I also played on Sunday July 12. Teed off before 6:45AM and was done by 11AM. I have found early tee times the key to enjoying a round here - the dewsweepers git r done in 4 1/2 or less on the weekends - quicker during the week. (You just have to stretch a little beforehand so the front nine doesn't end up being the driving range.) I've learned over the years to never try to play this course other than very early in the morning - way too slow and unpredictable start times otherwise. Unlike previous poster who also played Sunday, all 18 holes were open for play in the morning. I like the layout - fun and challenging from the tips. Greens had just been punched and sanded, so very bumpy but this too will pass.

Rough afternoon at North Fulton. We got a great online deal to tee off at a little after 6, knowing we wouldn't finish 18 but hoping to play 12 holes or so. Unfortunately, the greens had just been aerated and the management decided to shut down the back 9 completely and not tell anyone who booked tee times for the day. Essentially they ended up trying to push a full schedule of golfers through 9 holes instead of 18. Those that had paid for 18 were being routed back around to the front 9 again, but were deferred to "new" golfers, meaning that when I left the course at a little after 9 PM (having played 7 holes in three hours), I bumped into another golfer who had been on the course since 3, and was just finishing a round!

Needless to say, communication among the staff broke down somewhere. If they were only going to have 9 holes available, they should have stopped accepting tee times. Only the great deal we got online prevented this from being a truly awful experience. Hopefully they'll get this sorted out, because I do like the course.

Course is in decent shape. Took a church group ofabout 30 people out so we did not have a problem with slow play. nothing really special about this course. Costs to much unless you get a group discount or LMTT discount.

If you want to play this course, make sure you have plenty of time. The average round is approx. 5 hours and you may not tee off on time. The course is in decent shape, and is fairly well laid out. There are a few elevation changes and well placed obstacles that make the course challenging for the average golfer. Will play it again, but it is not a must play course. There are better much better values in the metro area.

This course is like having too many bourbons. You know that the end result will be painful, but, for some inexplicable reason, you come back for more. You won't tee off until 30 minutes past your tee time (is the manager THAT incompetent?) and that it will take 5.5 hours to play. However, I still find myself coming back every 2 months or so, even though a trip out to a course north or south of 285 would probably be quicker. About to head out today at 1:00. Maybe this time will be different . . .

Classic city golf course. 2 foursomes on every hole, tight fairways and small greens. I do not enjoy a golf course that is slammed pack but I guess that is what you get in Atlanta. The course is maintained fairly well and you can get some nice views of the city and the park. Couple of nice signature holes for a city course our probably better off driving out of the city to play. The management stack you up out on the course and if you are a few minutes late for your time, you may not get out.

This course is very convenient to anyone who lives in the Buckhead or Perimeter area and very reasonably priced for the area. We did, however, tee off about an hour after our scheduled tee time, and it took a little over 5 hours to play the round. Other than that the course was in decent shape, with few places to lose your balls. This course is great for the higher handicaps or for players who are a little rusty from not playing in a while. For what it's worth, I would recommend playing this course, but just come with a patient and relaxed attitude.

Despite the fact we did not get on the course till 40 minutes after our scheduled tee time & the round took 5.5 hours to play, I really enjoyed the course. It is a wide open course with several short holes. Although not in the best shape, the greens still were fairly quick. On a bad note, the layout is poorly developed with many holes sitting right on top of each other. There were many instances where other guys had to come into our fairway because they shanked a shot. Would like to play again when the course is not as crowded.

The recent heavy rains have taken a toll on the fairways.

The pace of play was close to 5 hrs (and that was after teeing off 40 minutes late because the course was all backed up).

To top it off, there was a dad taking his two 8 yr olds around the course, jumping in front of groups between holes - a horrible way to introduce kids to the sport.

Only good news to report is that the greens are finally starting to green up.

