I played this course on 7/2/09 while on vacation in GA. This is a fun course with a number of challenging shots. You will love the par 3 tee box that sits 180 feet above the green. I always wanted to hit a sand wedge from 169 yards! If you like mountain golf then you should play this one.

Tough course but you definitely get your money's worth. Signature hole is very intimidating being a straight downhill shot but if you hit the green you should par. You have to hit the ball straight other wise you are in trouble due to the narrow fairways. My only complaint was there was not a single green that was level. They are all up or down hill and very fast. It makes for some very tough putting. All in all a challengin but fulfilling course for a very decent price. I play would play it again.

Great round for the money. Because of the hills you have a lot options on this course. Most times you won't hit the driver because of the skinny fairways. However, with the elevation changes, being short off the box can lead to a lot of lengthy approach shots. Greens were very fast, especially on the downhill putts. Only problem I had was the yardage was not well marked. Yardage markers on the tee box would help, so don't forget your SkyCaddy.

Recently (June 19&20, 2009) my wife and I played Innsbruck. We had a great time!!! The first day, our score was not that much to brag about but we were feeling our way around the course. It is a challenging course and will require you to use most clubs in your bag. The second day, our scores drop between 8-10 strokes. I thought the greens were in excellent shape. I really enjoyed talking with the ladies at the 19th Hole. They were very pleasent and funny to talk with. We went there for a weekend of golf and will return soon, be on the lookout!!!

Course was in great shape. They are in the process of laying new sod at some tee boxes and around one or two greens. However the greens are in amazing shape and the course is extremely challenging with all of its up and down holes. Every shot is difficult, but a great value. The employees were extremely nice to us and very helpful. The only bad thing was a group of 6 were trying to play together and held up several of us making our game about 30 min longer than it should have been. A member saw it though and sincerely apologized and promised to take care of it since the group were locals.

Played Tues.6/9 on a red flag rate.A fun course with some scenic views of the mountains.Played from the white tee boxes, turf was kinda firm on some holes.Fairways must have recently been cut,as ball was always covered with grass clippings. Some narrow fairways were bordered by hills that would kick the ball back into play.I wasn't so lucky to get any of those bounces! The rough was just that-"rough".Had trouble locating balls.Bunkers were clean and playable. The layout has several blind shots-some to elevated greens and others to fairways with slopes.Need to play a second time,as I would attack some of those holes differently now that I have seen them. The greens were soft and receptive, tiered & sloped. They were putting on the slow side.Pin placement was fair.Yardage stakes and sprinkler heads confused us.I guess it was the angle to the greens.Would like to see the cart path marked parallel with the 100,150,200 yardage stakes. The staff was friendly and helpful.Course is a challenge for all skill levels.

I played 3-24-09. The staff was friendly as usual and the course was in good condition with fairways still dormant, but beginning to green up. The greens had been sanded recently, but it's that time of year, we'll just have to deal with it. They have switched the front and back nines since the last time I played here. The switch makes the old #9's approach over water to the peninsula green a fitting end to the round. It also, however, means that the famed big drop par 3 is the new 6th hole. It's a bummer to get it out of the way so early instead of having it to look forward to towards the end if you aren't playing so well. My only reservation is that it would be nice if they extended their winter rates through March as there isn't much difference in the conditions of the course until April when the fairways wake up.

Let me add a couple of more thing to my previous review

1) Yes, make sure you have good breaks, hole #15 has about three switchbacks!

2) No, this course is not challenging like alot of courses, but it's by far the funnest course I have ever played.

3) It's pinball golf, ball just bounce out of the tree's and salad righ into the middle of the fairway, not challenging, but vey entertaining.

4) Club selection is a b****, I mean you can be hitting 110 yards, but it's either 20 yeard uphill on 20 down hill.

5) And #15 and pull/slice or whatever, is magnified by droves on the 9.5 seconds of "hang time" that you expereince on the short par 3

6) Pleae, for the sake of God, do not take the cart out of gear just for the fun if it! You will kill yourself at this course if you do!

7) There are certain holes where you know you should use the hybrid or 4 wood, but you can still use your driver, given the propensity of balls to just "end up" in the middle of the fairway.

8) I know I'm raving, but this really is the funnest course I have ever played, it's challenging in certain respects, but forgiving in others.

9) On #15, we burried our balls about 3/4 deep in the green. I have never seen divots where the balls is barely poking out of the green!

10) Go here, it has to be metro Atlanta's best kept golf secret, it's worth every bit of the two hour drive.

I LOVE this course, I played in a two-some today (20 December). We were the only golfers on the course all day (well, I don't think that anyone would start a round after we left, at 4PM in December). Just us two, but they still kept it open for just the two of us (rainy overcast day, but high of 65).

This is the second time I have played here. It is the most forgiving course I have ever played. When I first looked at the map of the course, I was ver uintimidated by the narrow fairways, but rejoice!...On most courses, when your wide of the fairway and you hit into the trees, your ball is lost, gone, never to be seen again (at least by you)...But not at Innsbruck, probably 80% of my wide shots decended down the steep mountain slopes and ended dead center in the fairway! Sure, there are few holes where the slopes go away from the fairway, but most are farway-bound. I can't tell you how many times I hit either too long or too wide, and...wait a second...there the ball was, sitting dead in the middle of the fairway with a beautiful approach shot.

