sound.

Played on Thursday, August 18th and we finished our round before the rain. Very scenic and the course was in fantastic shape. Greens were large and lightening fast, but true. Staff were all very friendly and helpful including at The Inn where we spent the night. Highly recommend this course as a Stay & Play and it is definitely worth the drive. Looking forward to playing it again in the Fall.
Played here on Thursday. Cobble Beach is a treat to play. If you get the chance, play it. Lush fairways and tee boxes, beautiful rolling greens that were 9-10 on the stimp. Kepp in mind when you play, everything rolls toward "The Sound". My only suggestions for the course. Your GPS on the carts is off by some 10-15 yards. And this is constant throughout your round. Also, on the par threes in particular, could you not put down a yardage marker so we don't have to drve right beside the tee box to check yardage?

I finally got to play this much talked about course. Played with two other LMG Golfers. Everything said about this course is coorect. It it very scenice, the fairways and greens are in excellent shape. The greens are lighning fast and have very many breaks on each hole. Don't be surprised to 3-4 putt on many holes. GPS and electronic scorecards on the cart. Also water on ice on your cart, fresh fruit and a free divot tool complimented this great round of golf. I redeemed yards to pay for free. Will be back now that I know the layout of the holes. It should be nice in the fall.Worth the drive !!

Wow, played this in 2008. Cannot say enough about the course and the staff. All clubs should send there staff to Cobble for training. It was nothing but a pleasure.
Played it on Thursday and the course is in fantastic shape. Rained all the way up but stopped when we got to the first tee. Must have great drainage as no water build up anywhere. If you get a chance to play in the Owen Sound area, it's a must play. Views are amazing, everything is top notch.
This must be the best course I have ever played. Wonderful greens and lush fairways manicured to perfection. Wild life at your fingertips as wild turkeys scampered across the fairway with wonderful vistas at just about every hole. This is truly a test of your golf game for the adventure of reaching the green is only intensified by your ability to read the subtle nuances within the greens themselves. A definite must play again.

WOW! It's golf on another level. It's the best golf experience I've had thus far in Ontario. Granted I'm kinda new and haven't play alot of courses yet. Just a day to remember really. Everything was just immaculate. The setting was just so nice that I didn't mind or got too upset with my bad score. Once the whole premise is completely constructed, we'll definitely come back for a visit.
Highlights: -Awsome views of the Georgian Bay. -High class setting / feel. Excellent course conditions. -Hi-tech carts with awsome GPS system (It's like 10in high resolution showing every details). Comes with a personal cooler with ice also.
Lowlights: -Still some construction going on in some areas. -Crazy fast greens. -Carts can get annoying as it shutdowns if you're near the green or beebs at you if you go past the speed limit of 15mph. -Location can be windy.

WOW... My brother in law and I were visiting my inlaws this weekend and decided to try Cobble Beach Golf Links for the very first time. Excellent Staff, beautiful club house with all imenities imaginable. Pro shop was well outfitted too. After our 30mins on the range hitting a 100 ball pyramid, we made our way to the first tee to free apples and a welcoming starter! Course is intense... greens were FAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTT! and was hard to find your ball mark most of the time! Don't get fooled by the open fairways... greens are small and undulating in many cases but fair. Every shot, you have to think of where you want to end up. It was a beautiful day... and the views were spectacular... Don't miss out... this is a must play! Our only issue was the wedding that was taking place between the 9th and 18th greens... I would hate to have to share the stone bridge and my wedding ceremony with golfers and their carts. Good luck!

What a fantastic course! The pro shop staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The starter was friendly and gave good tips. The course was in excellent condition and the views of the Bay were awesome. This course is well worth the drive and a bargain at LMG rates. GPS is available on the carts and helped enormously. A must to golf!

Wow! I just realized I rated this course a 5 out of 5. Never done that before and I wouldn't easily give 5 stars. Booked a great rate from LMG way under what you'd pay for a course of this quality in Toronto/Niagara Falls area. Our foursome arrived and was greeted by friendly staff that drove the carts out to our car. After using the complementary driving range and practice green, we headed to the starter who has apples and a free Cobble Beach divot repair tool.
Not exactly sure how I would label this course but somewhere in between links and parkland. Absolutely incredible views. Probably Owen Sounds version of Pebble Beach. The layout was well thought out and offers quite a few risk reward holes. Everything here is first class. I know it's a small thing but even the maintenance area where they store supplies and equipment was immaculate.
The greens where some of the best I've ever played on. FAST and TRUE, yet they would still hold a short iron approach shot.
Note, if you get wind this course, it will be a bear. On 18 I hit Driver, three wood, five wood into a dead on wind and just got to the front right bunker. (I hit driver 285 on average)
We didn't want the to leave afterwards so we stayed after in the club's dining room for an absolutely delicious buffet (roast beef, shrimp, pastas, salad) for about $32 from friendly staff. Again, amazing views from your air conditioned table of the water and groups finishing up on #18.
You can definitely put this one on your must play list; you won't be disappointed.

Took my Dad to Cobble for father's day. The greens had just been rolled the day before. They are fast but will hold a line. They had rain the day before we went and the fairways held up very well. The fairways were firm and the greens receptive but they are large greens and attention to pin placement is critical. I found the starter and ground crews to be friendly and respectful. The views are spectacular looking back from the greens is breath taking. I couldn't get a last minute rate but I still thought it was a good value and had a very enjoyable day.
AWESOME fun !! My group and I ventured up to Cobble this weekend for our annual. We played Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, AFTER the 3 1/2 inches of rain. The course handled the water amazingly well. It was soggy but by no means un-playable. Warren Thomas and his staff treated us very well and considering the conditions we had a great day. As usual, the staff is friendly and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your day. Sunday was another GREAT day with temps in the high 20's and blazing sun. The course began to show it's teeth while it dried out. We again were treated very well. Especially when we were late for our tee time and Jamie in the shop got us out with plenty of time to even warm up a bit. Over all this course is a great track with every club being used and lots of elevation changes to keep you interested and focused. My favourite holes now are the par 5 12th (driver, 5 wood to 3 ft for the eagle) and as usual 15. I finally figured out where to come in from to hold it where I want it to land. Two rounds from the tips and a 139 total makes for a fun couple of days.
Great weekend of golf and a great track to play it on. If you choose to go to Cobble Beach you will have a great day of golf.
