To visualize golf at Verandah begins with understanding a long forgotten methodology. It’s heyday dates back to the early 1920’s during a time of prosperity in America. Courses were created in a way that complimented the landscape: tree lines were preserved, waterways went untouched. And with this devotion to the natural surroundings came some of America’s most famous courses including Winged Foot, Oakmont, and Pinehurst. With the Old Orange Course at Verandah, we’ve recaptured this “Golden Era” of golf. In keeping with The Bonita Bay Group’s reputation for some of the finest courses in Southwest Florida, we enlisted course designer Bob Cupp to create 18 holes in such a way that the landscape is not only preserved, but also enhanced. You’ll know it when you tee off amongst a canopy of live oaks. Or when you take in views of the historic Orange River from the fairways. At Verandah, we aren’t just creating a remarkable golf course. We’re creating a tribute to the game itself.
It should be noted that the length from the various tees allows all players to have a pleasant, if not invigorating round of golf. There is wonderful variety here. Where it is long, it is very long. Where it is short, it is just that, but delicate. The rambling nature of the routing through the various old and new stands of oak will unquestionably be a memorable experience. Verandah Club will be a unique entry into the Southwest Florida golf market. Try Verandah's "Member For a Day Program" available exclusively through "Last Minute Golfer".