Also, being that there was just two of us on the course, it really fun to fit about ten balls of number 15! I have played alot of courses, and most of them have a 'signature hole' but nothing, and I mean nothing, compares to Innsburuck's #15. We went back today just to get to play #15. I have never played (or seen on tour) anything like #15, word's don't do it justice and no camera can do it justice either.

This is probably my favorite course ever! How many courses will stay open for jsut two dedicated, but not so qualified, golfers!

The price is just too damned cheap, the course is great, the scenery is awesome, so take the two hour trip from the city to the best golf experience within six hours of Atlanta (no it's not in as good of shape as some of the courses near Lake Oconee). But the two times I played here were not rushed (well when you are the only golfers on the course, you can't get any less rushed!), great terrain, awesome service, a forgiving course, and the most magestic hole I have ever seen in my life. Take the drive, you won't regret it.

I will second what the previous reviewer said about the lack of hood for your clubs, so take a large umbrella.

WOW! for a florida golfer, not used to mountain courses, we were blown away. Played Friday 11/14/08. But weather forcasters could use some help, 68 and 20% chance of rain, how about 64 and 100% rain? Even with the rain, and the fog, and the mist, we loved it. Incredible, and wow is all I can say. Not only must you watch your ball off the tee's, but you must also be careful with the drive of your golf cart down these mountain paths, especially in the rain, Six Flags anyone? The par 3 #15 is worth the trip by itself, with 150 feet or so of drop down to the green. My wife said she would have loved it even if she didn't get to play, but only rode in the cart for the views. And with the fog and rain, we couldn't even see it all. Plus the local members and residents of the community couldn't have been nicer.

Tee's A-
Fairways A
Greens A

On the otherside, bring an umbrella if there is a chance of rain, as the golf carts don't have covers for your clubs on the back. There are a few minor bumps here and there on some of the greens, especially #18. For the money you pay through LMG, this is a steal. We will definitely be back, again and again.

We played this course on Saturday 11/08/08. The views are beautiful. The course is allot of fun to play. The trees and the hills help, so do not think your ball is always out of play. No need for two from the tee, you will find allot of your balls in the middle or edge of the fairway. The signature par 3 is amazing. With this course, always go up a club. It has allot of up hill battles or steep declines. The wind plays allot in your game.

Super fun course to play.. its not Augusta National...

Like lots of resort course, its meant to be fun.. not challenging (although it is) and scenic.

The signature hole (par 3) is amazing.

Just hit the ball and enjoy the scenery then go into town for some beer :)

I played this course 10/5 for a LMTT rate of $25. I make it a point to travel here to play every year during Octoberfest.

The course is always in splendid condition, and today was no exeption.

This is one of the most breathtaking courses that you will ever see when it comes to scenery. I have yet to understand how this course was built on a mountain.

Make sure that the cart that you get has good brakes because the slopes are treacherous!

The course is pretty challenging and it seems that you get a lot of great breaks due to the fairways that seem to funnel your ball back into play. You can't be wild off the tee on this course, but you can open it up on a few holes without too much penalty.

For some reason, the greens were super, super quick this day. If the ball went past the hole, there were no easy comeback puts. It was important to keep the ball below the hole although pin placement was very generous.

I enjoyed the entire 18 holes, but I feel like the back nine is quite a bit tougher.

The staff was very nice, and it was an overall great experience. This course is really a hidden gem that not many golfers know about.

I anxiously await my trip next year!

Six men from our church played this past Sat. We had an 8:00 tee-time & finished in 4 hrs. The course is scenic & a fun one to play. Although a mountain course it wasn't terribly difficult. Alot of tee shots hit left & right hit the side hills & rolled back into the fairways. Eddie in the golf shot was our contact peraon & helped us out & we really appreciate that. A good experience for all of us

We absolutely enjoyed playing this course! I loved the signature hole but must admit that I did not hit the green with my tee shot! What a challenge! We played from the men's tees in order to get the most value for the day~ a bonus for women on Monday and Tuesday~ discount greens fees! What a great deal for a beautiful course. We are going back next week to play again....and try to hit the green on the signature hole....180 years...straight down, gotta love it!

The golf carts must run on jet fuel to get up some of the hills. This is the most scenic course I have played, every hole is picturesque, kudos to the maintenance team for what must be a very challenging job. Club selection is key, but difficult to figure out, I mean a 180 yard par 3 that drops straight down 180 yards with a 10 mile an hour wind... almost need a protractor to figure that out.

The greens were definitely easier than the fairways, I had my first 60 foot putt sink, made me feel like Vijay. For all the challenges I ended up playing this course several strokes under my average, maybe due to no having nobody in front or behind us... Loved it.

Played Sunday, August 17th, on a RED FLAG special and also cashed in @860 yards for a green fee of $17.02 each for our twosome.....excellent value. Greens were in great shape and you could tell they have been pouring the water to them. Approach shots had great bite and backspin. Two balls plugged like a fried egg. It was like throwing darts. Most tee boxes were hard as nails and a little barren. Fairways tight but fair. O.B. is not worth the search; so bring a few extra balls. Service friendly but no beverage cart girl currently employed/deployed. Told some friends and they will be going this weekend. I'll be back for sure.
