There is a hidden treasure in the north Georgia mountains. Mark McCumber, PGA Tour professional and course architect, has designed a course that not only preserves the natural beauty but also protects the history of the land. Mark has accomplished this through strategic routing of the holes. For example, on the tenth hole you utilize an ancient farmhouse's chimney as your aiming point. In addition, the par 3 seventeenth has an old wooden farmhouse overlooking the dramatic hole. The fairways twist along the rolling hills, but the bent grass greens are mostly situated in valleys, which provides and exquisite setting for your approach shots.
What makes Hammer's Glen Golf and Country Club stand out from all other golf facilities in Northeast Georgia: award winning course design (voted top ten in state daily fee courses by Georgia Fairways), Excellent course conditions and legendary customer service. Our staff works very hard to ensure that each customer will enjoy their day.
Home sites are now available, for more information please contact Hammer's Glen at 706-677-3333.
Webmaster's Notes WOW!... Hammer's Glen (formerly Scales Creek) is worth the drive. It's 20-25 minutes north of Chateau Elan. The course itself is a terrific layout. Plenty of room to land tee shots, but plenty of trouble to get into if you miss. At 7,130 yards from the tips, you better be able to hit driver often and well. Thankfully, the Blues are only 6,368 and the whites 5,610. Ladies get red tees at 4,778. Plenty of elevation changes and dog legs to make you work the ball and think about tee shots. Jim Dickson and his staff have done a fantastic job with the course conditions since they took over in September 2003. They have renovated the bunkers, greens, and fairways. | Directions | Print Driving Directions | I-85 north to Exit 149/ Hwy 441 (Commerce Banks Crossing Exit).
