Designed as the recreational centerpiece of a 1,100-acre residential community, Long Shadow Golf Club at Madison Lakes offers two distinct personalities, both of which will excite the senses and challenge all golfers, regardless of skill level.
From the outset, Madison Lakes owner-developer Paul Donnelly insisted that the Long Shadow Golf Club receive first priority in the community's overall land plan. Throughout the project, he worked closely with noted Georgia-based architect Mike Young, who has designed more than 40 courses in five different countries, to create a course that takes maximum advantage of the property's natural assets - its rolling topography and namesake lakes.
The result is a blend of holes carved from wooded land creased with meandering creeks and open, windswept meadows, creating a layout that recalls the great heathland courses of Scotland and Ireland. Bold bunkering and fescue-covered hillocks frame fairways and greens, giving the course a distinctive linksland character within a parkland setting.
For those who love golf in its purest form, a core routing, with real estate development limited to the periphery of the property, makes Long Shadow a course that is easily walkable. Five sets of tees allow the par-72 course to be played from 5,235 to 7,346 yards. There's even a set of tees that measures more than 7,600 yards, for those looking for the ultimate challenge. | Directions | Print Driving Directions | | From East Atlanta: Take I-20 East to US HWY 441.
