Great greens(including the practise one). Easy to walk. Helicopter factory nearby was a bit noisy though.
Bridgewater was a nice course with a traditional layout. As long as you stay out of the trees and some well positioned bunkers you cant get into too much trouble. The rough was thick but I found it quite playable.
We arrived early and spent some time at the driving range and chipping/putting greens. The putting green was quite fast and the speed carried right on into the round. The uphill putts are fast enough while the downhills are just deadly. I would suggest keeping it below the hole whenever possible.
If you would like playing an old traditional course make sure to give this one a try.

I arrived at "Bridgewater Country Club" today and I was very pleased with what I found. The driving range has two chipping greens as well as a putting green, this helps you to warm up various parts of your game before your round. Arriving early for our tee time we were shown the tee blocks an hour before our scheduled tee time. This course is a very mature course, not alot of water comes into play, but with the valleys and doglegs this course is challenging. Ball marks on the greens were almost invisible which allowed your putts to roll true. With all the rain we have had this golf season the fairways were green and plush. Although the skies opened up on the 8th hole requiring us to wait out the storm for over an hour, I enjoyed my round at Bridgewater.

Great course! Nice to see that it's on the LMG list now! I used to be a member here and I see that it hasn't lost any of its charm. The trees are only getting bigger and thus the course is getting a bit tougher. Lots of fescue makes accuracy off of the tee important, and the layout is forever changing (from hole to hole) keeping the course interesting until the fantastic risk/reward finishing par 5. I reccomend Bridgewater CC to anyone at the LMG price!

Had the pleasure to play this course and found this course a very good test of golf. The course was in great shape and the greens were in like glass. Being a private course it was busy but the members were friendly to deal with. This course makes you really think about your approach shot into the green. If you miss the greens you are looking at some flop or chipping shots so pratice these on the range before. Overall if you like old style and mature course you will like playing this course. I believe you will enjoy this course and it's worth a try. Great challenge of all levels of golfers.
Bridgewater Country Club in Fort Erie first came to my attention when I saw it listed in the LMG offerings earlier this year. I understand that it is a private club, and when I found that it was listed at the Stanley Thompson Society as having been worked on by the late great one himself, I got really excited and booked a tee time through LMG.
Coming in as a single, I was placed with a threesome of gentlemen who were members of the club, which was a treat for me, given my lack of familiarity with the course. My playing partners had a little game going on that they'd obviously been playing before, so I kind of just sat back and soaked it all in. I am kinda green at golf anyways, and didn't want to be a burden, so the odd time I sent one the opposite way into the netherlands I would just play from my cart partner's shot location, and that kept the flow going I think. I got a chance to ask questions and hear stories that made the whole thing even more enjoyable. My partner pointed out some Thompsonesque features (green placements, shapes etc) that were all very interesting to me.
The conditions at the time (end of May) were quite good, although it was very windy that day. Greens rolled pretty consistently, and the main problem with the fairways was I was not in them from the drive enough for my liking (ahem!). Being an LMG booking, cart was included although there were certainly many others walking.
I asked at the clubhouse after the round about availability of tee times to the public, and was advised that the only way (aside from being a member or guest) was through LMG, so here's your chance to check it out, my fellow-LMGers!
