Played July 22. Got deal from Golfnow for 28 and change course is charging 29. Now for my review which Golfnow does not seem to have. Don't want to say to many things bad about the course like people have for Magnolia Point and have this taken off. As for the other reviews they are correct. Greens were spotty and bumpy, weeds in the fairway and sand traps were needing attention. Some sand traps have drain pipes sticking out of them.
The temp Clubhouse is a place to pay for round and grab a drink, nothing else. No cart person grab a drink inside, but how could you have a cart going with no one using the course. Parking lot is sand, gravel, and holes. Carts are in pretty bad shape everyone had half a windshield because the other half had broken off, the seats also have alot of mold because they sit outside all the time in the sandy parking lot.
The real club house was started but now just sits. Weeds, half built building, sandy parking lot sure does give this a Muni Look.

We played Panther Creek today & those greens are not like ANY in JAX. Augusta like moguls & undulations, but stimpmeter of 9-10. The course has improved since I last played 3 years ago, with better cart paths and nice driving range. Still no planned BIG clubhouse, but small one is better than trailer that was there. Course is still rough around edges, but little sand & water in play make it playable for all levels of play from 6 tee boxes. Good value for price & hope that course improves with age. I dare anyone to play from BLACK tees...7500 yds.

I played the shotgun game Tuesday for the first time and had a good time. You can't beat the value when you only pay 25 bucks and that includes the meal and free range balls. The course itself is awesome with the greens about average but fast. I was impressed how everything ran so smooth and wondered was this typical when you have about 80 people going at once. I will definitely be back to give this another go!

I really enjoyed the overall layout of the course, which has ahigh premium on finding the fairway. Some shots even five to ten yards off are unplayable and you can't find your shot. The bunkers were dissapointing though, needs lots of work. The greens are coming through transition nicely. Played 7/12/09. I will be back!

Course layout is challenging, to say the least. You will have opportunities to use every club in the bag. Bunkers are sad though. Bunkers as small (some less that 6 feet across) as some of these should not be green side and (if they are going to be there)should have sand in them, no drain tiles sticking up at least one foot above the playing surface. Clubhouse is temporary and looks more like a half way house than a full-service clubhouse. People were nice though. Course just has a muni feel to it.

I have played here just three times in the past and have always enjoyed it.However I came back to play 6/28/09 and was very disappointed. The greens were moldy, bare and very bumpy, heavy weeds in the fairway and sand traps were needing attention. I do love the layout and the challenge, but will not be back for some time.

Played 7-12 with my wife, and my nephew as our caddy. Tee'd off at 1:00, and never saw another golfer. Fairways are in near perfect shape. Most tee boxes are good. All 18 greens look like the skin of a leopard frog - green with faint yellow spots. Typical transitional greens with bermuda overtaking the dying rye grass. Funny though, that the back nine putted faster than the front. I expect the greens to be perfect in a couple of weeks. The aprons around the greens are perfect. Many of the sand traps need to be refilled. Look for e-mail specials from PCGC. I like the new "senior" rate for those 50 and older.
Played 7/9 and dodged the rain after taking cover for 45 min. The course drained better than expected. Greens are in transition therefore frustrating some very bumpy some not but at least they hold shots with all the rain we have had. Fairways were in good shape, rough is a mixed bag of grass, fescue and at times weeds. Some areas of the course seem to be unmaintained and/or unfinished. Great layout, fair price, decent shape. Just wish I could have at least been able to get a sandwich! Geeeeez I go out for the all you can play special and can get nothing but chips or crackers.....At least there was water and beer!

I must take issue with the previous reviewer.
I am a regular player at Panther Creek, and played this course last week Sunday. I also spoke with friends and associates whom played there on the 4th. NOT ONE of them agreed with previous reviewer's assertion. Fact: greens are in transition from rye grass to bermuda. This might cause greens to be bumpy in some spots. Not horrible, but very playable. Fact: fairways are on a watering schedule, unless rain occurs. They are mowed on schedule. Fact: Panther Creek GC is NOT up for sale. I verified that with the owner. Fact: PCGC is constantly improving their course. Precious funds are spent to achieve. this. I find it disingenuous to post an untrue review. If you had a bad round, or the like, don't take it out on the course.

Oh my gosh! I don't know what happened to this course since June 28th but I played on 7/4 and it was absolutely different! I have played this course many times and always rave about it but it was in horrible shape on the 4th! It looked as though no water had been on the course in weeks. Weeds have taken over the fairways. On hole 2 I hit a shot in the middle of the fairway and it was honest to goodness unplayable because it was in weeds so thick I couldn't get the ball out...in the fairway! The back 9 was better as at least the fairways were in better shape but the greens were nothing to write home about. I have never been so disappointed in a course in all of my life. If you don't believe me see for yourself.