I have been playing North Fulton for over a year and I have to say that this place has gone down hill in a hurry. I know it's winter golf but I can go to Browns Mill and find decent fairways and greens. This place is a hole in the wall. The grass is sparce even in the fairways. Miss your ball right or left no grass, only dirt and rocks. The greens had patches of grass growing and the grounds crew consistenly failed to stop mowing or seeding while we were hitting off the tee boxes! The worst part is the 40 plus dollar greens fee during the week. There is a million better valued courses in Atlanta. On top of all that the place was really slow with no marshalls, and the guy in the pro shop wasn;t very friendly.

Played this course on 3-7-09. I must say I was somewhat disappointed. First of all there is no driving range and the practice green was decent but you could only putt to a flagstick (no holes on the practice green). If you play this course put on a hard hat!!!(which the cart girl wore) because golf balls are flying everywhere out there!!! My group had to duck nearly every hole. The course layout is going to get someone seriously hurt (if not already). The fairways appeared to have been recently aerated and grass clippings covered my golf bag and clothes. The greens were decent at best but challenging. Clubhouse was simple but courteous. I may give this course one more try once the fairways green but from my first experience playing here I will not be in a rush to make it back.

Played this coures for the first time on 3-7-9 the first real golf day of the year. Very crowded but this was expected. Did not know they did not have a driving range. My buddies and I did not like it at all. The fairways were very wet as if it had just rained and the dead grass was packed on like they just cut it and left it there. The tee boxes were uneven on severeal holes. The greens were very dry and fast and some had several unfix divits and evens patches of grass growing. I did not like the layout, some holes you three tee boxes back to back, and everyone teeing off, and on one hole you are teeing off toward your flag and people are driving in your direction to get to to their greens. If you hit the balls and wind up on the other fairway if you dont get the quick golfers take your ball or pick it up. I must say the course is diffilcult and challenging, with the rolling greens and blind shot. But is not worth 45.00 buck at all. They did have good hotdogs and Hamburger on the grill.

Played again Thursday 3-5 and pin placements were a lot better (see my previous bad review). Greens were all puttable (don't know if thats a word) and I shot 38 on the front. As I said before they have to whatch the placement of pins on the bermuda greens in the winter. They should start growing soon and will be a lot better. OK I did not mention the 42 on the back.

Played week of 2-9 and the greens were unplayable. Pins were in spots were the ball would roll off the greens if you missed the hole. My group are all 10 - 16 handicap and we had to pick up on 3 greens after severial puts. Number 9 had the pin where if you had a 15 foot uphill put to the pin and missed the hole it would run back down and off the green. You could not drop or even place the ball near the hole without it rolling off the green. Not a test of true golf. It is ashame that they don't pay attention to where they place the pins as this is a good layout and the second oldest course in Atlanta area. The champions bermuda rools good in the winter but it just does not have any blades of grass to stop the ball if there is any hill at all. Note to course - please correct this

Played Tue Feb 10th.
Almost all the greens at North Fulton have very few flat putts. That made putting on the front nine challenging as the greens were very fast. The greens on the back nine did not seem to be as hard or fast. The greens are the Champion Bermuda that have almost no ball mark damage (due to firm greens and easily repaired ball marks).
Many of the fairways were thin and firm. But I would not say, "rock hard", just firm.
While there were many players, both walking and in carts, the pace of play was surprising brisk. Even though we waited on several holes we played the front in just under 2 hours and the back in about 2:15.
North Fulton has new electric carts that are very nice.
There is no practice range or hitting nets for warm up. However they do have a couple of small putting greens and you can do some chipping around the greens.
There are some great views and a lot of creeks and ponds to negotiate. The perimeter of the course is surrounded by either jogging trails or neighborhood streets.
It has a very basic club house. They only had a small self service snack area with limited selections. They do have a grill going in the warmer months but I am not sure about the weekends.
It is a fairly laid back facility(OK real laid back). There were a lot of golfers wearing jeans, some tennis shoes, and at least a pair of golfers sharing clubs. If that bothers you, you may want to go find a different course.
Overall I think it is a fun course that will challenge the course management and putting skills of most golfers.

It is a jewel course near downtown in Atlanta. Beautiful scenes on each course, and moderate challeges. It was winter time, so green did not work for my putt, as well early morning. Price is very competitive compared to other courses. However, 2 concerns were found. I booked advanced tee time through LMG, but they charged a regular fee to me. That means I overpaid, but not much($3). Staff did not understand how to charge. If you are less than 4 some, you have to be combined to 4 some forcefully. Be aware.

Played the week of December 15 during the warm spell. Most important news to report is they have a whole new fleet of golf carts. Electric ones with no parking brake (kept pushing the brake to the floor but it has some electronic parking brake). Still had that new "car"t smell.

Greens are relatively quick but hold approach shots. Some fairways offer "lush" dormant bermuda, some offer fairly bare lies. Sand was well raked and consistent. They've fixed some cartpaths too it seems.

It's a muni in the middle of Buckhead. You could do a lot worse!!

I played here back in the beginning of October and the green were in amazing shape, but today (11/01/08) the greens were in fair condition. The course layout is great and fun to play. Weekend play is very slow, 5+ hours/18 holes. The pro shop refuses to let you pay until they call you into the club house 10 minutes or so before your tee time, so don't worry about showing up early--especially because there is no practice facility and the practice putting green doesn't have holes punched in them, only flags sitting on the surface of the green. The location and price just can not be beat though.

Played Sunday, 10/19 on the afternoon special rate. This course is just around the corner from my house but this was the first time I ventured on it in years. What a good suprise. No driving range or much over chips and sodas in the clubhouse, but the layout is great. Very pleased and suprised with the condition of the course--it was very good. The greens have been a real good change with the champion bermuda, which holds up very well to the traffic. Somebody please remind me to check the grain of the green just as much as the slope...This is a great value for a classic layout in good condition. Very friendly staff. I will be back when I don't feel like driving but want to play golf.

North Fulton is a Great Golf course...for a Muni!!!

One can begin to tell that a course is fun from one's interaction with the staff at the front desk. Well.. the staff was pleasant and courteous. Even the ground crew tends to stop their activities when a golfer is on the tee or putting. I am very impressed. And, since I am always looking for good values, I intend to make this course my home course.

Great job!!!

Played the course for the first time on Friday afternoon, 8/22. I was expecting a beat-up cow pasture, but was pleasantly surprised by the layout & condition of the course. The fairways are a bit wide, but the course features several dog legs, blind shots and elevation changes. The undulating greens were quick & rolled true. My only regret is that I popped up my tee shot on 17, a downhill par 5 w/a creek crossing the fairway, so I still don't know if I can carry that creek off the tee! Very friendly staff, especially the cuties in the drink carts ;-) The only problem was how crowded the course was, and the 5 hour round that ensued. Still, it's a nice course for the money and very convenient for those who work in the area.

I played this track on 9/6/2008 a Saturday. The course was packed and we waited on every shot but I'm from New York so i'm used to it. This was the first time I played here and I didn't expect much because everyone told me that it was a beat up muni but to my surprise the golf course was in great shape. The greens ran true and pretty fast. The course isn't that long but it can be pretty difficult due to some tight fairways and a few blind tee shots. All in all I enjoyed my round and would return here to play this track again.

The layout at North Fulton is Really good! Combine that with a great location for city dwellers and Buckhead office workers, and you have a course that is always backed up after Noon even on weekdays. Too bad, because if it wasn't for the 5+ hour rounds and waiting on every tee box, North Fulton is a really good golfing experience. It is generally in good shape from tee to green, and considering the amount of play this course gets, the greens and fairways hold up very well. The front nine is the "scoring nine" while the back is where you hold on and try to deal with all the elevation changes, the fear of hitting someone's windshield, and some really long 4-pars.
Look, the course is fine. So fine I had to turn around in the parking lot this afternoon after seeing 5 groups waiting on the first tee at 2pm. Therein lies the problem.