Played on 6/28/09. Course in great condition. Greens in excellent shape as well as the fairways. Greens rolled true but very tough due to undulations. Pace of play was good for a weekend. The staff is very friendly and appear to care about their customers. Need to make sure you have plenty of beverages during the summer days as clubhouse closes early and cart girl is gone by late afternoon. Great value and layout for the price

6/22/09 fathers day golf is one of my favorite days.i swear everytime i play this course i get jerk around by the staff before i can even get out there. thank god i like this course, its what keeps me coming back.as always the course played pretty well, greens spotty but roll well, tee boxes and fairways decent shape, starting to get alittle weedy though guys.bunkers and rough could use some attention.the waste bunkers/cart paths,i hate you!score card down the drain.GPS and free range balls are nice.i have to say as tough as this course plays,it should be in better condition.but for 30 to 40 bucks worth it everytime.OH,the chilled towels that smell like lavender are a nice touch, not so easy to explain to the lady. Thanks for ass kicking PCGC.

Played Sunday AM as a foursome. Very nice - not too hot, with a slight breeze. Lots of good things to post about PCGC. The course, overall is in better than decent shape. You'll find most tee boxes, greens, and fairways in very playable condition. With all the undulations everywhere, it must be difficult to mow evenly. Not to mention holding fertilizer, pesticide etc, without just running off. Hats off to Will and crew for the good work. The greens ran med-fast, and most were soft enough to leave pitch marks. They don't look emerald green, but putt fairly true. I really like their GPS cart set-up. It's small and simple. It tells you in bold numbers, distance to greens centers. That's all you need. Play this course. They're very reasonably priced. They treat you well. Remember to play correct tee box. It'll enhance your enjoyment.
I played on Sunday and I really enjoyed the course. The greens were ok. They do need some work but I didn't think they were horrible. I wish the score card had the course layout because I had no idea were the holes went a few time. It is a tougher course but very fun to play.

Played on 6/20. Really liked the layout, but greens were in not so good shape...very little grass in many spots. If they can get the grass to grow in many areas off the fairway, this could be a great course. Plus, it was almost 100 degrees yesterday, and 2 of the water coolers were empty and no ranger was to be found during the whole round. Some better management would take care of these issues.

This is one of my new favorite courses in Jax. The course conditions were very good. Greens rolled true. The course layout was very challenging but fair. The carts had a GPS which told the yardages which was nice but there was no map of the hole to tell you where to hit from the tees. I am looking forward to playing again with the knowledge of the course. We played at 11:10 on 6/13 and the course was wide open. Range balls were included in the greens fees. Great value.
Fun to play and very challenging with severe undulated greens

Played on 6/8/09. Course in great condition even after all the rain over the weekend. Greens in excellent shape as well as the fairways. Friendly staff. My only complaint relates to lack of cart girl during late rounds and the fact that they close the clubhouse early. Great value and layout for the price.

the course is in great shape. The only problem that I had that ruined my whole round was no water in the water coolers and the club-house was closed by 5:00. I was unable to get anything to drink for over 12 holes of my round. Other than that, the course is great.

Played on Sunday mornin. This is truly a unique layout. The greens were the best I have seen in town(currently) and I live on a course. The fairways and rough seemed to b dying in some places this kinda puzzled me being that the greens rolled so true and were nice and lush. Cart girls were friendly and there is free range balls! Pace of play is the best in town I think. I have never had a slow round there. The only problem is that if ur not on ur game this course is brutal so b prepared to shoot a high number, and bring a keg of bug spray these little bastards r persistent. Overall one of the best values in town.
Played Sat 5/30.The starter asked a single to join our 2 some and told us to prepare for a slow round. We expected to be waiting on every shot but aside from a couple par 3s, we never waited on anyone and didnt have anyone pushing us. Over all the course is in good shape. The greens were pretty tough to read but they rolled great. We were met by the cart girl atleast 4 times and we were happy to see her as it was very hot on Sat. If I had to complain about something, the bunkers need some attention, most of them are hard packed making it a real challenge for an up and down from greenside. (They also have free range balls.)Looking forward to my next PC round.

Playing at Pantherecreek was awesome. The greens are out of control hard, that is because they are very difficult. I am looking forward to playing there again as soon as possible. Keep up the great job out to the staff. For those of you looking for a secret sneak away from the busier courses check this place out. c-ya soon Sammy

I love the layout of the course, it is visually intimidating but after you play it a couple of times you get a better feel for the course and realize the landing areas are more spacious than they look from the tee box. I love the greens, although they frustrate me every time I play, very challenging. My biggest complaint is that none of the bunkers around the greens are raked so if you go into one, you are basically hitting out of mud or hard packed dirt. If they aren't going to have them raked, then let the grass grow and make them grass bunkers.
